WDW Comp Ticket Question

I know in the past you had to make sure your Comp tickets were in order so you didn’t use a newer one first when scanning into the park. Now that they’re attached to park reservations, does it automatically take the ticket attached to that reservation?

You can link the oldest ticket first for your reservation and it will take it.

That's what I've tried to do, using the oldest tickets first when making reservations. Hopefully it works.
Does WDW main entrance have a way to scan the barcode in the Disney app for entry? I know I can create Magic Mobile, so do I have to do that for everyone who has tickets to get in instead?

I don’t know the answer to that. The last time I used a comp ticket was in January and I linked it to the person in their MyDisney Experience account. I think they were able to scan it from the app but I can’t remember. If you use your guest passes, you won’t have to worry about this (unless the park is blocked out or you have extra guests). I printed all my comp tickets out for Disneyland. Luckily I had co-workers who gave me their comp tickets because I needed 15 for the people going with me for 3 days!! If they open up the MGP guest passes, I will be able to save the comp tickets but I don’t think that is going to happen.

My experience has been that with comps it takes the oldest. All hell can break loose when you have other tickets attached and it uses them in the wrong order. After Covid, I had to buy tickets, and use combinations. I bought a one day ticket for my son to use at Epcot on a day we were blocked. It was a dated ticket, only valid that one day. When we scanned in the day before at MK,it took a day off his 4 day pass (gifted from a TA). So of course when we tried to enter a park the next day, our last day, it said that one day ticket was expired. I could not understand the system not pulling a dated ticket as priority the day before. I have had various problems with priority over the years.

I am going to DL next week and was hoping one day (Thursday) that I have my son and friend using 2 of my comps, would open. So far, no. Will keep checking.

Keep checking for DL since they pop up as CM cancel. Especially at night around 9PM-12AM Pacific. It's very common to grab next day reservation that way.
I guess I'll see how it works the first day at WDW. Usually we had Magic Bands for everyone since they were free. So this is my first time with no MB to scan or hard copy ticket with a RFID chip. But I saw the Comp Ticket says to bring the barcode to a ticket window for a ticket, so I guess I exchange it there. We usually go for Resort Morning Extra Hours so I don't know if ticket windows are open that early though. Maybe we can get them all our first day and not go each day.

My day that I hoped would open to park reservations at DL for MEP was Thursday October 19th. It finally became available Wednesday night (I checked that morning, and no). So at 8 pm on 18th, I was able to get us park reservations for DL for the 19th. First I canceled my self admit Park reservation, and my son and friend canceled theirs using my comp passes. So saved those, at last minute. ( I was even going to check early Thursday morning)

Woot woot! Hope you all had a wonderful time at DL!

DL was great, went to Oogie Boogie party. Did a Halloween brunch at Goofy's Kitchen too. We were in a standard room at GC (got the 50% off but still OUCH!$$).
