I thought I made it clear in my post that I am almost positive that Disney will not "take away" morning entry. Will they make it relatively easier for someone staying in a Deluxe Resort and paying full pop to score a morning entry of their choosing? Yes, I'm almost 100% sure Disney wants this and will try their best to make it happen without violating any contracts.
Look at it this way: when we got our annual passes, we knew that Disney had all of those wonderful rides, like Rise of the Resistance, etc. And that's part of why we love Disney and want to get passes.
I love that ride. But, in practice, it is such a hassle to get on it, I don't ride it every visit, anymore. I've never been on Slinky Dog. I've never done Toy Story Mania in Disney World. I used to do it in CA when I could get free Fastpasses, but not anymore. If we still got free Fastpasses, I'm sure I'd do all of those rides. But now they are "kind of" behind a paywall. Not exactly, but kind of...
I do feel that Disney has diminished the value of my AP for me compared to what I used to assume it "should" be, but without violating their contract with me. I still have access to all of those rides in theory, but not so much in practice.
And, hey, I can still get on Star Tours and Muppets 3D, right?
And you will still have full access to all of the same days your contract entitles you to. It will just be harder to get them, is all. But, yeah, it might be easier to score a last minute reservation for 5PM. Maybe that works for you, anyway? It does for me. I'm fine with this change, actually. As I've already pointed out, I can never enter before noon, anyway.
