WDW vs US pricing

You can get a 3 day park to park Universal ticket through Undercover Tourist for $189. I don't think Express costs $150-200 even for spring break dates, does it? So it seems like you are looking at something overpriced.

A 3 day park hopper from Disney is $344 gate price. The base 3 day is $291, or a $100 more.

I have gone to Universal 5 times (2 in July, 3 in December). I added on the unlimited express once in July ($150) and all three days in December (first day was $89, then $104, then $129.99 as it got closer to Christmas).

I have no idea about the prices since we aren't planning a trip to Universal. Maybe you could just google the prices?

Yes. As I've said before, I have priced out tickets via the US website. That is why I'm confused.
Below is the conversation that prompted this thread.

Suvadoo: Yes there are extra expenses with the Express Pass, but honestly it offers front of the line to ALL but 4 attractions. Whereas, FP+ allows you to reserve 3 FP+ and then get more.
For my vacation in April, Universal for 3 days with front of the line and park hopping is less expensive than my 3 day no park hopper at WDW and I'm not staying at a Universal deluxe resort.

Smith smith: Would you mind explaining the exact US tickets you're buying? Is it express pass for all 3 days? Is it express pass for both parks?

Suvadoo: It's an express pass for all 3 days, but I got in on the buy 2 days and get 3rd day free. It's also a park to park.

Smith smith: Thanks. I read this sort of thing a lot. Someone will say I can buy an x number of days plus extras at US for cheaper than an x number of days at WDW. But whenever I price it out for myself that is never the case. Can someone explain what I'm doing wrong? In this scenario I went to the U.S. website selected the park to park 2+1 day free ticket that Suvadoo specified, then selected the express pass for both parks for the cheapest dates I could find (April 28-30) and I come to a grand total of $366. However a 3 day WDW base ticket is $291. How is it possible to say US is cheaper?

Estherhead: I always want to know this too. Our family never does universal as we've tried and not enjoyed it as much and we can't afford them both. If I could do it cheaply we'd love to try it again as it's been a few years. But it always comes out to more despite trying the things people post on here.

Luckybee: What you are doing wrong is pricing the base ticket and express separately. Go back to the U site and look at the bundled tickets. You'll see that a 3 day park to park with unlimited express is as low as $269 date dependant.

Then the thread was closed. So I started this thread to finish the conversation. The second half of my original post on this thread was picking up where we left off. It was a response to Luckybee explaining that Suvadoo didn't mention anything about bundled tickets or unlimited express pass, but it wouldn't matter anyway because it's still isn't cheaper because 3 day bundled tickets in April would cost anywhere between $330-$383 (date dependent), while the WDW cost is $291.

So that is why I'm confused and interested in how Suvadoo scored US tickets with all the extras for under $300.

OP did. What OP found by going the normal route did not match what was claimed. From a money saving perspective, OP's question is fair.

For us, an Florida Res AP would be the least expensive route so long as we go enough times to "break even".

While it is great that Uni offers that, I rather wish they had a free option. Insane that the Express pass at times exceeds the cost of a single day ticket or even like exceeds the daily price of a multi-day ticket. It's highway robbery! Folks can eschew FP+ all they like, but at least it is for everyone for free.

Usually highway robbery doesn't allow one to weigh one's priorities, look at the options, and make a choice.

I think a better descriptor would be "expensive" or "prohibitively expensive for me."
