wdwgirl and Dad do Disney:an April '10 PTR...TR LINK ADDED!! p. 56

That Gingerbread Vinylmation is very cute! I really like all those things too, but have resisted in buying any because I have NO WHERE to put them!!!!

Love those old pictures, the hub was so pretty! Not that it's not now, but I love all those trees and flowers!

I like that shirt, and in purple, yes!

The old photos are awesome. There's a "Now and Then" photo thread on the Theme Parks Community Board you should post them to! I put up a few....but don't have many because all our photos are in traditional film format and I don't have the patience to sit around and scan many!

I think I've seen that thread before. I might've posted some on there but I should go back and look at it. It's fun seeing all the "retro" pictures.

haha, you are stronger than me, I couldn't resist! And neither could my sister...she's already told my other sister to get her one when they go in a couple weeks. :rotfl:

The hub did look really different. It looks so funny with those Mickey and Minnie topiaries!

Yay!!:yay: for being under 90 days!! Great gifts!! The Gingerbread Mickey Vinylmation is soooo cute!! Love the Tinkerbell Calendar!!(got one for Christmas myself!;)) I'm enjoying seeing your old pics!! Very cute!!:goodvibes

It seems like every time I go back those same Mickey and Minnie topiaries are in a different spot. I always take a picture! I cannot recall now off hand where they were this trip...I think Epcot.

I know, isn't it?! As soon as I saw that I had to have it. And my sister needed Christmas gift ideas...haha

Ooh, that's a cool idea. I bet they move the topiaries around a lot. It seems like some of them have been around forever!

Hey everyone! TGIF! The way the weeks are flying by April will be here in no time.:thumbsup2 So I've been seriously slacking in updates lately but I thought I'd squeeze one in quickly before going to school. It's about time I do another Top Ten list, so here goes. This list has to do with a little R 'n R...or...

Sarah's Top Ten Resorts and Restaurants!!!

10. The Boardwalk
n20305212_30160694_2348.jpg

Even though I haven't stayed here, it's such a fun resort. We've gone to the Boardwalk several times to eat and again it's got a great atmosphere, especially at night. It's a good place to people-watch too because there's so much activity. The BW's definitely on my list of resorts to stay at. My parents and sister are staying there when they go in a few days so I can't wait to hear what they have to say!

9. Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe
cosmic_rays_counter.jpg

I can remember eating here since we were little. There's just something about it that screams Magic Kingdom to me. Whenever we go we always have to eat here atleast once for burgers or chicken tenders. :thumbsup2

8. The Wilderness Lodge
5210_605120691324_20305212_35625925_1278390_n.jpg

If you've read my previous TRs, you might remember how we ate at the Whispering Canyon Cafe and since we were at the WL we had some time to explore a little bit. My sister and I thought it was AMAZING and knew we had to stay there soon. When it came time to book a resort for our August trip, the Wilderness Lodge was one of our first choices and we were lucky enough to get a studio there! This is probably one of the best themed resorts because you really feel like you've left Florida...instead of palm trees it's pine trees and wildflowers. And then there's that lobby. Awesome!

7. Earl of Sandwich

This is a new favorite after eating there during our August trip. Great food and nice sized portions too.

6. Animal Kingdom Lodge
n20305212_33507037_528.jpg

Another resort with lots of theming and details. Best part is the savannas and animal watching!!! As you all know I'm so excited to stay at Kidani Village in April. :yay:

5. Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater
Sci-Fi_Dine-In_Theatre_morizio.jpg

If you've never eaten at the Sci-Fi, it's so cheesy but so much fun at the same time. I love how the tables are cars and they show all those corny sci-fi videos. I remember one time we ate there my sisters and I got our food on a glow in the dark frisbee which was pretty cool.

4. The Beach Club
n20305212_34373388_621.jpg

We got to stay at the BCV a couple years ago and we really enjoyed it. In addition to the great location it has one of the best, if not THE best pool in all of WDW. Stormalong Bay was awesome...I thought it was a great touch to have sand-bottomed pools and the slide was so much fun. They also had some ping pong tables right near the pool so we got to play that. I really think the BC/YC/BW area is one of the most scenic places in Disney.

3. Rainforest Cafe
n20305212_33510285_5088.jpg

We've only eaten here once and had to wait a good hour but it was well worth the wait. They've got a wide selection of food to choose from so there's something for everyone. Plus those thunderstorms they have are amusing.

2. Saratoga Springs

SSR is our home, so of course I have to include it on my list. This resort seems to get a lot of hate on here which I don't get. :confused3 Some people complain about the lack of theming. I don't know, I think it has great theming and it's such a peaceful resort. Plus it's cool being so close to Downtown Disney. Can't wait for another stay at our "home!"

And last but not least, I'm sure everyone can guess my #1 resort. ;)

1. The Polynesian!!!!
n20305212_32942885_6435.jpg

Like I've said so many times, we used to always stay there when we were younger. I love the location of the resort, the grounds are so pretty and it's just got a great atmosphere. We all love the Poly so much. If I could have any Disney dream, it would be for them to make DVC villas there because I know that's the only way we'd ever add on more points. So let's go, Disney, where's the DVC at the Polynesian?!

Have a great weekend!

I agree! HEY DISNEY, WE WANT DVC AT THE POLY!!!! :yay:

:goodvibes

Another great Top 10! Joe's #1 favorite resort is the Boardwalk, we are looking at that for our next trip since we have yet to stay there. I think it will be a real treat being so close to Epcot!

Yes, when we were at the BC it was awesome being so close to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. :thumbsup2

Time to read your TR...popcorn::

Love the list! The Wilderness Lodge and the Poly are my dream resorts. I'm from the NE, so you'd think the WL wouldn't be "exotic" enough, but there's just something about it. I find it so beautiful!

I love the list Sarah!! I definitely agree that Disney needs DVC Villas at the Polynesian. That would be awesome. :cool1:

I should have known #1 would be the Poly. Nice list.

Great retro pics too. Gotta love Mickey's Starland. :thumbsup2

Wouldn't it?! I miss staying there. :guilty:

haha, of course it's #1!

Starland was awesome. :thumbsup2

Is the Poly the resort that has the only other place to have Dole Whips? If so, that would be my #1 resort too! Plus, it's an MK monorail resort ... how could I not?!? I normally always wanted to stay in the Contemporary because I like how the rooms look (simple and modern), but I think it would be so much fun to be immersed in another atmosphere like I would be at Poly! Maybe future Disneymoon plans (the ones in my imagination~ haha) should be altered ... :rotfl:

Hmm, that is a good question. I have never had a Dole Whip before...:rolleyes1 I suppose I should change that. haha! But it would make sense if they had them at the Poly. I think a Polynesian Disneymoon sounds excellent. :thumbsup2

Oooh, that is a pretty good list!

I still need to try Earl of Sandwich yet!

Mmmm, Earl of Sandwich is SO good! I could really go for that right now. I guess I should go get some dinner. hehe

They do have Dole Whips at the Poly. In their 'food court', Captain Cook's. My DH loves them! Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, but I only think they're ok. Kaki Gori in Japan is my favorite!

I really really really want to stay at the Beach Club so we can try out Stormalong Bay--that seems like the coolest place!

Also--love Earl of Sandwich--it's our check in day lunch tradition!

I love your Top Tens Sarah!

I went to the BC for the first time back around Halloween for breakfast at Cape May with my grandma. We took the boat and when started walking by SAB, I stopped in my tracks and was like "....is that...sand? IN the pool??? Gram, look at this!!!!" :rotfl: We were both pretty amazed by it and stood there for a long time admiring SAB! BC is one of my "one day I wish" resorts. OK so I think every resort is a "one day I wish", but BC is near the top!

Ahh, OK. Good old Captain Cook's. We'd always get lunch from there on our arrival days while we waited for our room. Good times!

SAB is great! They also had a couple lifeguards hosting bingo games. It was such a fun area.

haha, yup, it definitely has sand in it! So cool. I agree, all the resorts are on my "one day I wish" list too. The Beach Club is a good one to have at the top! :thumbsup2
