WDW Commando Club

:thumbsup2 I new there would be some Pirate Action:yay:

A few things I can add that you might not know, but then again you might:confused3

Mama Melrose - is it the Fantasmic Package:confused3 They offer a reserved section for Fantasmic, it is the same 1 credit TS, might as well get the most out of it :woohoo:
No, just MM lunch w/out Fantasmic!-DS4 isn't up to it yet, maybe next time.

Boatwright's at POR, POR's is a big place, we got off at the 1st stop not knowing, I believe it is the 2nd stop, otherwise you can take a boat upstream
We are staying at POR for the 1st time-very exciting-we will have our car since we are driving the 15+hours from the big KY-so no buses for us-thanks for the tip though, I have heard the buses at POR can be a little hairy!

MNSSHP - see the shows and meet & greets 1st, before the candy, as the night gets later they give you more and more candy:woohoo:
Yep! This will be our 3rd MNSSHP, we have an early dinner ADR at LTT so we will be all ready for the party activities at 7pm.

Pirates League, find out if they still do the parade, if they do a CM is there taking pics that you can get added to the photopass:banana:
Thanks for the heads up! Will do! It's a surprise for DS5, I just bought his pirate costume from the new Disney Store in our area-it's hidden in my closet-he doesn't know we are going to WDW!
.

We did the Pirate Cruise a couple years ago, you meet in a confrence room at the Contemp. Lots of snacks for everyone (load up:rolleyes1) you get a photo opp with Capt Hook & Mr Smee, then you will get on the boat with a pirate host, during the cruise he will ask trivia ?'s if you answer them correct you will get a prize ( son got a pirate skull piggy bank:yay:) after the fireworks when you are getting ready to dock Peter Pan is standing there with Tink in his lantern (Have camera ready) you will not get this shot again, once you dock you can get a pic with PP but the lantern is not there anymore. Not sure if this is still the agenda but thats how it went down when we did it 2 years ago:confused3

Can this be done:confused3 For our next trip I wanted to book a room only for 6 nights, we already have 5 days worth of PH's, Can I purchase a Dining Plan without buying tickets:confused3 And if so do I have to get it for the number of nights we will be there or can I buy just 4 days worth (want to hit a couple of places not on the plan):confused3

You must buy the DDP for EACH night of your stay.

As for purchasing park tickets, I don't believe you have to.

You are required to buy park tickets when it's free dining.

If you cost it out though, you may be just as well to pay OOP for those meals.

Correction
According to there online bookings, you must purchase park tickets.

Although I believe I've read reports of people adding on the DDP at the resort when checking in (I know that's how it's done for DVC).

That's what I got out of it to:confused3

Looks like there could be a possibility we will be there the same time, the 2 weeks we are going back and forth on are

- June 24 - 30
- August 19-25

We'll just miss it next year, we are looking at August 8-18

Free dining starts on the 19th... ;)

I'd rather have the Kids stay+play free, it saved us a touch more, and we want a little earlier in the month this time...it's easier for DW to get middle weeks off then the beginning/end weeks

For our November trip we will be doing a small visit to the Studios. My diema is what to see with about a 6 hour time frame? These are the things that are definitley on the list but am just concerned we will not have enough time. We are taking our FIL, MIL and SIL. FIL will be in a scooter and SIL does not walk fast or far without taking lots of breaks.

Star Tours
Phineas and Ferb
Art of Animation
Osbourne Family Lights
Muppets
Beauty and the Beast

We will not be doing Fantasmic due to one of my daughters fear of loud bangs ehich why we are also skipping the stunt show. There is a possibility of everyone wanting to eat at 50's Prime Time on this night as well.

Can we get this all in at a slow pace?

Star Tours - Fastpass and return later - check
Phineas and Ferb - I'd estimate a 20 minute wait - check
Art of Animation - 30 minutes to walk through (or are you talking the Academy) let's say 1 hour tops. - check
Osbourne Family Lights - 1 hour - check
Muppets - 15 mins - no wait time - check
Beauty and the Beast - 30 minute show - no wait time check

I see no problem with this plan.

The only problem I do see - is the slow pace in the Commando club.

It does not reflect our normal pace. My wifes family has had some struggles this year and we wanted to give them a week to forget their struggles.

I don't think you will have a problem getting this done:woohoo: Just remember to go to Beauty & the Beast & Phineas & Ferb 1st since they will most likely finish for the day early:goodvibes

Ok I got to ask:confused3 Have these deals already been released by Disney, or is this another site's speculation of trends from past years:confused3

I could only find Free DP till the end of March:confused3

Nope I see it now, Free DP till end of Sept, but only for Canadian Residents (guess there is a good shot they will do it for everyone)

Yeah, I found that odd as well... but it is for Canadian residents only.

I've booked it already. I have a friend from work, who I also helped book - he is going the exact same days. First trip there. I told him I will help prepare him with everything he needs to know, and create a plan, make ADR's, learn FP strategies, etc... before he arrives. Once there, he is on his own... :rotfl2:
I can't be his tour guide, I got my only family to lead... :lmao: I need to get me one of them tour guide signs, like the dude from Birds of Prey. :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Ahh my sons Favorite saying - Follow the red flag - I think after I book I'm going to have one made, it would be funny to see the guys face if someone in the audience was waving one:lmao:

From my last trip I know have 3 things to add to the cut list, some might like them, but I found them alittle disappointing

- Journey Into Nardia
- Captain EO
- Hollywood & Vine

Narnia - Absolutly Agree
EO - Was ok, but saw it once, not really worth seeing it again
H&V - Surprisingly despite all the bad reviews it gets here, it's my favorite DHS restaurant so far. Have also tried Mama Melrose, and Sci Fi.
Next year going to try 50's Primtetime.
I am sure Brown Derby is good, but we only do one signature each trip, and next year, it's going to be Hoop De Doo...
