Welcome back:welcome::welcome:! Way to go on the Transportation cards! It's looking for us a 2015 summer visit to WDW with a stay afterwards with some good friends of ours in Maryland for a few days. Our funds are too tight right now for me to start saving till the end of the year for the next trip. A split stay works well for us, and balances what my DH wants and the family want's. I'll have to see what the airfare between Orlando and Baltimore is to see if it's viable. Have a great day!

Trish

You never know, I hope you come into some unexpected funds and can get there sooner:goodvibes

Give me my badge and teach me the secret hand shake!

I am the commando of our family and I run a tight unit. We have never abandoned a mission no matter how sore our feet. I don't get those laid back types who come strolling in the park late with no plan of action, content to do a couple of rides and then try to eat where ever there's an opening because they're to chill to make adrs.

We open parks and many times close them. This is especially true of MK during Christmas because I have to see all the special shows plus the parade. We get in at opening and never miss a fast pass opening. I have our best park days in sync with our ADRs. I have our days planned out from ride sequence to show times and meal times plus character meets. Not a moment is wasted. We have never waited more than 20 minutes in line yet we always go during peak season because of school schedules. We always get the adrs we want because I do it early. Even with tweaking as park schedules and best park days change, we always get the dining we want.

Even though we likely will be back and so far have been blessed to return each year, I treat each vacation as a singular event. Even if I was guaranteed that we would always return, I'd still want to do it all or as much as I could do each time. I have had to rally the troops to my cause on occasion and have even lost my captain once he figured out that he could take the bus and meet up with us at his leisure. He turned out to be a tender-foot that likes to pamper himself with long, luxurious morning showers. He's been demoted. My young soldiers however, are leaner and hungrier for magical memories and pixie dust. They always stay the course.:cool2:

i nominate you for vice pres. of the commando thread.:worship::worship: may favorite sayings, "you can sleep when you get home." "a.i.s. is at 7am, if not there, you will be left behind!" "i did not drive 1100 miles for you to go swimming!" "if god wanted you to walk that slow, he would have only givin you one leg, lets go, chop chop!!!":lmao:

It's looking like the split stay is a go, as the extra cost is minimal to stay at WDW for 7 days, then fly to Baltimore Maryland for 5 days (with 3 flight days AKA days that we are flying from place to place). We've got a place to stay in Baltimore, but will go out and supply our own food, as we don't want to be a burden to our friends that we would be staying with. Time to get in shape and find some part time work in the fall to help supplement the money for the trip so that we can get there sooner. Have a great day!

Looks good to me! Did I read you right, two Halloween nights? FUN!

Yup! We did two parties last year at Disneyland too; expensive, but it was worth it to meet characters that weren't out normally, walk on popular rights, and catch the cool parade and fireworks!

Ron, I did contemplate Whispering Canyon, but I was thinking that one day of no hopping or anything would be nice, so we'll just stay in the park. We'll just say that it's another reason to come back, right?

Ron, I think its about time I join this fine club you have assembled :thumbsup2

The duck is reporting for duty :cool1:

Dobby, I love the way you timed the Halloween parties, enough time between them to get a good feed of snacks that will run out just in time for the second party, so that you can stock up before returning home.
theduck619...WELCOME!:welcome::welcome:

When you go to 1900 Park Fare be sure to try the Strawberry Soup (refer to post 1100:goodvibes)

I second that :thumbsup2. We had it in May and are going again to 1900 Park Fare in Nov. All of the food was good and the stepsisters are excellent entertainment.

I guess I'll start a trip report soon, that is if anyone wants to read it:confused3

The Magic at WDW is all around you, but sometimes you have to make it happen:goodvibes This is my best Commando adventure that I helped along abit:goodvibes

As most of you know I always get a haircut at noon at the Harmony Barber Shop, it about 11:45 and we were in the store next to the Barber shop (I was checking out something for Deb's document, when I saw the Dapper Dans walking through the store, my wife and son were across the store so I went up to them and asked if they were going to be at the Barber shop at noon, They said they would try to make it after the Main Street show:woohoo:

I then told them how 8yrs earlier on our Honeymoon they cornered us in the store across the street (we were wearing the Bride and Groom ears) and sung "When You Wish Upon A Star" to us and she will never forget it:goodvibes

About 12:05 they walk into the Barber Shop (my son was in the chair already) they came up to me and asked what my wife's name was:) They then called her out and said they understand that 8yrs ago they cornered us in a store and sang "When You Wish Upon A Star" she said yes you did.

One of the Dapper Dans then said Guys you know what we got to do:confused3 they than sang "When You Wish Upon A Star" to us in the Barber Shop (my wife started crying abit:lmao:, this song lasts forever when someone is sining it to you:lmao:) when they were done we gave each other a big kiss and everyone clapped:goodvibes

I guess that topped the $100 GC for WDW and dinner to the Outback I gave her 2 weeks earlier:rolleyes1

Although there were alot more unplanned things that happened on this trip, IMO this one was the best, You gotta love The Dapper Dans they are AWESOME:yay:

A guy I went to high school with used to sing with the Dapper Dans. I got goose bumps from your story. Loved it! Disney Magic for sure!!:thumbsup2

A little trivia (you probably will never guess)

- What ride did we go on the most (it is a tie at 9 times)

- Who was the 1st to sign my sons autograph book

- What saying has my son picked up from a show (has no idea what it refers to:lmao:)

I will be shocked if anyone guesses these I have told no one this info, but the answers are pretty interesting:rolleyes1

I'll try to do better next time....

This was my fave achievment from our last full day at MK
