You do know I am trying to get to bed, right?
Somewhere in Time was filmed at Mackinac Island. You can see it in the north end of Lake Huron to the right of your line of travel. If you want to go see the Grand Hotel you have to take a ferry and then walk or take a horse drawn cart to the hotel. Only locals may have cars.
To do this you will want to schedule a day so your trip will be more than the previously stated 21 hours.

What a great movie that is!

And, in Lake Superior, west of where you will see it at Sault Ste Marie locks, is WHITEFISH BAY, made famous by the wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald. I always thought that happened a long time ago, but it did not. She sunk in 1975.

My mom is there right now! I logged on and thought my mom was posting as she has the same name as you.

Good morning all!
Didn't watch any Olympics last night, but did watch some over the weekend. I enjoy watching some of the events. I like seeing the underdog come in and do better than expected. I feel sorry for one of the Canadian swimmers. She missed her first event because she's come down with chicken poxWhat a disappointment for her and her family.
eeeeekkkkk Chicken pox how awful! I haven't heard of someone getting chicken pox in a decade! I haven't had the chicken pox, so it scares me when I hear about it.
I thought I would have some pictures to share but Jon didn't put the pictures on the computer yet. Venetia hasn't sent me theirs yet. As for stories...I guess I could summarize for all that are interested.
We got there Friday at lunch time and met Venetia, Steph and Taylor at Venetia and Bubba's house. We went to Chilis for lunch and spoke to a jealous Bubba a few times on the phone because he had to work. We had a few drinks at lunch and headed back to their house. The rest of the night we just drank and played poker while the kids played video games. We went to bed at about 2:00 am. Saturday we went to a pizza place and celebrated 3 birthdays, Brooke, Emily (Tim and Lori's daughter) and Dom (Marr's son). Bubba and Venetia went all out and ordered a cake and we all brought gifts for the kids. Here is a list of the people that were there:
Me, Jon, Ethan and Brooke
Bubba and Venetia
Kim and Jerry (my sis and bil), Josh (my nephew)
Steph and Taylor
Marr, Aaron (her neighbor), Hannah (his daughter), Jacinda and Dom
Tim, Lori, Kristen and Emily
Heather and Cameron
I hope I didn't forget anyone. We went to the fair after the party and had a great time eating and drinking beer. I did not see any fried pb cups so I was a little disappointed. Then we went back to their house to drink margaritas. All was well until Marr got her car towed at 1:00 am. She had to pay $250.00 to get it out of impound. So that was a serious buzz killer. Then we woke up to chirizo breakfast burritos and it made everything better.
I'm sure there is more but I'll have to see the pictures to rememberI'll have Jon put them on tonight, even though I think Bubba's are better.
The picture are really good! Where did you guys go Oxnard Fair?
Zoe has been asking about Emily, we wondered where they've been???
I've lived in the midwest for 25 years and I have always wanted to go to Mackinac Island. To make matters worse, I believe wecould use DVC points to do an exchange and stay at the Grand Hotel.
Hey - I've just realized - I've got an anniversary - I have officially been a Chicagoan for 25 years! I moved into my first apartment in Chicago on August 5, 1983.
We saw the DVC points too and if it wasn't so darn far away from everything we'd go too! But if Chicago gets the bid for the Olympics in 2016, we'll be going then!!!!
It was great! Dumb & Dumber didn't both show up. Apparently she couldn't get off work, so it was just his dad. Yeah, right. I suspect she's either still too mad to be in the same room as me, or she's embarrassed about how she was acting. Don't know, don't care. His dad and I both told the doctor all the improvements we've seen, and I shared what the school has been saying. The Dr. gave Tyler a high five and told him he's proud of him for doing so well. His dad told the Dr. all about his friend's autistic nephew who used to take the same med (at 8 times the dose Tyler takes) and how they switched him to a different type of atypical antipsychotic med, etc. The Dr. told him, "Well, you have to understand that people with autism are much more sensitive to medications and the side effects that don't usually show up in people without autism." And that was the end of that subject.![]()
The Dr. wants to keep him at the same dose, with med checks every month but he'll space them out more if he continues to show good results. Then maybe after another 6 months, he wants to wean him off to see how he does. I wasn't sure about that, but my best friend who is a nurse told me that's common practice for that type of med. She says usually after 6 months of good behavior, they cut the dose back to see if the good behavior continues on its own. Ok, makes sense to me.![]()
Great news, Holly.
I deliver that message 3 times a morning on Sundays at my getting started sessions.
But it is a good argument for anyone to engage in weight training.
Our cultures and environments and lifestyle have changed over time, but genetics has not.
Xllnt words.
