Hi
Well we have been to wdw 7 times up to now, but we haven't eaten at any wdw hotels :scared1:( only The kitchen sink at Beaches n Cream)
We have done the usual haunts on the 192 and also a few places in the parks-50's prime time ,restauransauras(?) chrystal palace,CRT, Norway princess breakfast.
Now I think its time we ate at some of the hotels!
Please can you recommend places to eat and why you like going there :thumbsup2
Thanks!:goodvibes

two new places we visited this last trip which were lovely were Jiko (AKL) and California Grill (Contemporary). The food at both was delicious. California Grill is also very good for younger children as they are allowed to draw on the (paper) table cloth, this actually kept us all amused;)

1900 Park Fare was new to us as well and was a big hit, the character interaction was the best we had that trip and the food, for a buffet, was very good, more/better choice than Chef Mickey's.

We also went back to Whispering Canyon (WL). This can be a really fun place if you get the right server and the food, whilst certainly plentiful my chicken wing starter was about 8 chicken wings :scared1: is just okay.

Previous trips we have done Spoodles which we enjoyed, Ohana's and Boma's neither of which we would rush back to.

Another vote here for the Califonia Grill, we ate there for the first time in October and the food was fabulous. Whilst we were staying at the Dolphin, Blue Zoo also was very popular, we didnt eat there, but it was always busy.:thumbsup2

We have only eaten at 1900 Park Faire at the Grand Floridian. We did a character breakfast there which was lovely but I've heard good things about the dinner there too.

thanks guys:thumbsup2 California grill seems popular!
we are staying in a villa(when i find one  ) and for the last 2 nights we are staying at The Swan, so we'll have a chance to check out the Blue Zoo.
Tim-thanks for the links!

We ate at bluezoo last Easter. The menu is predominantly fish, which DS and I really like. DH less so, but he ate a meat option. DS and I really enjoyed it. DH found it rather too formal for his liking on holiday.

Another vote for Jiko!! We ate there in January - food was excellent and would definately go back. How about Citricos at Grand Floridian - we ate there last September, again the food was excellent and we are planning to return during our next trip in September 07!! :yay: We also like Boma or how about Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary for a bit of character interaction!! We have only eaten breakfast at Chef Mickey's, which from memory as it was a few years ago, was good. Planning to try dinner during our next trip.

As previously posted, have a look at the menus, which might give you some more ideas.

We have eaten at a few hotels, our favourites being Chef Mickeys at Narcoossees at the GF. We like trying new hotel restaurants each trip as it gives us a chance to checkout the hotels too!:)

Ours favs are:-

1900 Park Fare
Boma
Jiko
Ohanas
Kona Cafe
California Grill

Thanks guys:thumbsup2
I will be looking at going to some of these that you have suggested!

The buffets at Cape May and Boma are both excellent. The Yachtsman Steakhouse is good, as is Boatwrights at Port Orleans. Maya Grill at the Coronado Springs is nice for a quiet meal but the 'all you can eat' Cowboy Skillet at the Whispering Canyon is my fave!!

We are in the same boat!! done the "Orlando thing" Dennys, Ponderosa, Sizzlers etc also done a few park ones Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, Primetime etc but never been to the resort apart from a food court in All stars when stopping there for a couple of nights last visit.

I am looking to do a few but the choices are too much:confused3 When you are in a park the choice is a bit more limited, but when you are faced with all the places then there are not enough meal times on your holiday to indulge so I am trying to be selective, plus Dh is not very adventurous he likes to stick with what he knows. So I am looking to do maybe 3 or 4,1 breakfast probably Wilderness cafe, (we have no kids this time) A Poly one cant decide a Gf probably GF cafe and maybe Beaches and Cream for an ice cream

I have been told Jiko but the menu seems a bit too different for us.
Am I wrong can plain foodies enjoy?

I would say that Jiko is probably one to avoid for the unadventurous. Take a look at the menu. It's a shame because AKL is a lovely resort to visit, particularly in the evening. You'd probably find Boma a better option.

I really do like bluezoo (and whilst it's mainly a seafood place, elder dd had the most succulent double pork chop there), but for those who're looking for their first resort restaurant experiences, it's as much about seeing the resorts as eating at the restaurants, so the Dolphin (which, of course, isn't a Disney resort as such) probably isn't the best place to start.

The BoardWalk is a fun place to visit. We've outgrown Spoodles a bit, but I'd still recommend it to anyone who hasn't tried it before. Flying Fish cafe is a step up and very popular for a good reason. ESPN is a great place to grab a burger or chilli cheese fries, especially if you're a sports fan (or enjoy the sports bar experience). Another, little known, spot we enjoy is the Crew's Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club. It's the bar which adjoins the Yachtman's Steakhouse and we often go there for a burger and a beer. You can also order from the Yacthman's menu.

With the exception of Victoria and Albert's, I still think California Grill is the best food to be had at any Disney hotel (excluding the non-Disney Swan and Dolphin as they have some places which are probably as good). In a similar vein are Artist's Point at Wilderness Lodge (another lovely resort to check out), Flying Fish Cafe which I've already mentioned, and Citricos and Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian. We ate at Narcoossee's for the first time last October and our entire party (7 of us) thoroughly enjoyed it. We got to see Wishes from the verandah which was a bonus.

On our recent trip we ate at a few of the hotel restaurants mentioned here. Boma and Ohana were our favourites. Ohana had yummy food and the entertainment was good fun. Boma had a huge selection of different foods to try, and a great atmosphere. We liked Blue Zoo, but we did have our children with us which impacted on the romantic atmosphere... and it was double the price of most of our other meals! Breakfast at 1900 Park fare was nice, very good quality food and lots of character interaction. We enjoyed looking round the hotels and soaking up the atmosphere!

Our best meal of the trip was at Red Lobster though!

Good luck with the planning!
