For some reason multi-quoting isn't working so hopefully I remember everything I was going to comment on before going to bed.

That drink recipe looks super-yummy:banana:  but I think they should have some banana to it.:thumbsup2

So somebody is preggers and its not Gaylean, Steph, Venetia or Bubba :confused3 but some of them are eating sourcream, cheese and watermelon anyways :confused3 If that's the weird combination when you aren't pregnant what did you eat when you were pregnant? And who is pregnant? Jon? The real pregnancy food test is peanutbutter with sour gummy worms :thumbsup2

Holly - sounds like Tyler's appointment was super positive :thumbsup2

Venetia - checked out your photosite - some really great pics. I had to post comments on a few :)

And I'm sure I'm forgetting something I was going to comment on :upsidedow , but I've gone through and clicked on everything twice for multiquotes and I'm too tired to scan back thorugh a third time:wave2:

Good night folks!

Yes fried Peanut Butter Cups. Monica said they had them at her fair so we were excited to get them but the only had fried twinkies and snickers and something else but I can't remember. We've seen everything from fried pop tarts to fried pepsi. Don't ask how, I have no idea!

Fried Snickers taste like hot- out-of-the-oven chocolate chip cookies.

Fried Pepsi is made of dough that uses Pepsi as the only liquid and then 'TIS fried.

I tried the former and thought my own cookies are better. I won't waste my money on the latter.
"
Much ado about nothing...

(Gee, that might make a good title for a play :rotfl:

Jon said he hopes he prego so he can lose 100 pounds soon. I told him it doesn't work that way but he didn't believe me.

I might eat a boot if it was fried

Can someone post the info from Holly's last few posts over on the Tortola thread? I'm DISing on the raspberry and don't have the flexibility to have two webpages open at once.

THANKS :)

Jan :earsgirl:

Don't they have a thread yet? :sad1: :sad1:

I'll let you know by 9/12/09...OK??? :goodvibes

Too late then!

Yes indeed! I got off the ship, walked across the street, and there's the tram. I think it's called Paradise Point Tramway or something like that.

Yup again! It was VERY inexpensive and beautiful! But by the time I found a friend to go with me, it was all booked for the week I wanted I think.

Here it is: http://paradisepointtramway.com/cottage.html

I really fancy going up there.

Marilyn - that is perfect English, and means exactly the same thing here.

(I must say, your English is coming along quite nicely...)

Thank you kind sir.:)

I find that it is best when dealing with Michelle to be coy and subtle ... observe and you will learn ...

Hey Michelle! We want you to come on the flippin' cruise with us!

Notice I emphasis the coyness and subtlety.

.

:lmao: :lmao:

Jackie.. neither one of us is going to remember the tram ride down... ;)

Now, look at your English again!!!:) (is)

It was great! Dumb & Dumber didn't both show up. Apparently she couldn't get off work, so it was just his dad. Yeah, right. I suspect she's either still too mad to be in the same room as me, or she's embarrassed about how she was acting. Don't know, don't care. His dad and I both told the doctor all the improvements we've seen, and I shared what the school has been saying. The Dr. gave Tyler a high five and told him he's proud of him for doing so well. His dad told the Dr. all about his friend's autistic nephew who used to take the same med (at 8 times the dose Tyler takes) and how they switched him to a different type of atypical antipsychotic med, etc. The Dr. told him, "Well, you have to understand that people with autism are much more sensitive to medications and the side effects that don't usually show up in people without autism." And that was the end of that subject. ;)

The Dr. wants to keep him at the same dose, with med checks every month but he'll space them out more if he continues to show good results. Then maybe after another 6 months, he wants to wean him off to see how he does. I wasn't sure about that, but my best friend who is a nurse told me that's common practice for that type of med. She says usually after 6 months of good behavior, they cut the dose back to see if the good behavior continues on its own. Ok, makes sense to me. :thumbsup2

Good news and well done Tyler.

Don't they have a thread yet? :sad1: :sad1:

Yes there is a thread and some other great folk there, but our group seems to take over when we chat there and I wonder if the others find that difficult.

Don't forget that muscle weighs more than the same volume of fat. So you are losing fat and gaining muscle which takes up less space so clothes fit better as well as you being stronger.

:yay: WAY TO GO WII FIT PEOPLE!! :cheer2:

Jan :earsgirl:

Muscle also burns more energy than fat. That's why men get more points than women. If you have a man and a woman, each weighing 150 pounds, the man needs more points because the 150 pounds is denser muscle.

Sorry that's just the way it is, but it is also a good reason for muscle mass.

I want to share a secret with you...

Michelle's Birthday is Coming!

That used to upset us at WW. The men used to get more points and lose more weight too!!! So unfair.

I deliver that message 3 times a morning on Sundays at my getting started sessions.

But it is a good argument for anyone to engage in weight training.

Our cultures and environments and lifestyle have changed over time, but genetics has not.

Our cultures and environments and lifestyle have changed over time, but genetics has not.

That is very true.

Unfortunately we ladies can feel so bad about ourselves if we are very overweight and flabby, and the time it would take to build muscles that would help our weight loss I think we fail before we start! :lmao:

Further on my message, I try to help members understand and get comfortable with the idea that their weight loss is a process and a journey, not a race or an event. Because they can, develop habits that will help them to continue on once they have reached their goal.

This comes up every week.

It's not that having a celebration and eating a bit more is of itself a bad thing, it's when that happens everyday and every meal.

IPF - Items. Portion. Frequency.

Items - what is it.

Portion - How much of it.

Frequency - How often? Pizza is not bad and of itself, but perhaps having an extra large pizza, everyday, might be a behavior to examine.

OK - I have let the dogs out and get ready to leave for work.

Here endith the lesson.

We are back from SoCal and it turned out to be a rewarding trip.

My father was released from the hospital on Friday, so he was able to attend the game. His physical recover has been amazing, but his cognitive status is still questionable. He will need to move into an assisted living setting in the very near future. However, he was able to handle all of the hoopla on Saturday night pretty well. It was a little overwhelming, at one point there was said to be a few thousand people in line for his autograph - who would have thunk it - really who would want my dad's signature? He stuck it out until the end. His friends from NASA were in attendance and they treated it as a retirement party. He is officially retired now after 50 years with NASA. He unofficially retired a few years ago, but has been writing a book at Dryden since that time. They presented him with a poster that pictured many of the planes he had flown over the 50 years. One included all of us kids with him by the X-248 (I think). Maybe I could take a picture of it. Below is a article they wrote in the local paper.

Finally, my sister called and told me about this:

We could be rich - we have a whole case of these in our garage now.

Anyway, it's good to have him home.
Wow! Every time I read an article you post about your dad, I'm in awe all over again. What an incredible history you can share with your kids. How cool to have such an important guy as your dad! :goodvibes

I'm glad he's out of the hospital and was able to attend the game. :thumbsup2
