WDW Marathon Waivers Are (sort of) Up!

This is my first WDW marathon and I will be running Goofy. Curious as to where an unofficial bib # of 20031 will place me? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Unless I am missing a clue, Goofy starts at 20000.... I am thinking "A". Let me know if that is not an expectation.

I submitted a 63 minute 10 mile time for my qualifier. I am new to this so I thought I would ask. Thank you so much for your help and insight!

Haha not sure if you're trolling but that projects to a 1:22 half or a 2:45 Marathon. Sounds like the A or even Elite corral is probably your destination.

You estimate a bout a 6 hour race with that bib?

My thoughts are there are 12000 marathon only runners, meaning your bib is about a quarter of the way up from the end. Maybe an K-M?

I am hopeful that the mouse opens up links midweek next week clearing up what everything means.

Coach, if goofy starts at 20000 doesn't that mean there are 19999 marathon onlys? I'm getting confuzzled:confused3. Thanks for all your guessing/advice.

Sorry! I am not trying to sound that way. Just new to the WDW marathon and have found great information on these threads. I am very excited/nervous to run, as I am not sure whether to focus on time or take the time and enjoy the experience.:)

If you ran commensurate with your 10 miler time, you'd be top 100 overall. So yes, A or elite. :)

I have more then 1 friend who's marathon number is un the 10,000's I wish disney would just release this info and get all the is speculation over :confused3

That's amazing! That's even less than my 10k time :lmao:

You didn't mean to say 10k instead of 10 miles did you??

If I were you...fast....I would do what some others do...get on a ride in AK if its open when you get there...some people go on the massive roller coaster ride while doing the marathon!

Get off around mile 15 for a McFlurry at McDonalds...just cause.

Get a drink...whatever it is at Epcot before you cross the finish line.

In the meantime take photo ops...if you are fast and in the A coral then you wont have to worry about dreadfully lone q's.

Enjoy it.

But that's me.

Hear, hear!
We will more than likely be in the same corral seeing as we are both 8000's. I just wish we knew WHAT corral lol.

LOL me too...I need all the cushion I can get. Since I have been injuried and wasn't even sure I was coming my training is very limited so I will be walking most if not all of it.

Well all credit to you for continuing injured! I struggle and I'm injury free. I am however heavy so not fast at all and during our longs run I seem to be getting slower. Still under a 15 min mile on average but I, like yourself, want as much cushion as I can possibly get. Good luck to you whether you run/walk and whatever else ;) see you in corral K (?????????lol)

I theory, yes. In actual practice, I believe I was told the marathon was limited at 22-24k this year. With 5k dopey and 5k Goofy, that leaves 12-14k in the race as marathon only runners.

So they could add about 6-8k runners to reach the 19999 limit. Oh, to further help or possibly confuse, you generally always start a new race series at #1 to avoid confusion.

So...
0001 - Marathon
20001 - Goofy
30001 - Dopey
40001 - Donald
60001 - Minnie
70001 - Family Fun Run.

...so B or C corral then? :)

Nah, a 2:55 is a top 40 finish at Disney - A all the way

Note, the only reason I do not say elite is that elites must register as such or be recognized as such.

Not too worried, but just curious. My bib # is 9497. I am running the full. Any thoughts about what corral I would be in? And in doing so, where would that be from the back?

Also, did not submit a time at registration. Thought that info would be helpful

Assuming that the marathon is 1-10,000, probably the last two corrals, but I don't know for sure.

About mid field based on an assumed 12000 runners doing just the full. Sounds obscene doesn't it; when did a marathon become 'just' a marathon.

I know, right?

Heck, with the advent of Dopey, "just" can even be applied to Goofy.

And thanks. I worked to get a certain time in the Cherry Blossom 10 Mile Run in April to get a certain time for one of their cut offs, and just barely got it, so I'll be happy regardless. :)
