We've never been to WDW in September, but considering it for our next trip. The last few years we've gone in May. How's September? Anyone been those 2 months who can compare crwds and temperature? What are the park closing times like?

I can't compare to May...but I can tell you that late September is a great time of year to go!

Yes - the parks close earlier - however the lines are SOOOOOO much shorter (in later September) that you can do more in less time.

Yes - it's hurricane/storm season...so you will get some rain. On our last trip - it would rain for like 30-60 minutes in the morning and then be done for the rest of the day. Maybe quick bursts throughout the day...but we never minded getting a little wet! Yes, we had one complete wash-out day...but we just made that a 'resort' day.

I myself am going Sept 12-18 this year. I have several friends who sing the praises of a Sept trip. As stated previousely the parks close earlier but the lack of lines allows you to see everything you want in the shortened park hours. I also like having some time to visit other Orlando attractions in the evenings.

We have been in May several times. I always liked it until we tried going in September. It was near perfect. Well it did rain one day but the crowds are sooooo low you can just stroll through the parks carrying your umbrella. No fast pass needed, almost every ride was a walk on (except maybe Dumbo ) The parks do close earlier but you can accomplish so much you feel really satisfied when you leave to enjoy your resort etc, at night. It was hot but then May is too. We are going again this Sept. I love Disney in September!

Wow, this is a perfect question for me. My last two trips have been in May and Spetemebr respectively. After my May trip (22-29), I though nothing could compare to the weather or the crowds at that time. I was mistaken. I will never go another time besides September ever again. It was amazing. We were there the 6th to the 13th. I am not kidding when I say that it could not have been more perfect weather. 75-85 every day and literally did not rain once. I know this is extrememly rare, but it's true. Also, our longest line was 10 minutes!!!!! I don't like lines but also don't want the parks to feel empty. The parks weren't "empty", but there was absolutely no wait times. Hope this helps:p

So far this sounds like a definite "must consider"-especially since we're DVC members and rates are lower in September. Anyone golfed in September? ncgolfer, I'm wondering if your screen name means maybe you can help. DH golfs virtually every day we're there. Anyone know the condition of the courses in September, or how busy they are compared to May? Last time we went, play was extremely slow one day because it was so busy.
