Have you gone to Disney with a 3 mo old? We will be with our Daughter that will be 33 mo old and my parents to help out too. Are we crazy to consider this? My 1st was such a good baby and could have handled that. But it is a blur when I think back to when she was 3 mo old. We brought her at 8 mo and she loved it. Any tips? Suggestions?
TIA

It really depends on the baby. If they are the types to sleep anywhere, then go for it!

We took DD to the beach when she was 4m. We stayed in a house and everything was within walking distance.

Thank goodness we had a pool! We never would have enjoyed our vacation otherwise. She would not sleep anywhere except in her crib. Now she slept 20 hours of the day if she was in a cool, dark place, which gave us lots of couple time. But out and about, she was wide awake. So I'm glad we never went to WDW with her so young or we wouldn't have seen anything or worse, she would have been super cranky.

So it depends! Since you'll have an extra set of hands, that will really help. But if it was me, I'd wait and check out the temperament of your new one.

Our dd is 3mo right now. We are headed down in April when she is going to be about 5mo. I think she will be a lot easier than her 3yo and 5 yo big sisters. Babies are portable at that age. I will be bringing a couple of slings, and she'll probably just be hanging out with me or dh in a sling most of the time. I also breastfeed, so no need to bring bottles or worry about cleaning them.
I agree with the pp though. It probably depends a lot on the temperment of the child, but I think for the most part, babies this age are pretty easy. Though we have never had the fortune of having a child that was really attached to their crib. All of ours would rather sleep with mom and dad.
I say go for it. It will likely be more fun than staying at home.

We have plans of going to wdw in Nov our baby is due Aug 12. I am a little nervous but I think it will be fine. My other two always loved to be held and usually slept while held. i am getting a sling or carrier so the baby will always be on me. I am breast feeding so no need to carry bottles. i am more worried about me missing out on things , the boys and dh will be off running and riding. And I will be with baby. But I love to watch parades and window shop so i think it will be ok. I would worry a little bit if you are going in the hot weather. My kids never did well in the sun and heat. keeping a baby cool might be difficult.

We took our son in May the year he was born. Sun block and hats were a necessity. Sleeping really was not an issue. We also had our parents and some friends along (what do you know they now have a disney baby):rolleyes1 .
We were able to switch off care of our little one and everyone rode what they wanted.
Highlights were blizzard beach (they have a little tikes section) and the animal safari. Buzz was a big horror show for our guy so you may want to keep that in mind also.
We had a bjorn and of course a stroller. Just remember to take whatever you would need to the parks with you. One morning my only responsibility was the sunscreen. Well guess what was forgotten? My wife was a bit upset and about to go all the way back to the resort. Well thankfully I have always been able to think on my feet. I went to the closest stroller parking area and waited for a parent to apply sunscreen to their child. I then explained my situation (of course I told them it was my fault) needless to say they were more than happy to share and I now have a story and sunscreen is something we never forget.

DD - who was our first - was born in March and we took her in June (exactly on her 3 month birthday, coincidentally). It was great- she was a very awake/alert baby (slept much less than an "average" baby, even at home - not in a fussy way, more in a "just dont need a ton of sleep" way), and did just fine - she did nap in the stroller- both in the afternoon and evening.

I did buy a stroller fan from One Step Ahead to help keep her cooler - and a ray shade for as much protection as possible. She nursed, so I didn't need to worry about bottles, etc. (I just kept a very light blanket with us and nursed whenever she needed - not in the baby care centers). We flew and nursed her during take off and landing (for her ears) - no problems there at all.

THe only "problem" we encountered was that the "tear free" sunscreen turned out not to be so tear free - we switched to water babies (at the suggestion of some experienced parents we encountered during the "incident") and it was much better - no more problems. So, in hindsight, I'd recommend a test run of any new products you'll be using before the trip!

We took our DS for his first trip when he was 3 months old and we had a great time. We went in February so the heat wasn't an issue, but kept him covered with a hat and used the stroller when he was napping. Babies are so portable at that age, so we didn't miss anything and it was actually very easy ( well compared to a 2 year old anyway :rotfl2: )

We took twins at 3mo old (plus a 4yr old)...so I can say one at 3mo, with help should be no problem, but I do agree that it depends on the baby. Take your time and take breaks. We never go back to our room, our kids have always slept in their strollers (we always bring our own, so they are comfortable), while we relax on a bench or table.

Enjoy!!:thumbsup2

I took my daughter when she was about that age. I just made sure to keep her cool so she wouldn't get overheated and she was fine. We spent a lot of time strolling the gift shops while my husband took my then three year old on rides. Much easier than a two year old!

It really depends on your child. My kids were sleeping through the night at 6 and 9 weeks respectively and were very even tempered. I have a gf who has a colicky baby and I wouldn't attempt it with a child that is easily over stimulated.

We took our dd when she'd just turned 4 mo old and it was great. We just took it kind of easy, brought our own stroller that toally reclined and tha helped a ton. We also took the baby bjorn and stuck it under the stroller when she was sleeping, and I put her in the baby bjorn to carry her on the attractions. One of the beauties of Disney is you can do almost everything while holding an infant! The golden age of travel for babies is from about 3 mo when the colic stage is passed until they start walking. My philosopy is this: whatever kind of family you want to be- be that way from the beginning. If you are going to be an on-the-go family, go for it and take the baby, s/he will learn to adapt that way. Of course you have to make concessions for children, obviously, but we always traveled with our little ones, ate out with them, took them everywhere family oriented that we went.

We also got some adorable pics of our DD with characters, and the characters seemed to really like that, they are very adept at holding small infants- they get down on the ground and hold them in thier laps so you can take photos. It was priceless. Our dd LOVED it, she was fascinated by all the sights and sounds, and just napped in her stroller whenever she needed to. It was a great trip.

Have a wonderful time!

I've heard some great experiences, and some who are against one so young. But...again, you know your baby best. We're taking our new one when she is 2 months.... and I'm hoping she's as good as my other 3 were, because I've been lucky to have good babies :)

(crossing my fingers to unjinx myself....lol)

we took our daughter to wdw when she was 3 months old, and it was way easy. The only complication we came across was her eating schedule, but I wore her in a baby carrier and stopped at the baby center to feed her. It was really kick back and relaxing trip. Hope you have a great time!
