Hi everyone!

I had a great catch-up breakfast with Jackie on Sat. I've done a little reading here and there and have a bit of an idea of what's going on with everyone. to those who need them and a very MERRY CHRISTMAS to everyone celebrating this week.

I'm hoping to get my DIS friends' cards out today! Thanks to everyone who has sent me one! Mine may not get to you before Xmas but that doesn't diminish the love that they contain!

Everyone has family crisis and it appears that I'm getting my share now. It's not really a surprise. My heart is very heavy today. Don't have the inclination nor the energy to go into it any more than that for now. Prayers would be appreciated.

Better sharpen my pencil and get to work!:artist:

Ian you are such a nut.....I got a good chuckle when I used Google translate. Thanks.

:grouphug: for Cherie

Ian - you're a goof, but :cool1: :woohoo: my highschool French lessons paid off, and I could get the jist of your instructions.

Nan - great idea for the Wii packaging! I hope Wil and Molly feel better soon.

Deborah - I hope Olivia is feeling better.

Just popping in to say hi as I take a coffe break at work.

Thanks Deb. Got all the boarding passes printed and the kiddos are coming to get them tonight and pizza too.

Should be fun fun fun...

Oh the doctor visit.

Wilson does have an ear infection (raging big one)

And Molly's is on her way to a sinus infection

and both of them have HUGE tonsils...I think this will lead to them being watched and maybe out in the near future...we will see...

Both kids are on antibotics and I have numbing drops for Wilson. His ear is gone hurt like a bugger on that flight. Poor baby. He came home and cried he was stressed :sad2:

Poor Wilson and Molly oh no and especially Wilson on the airplane. Too bad you can't give them something to help them sleep thru it. I hope the numbing drops work for Wil. We'll be thinking of them both....poor babes.

Nan - that's bad about Wil and Molly. Hopefully the numbing drops work for Wil. For getting the tonsils out, if you think they will eventually need them out, I recommend sooner than later. I got mine out 5 years ago and was the first couple of days after just hell. It was day surgury, and then home to lay in bed, and let Ken take care of little Shaelyn and me. Basically try to sleep as much as possible, take the pain meds as soon as possible. Ken had to mash them up because I couldn't swallow a pill. The doctor said, the older you are the worse it is, so hopefully they don't have to wait until their 30-something. On a positive note, way less problems with infections since they came out :thumbsup2

How awful before a trip. Please give the kids my best, and a hug to boot.

But, thanks.

Nan, the numbing drops work wonders, Wilson won't feel a thing. Tyler's only had one or 2 ear infections ever, but one time we found out about one the day before flying Florida. Dr. gave me the numbing drops and he was fine, didn't make a peep. And since you have antibiotics, both kids will be starting to feel better in a day or 2. Big hugs for both of them from me!

OK, well how about Tonga Toast from the Kona Cafe?

Tonga Toast

Ingredients:

2 or 4 slices sourdough bread, cut 1 to 1 1/2 inches thick
1 banana
1/3 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 egg
1/4 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
oil or shortening for frying
whipped butter and/or syrup

Method:

Cut a 1-inch pocket in one side of each bread slice. Cut banana in half crosswise, then split each piece lengthwise. Remove peel and stuff two pieces of fruit in each pocket of bread; set aside. Mix sugar and cinnamon; set aside. Mix together well the egg, milk and vanilla.

Heat about 4 inches of oil in a pan to 350º F. Dip stuffed bread into egg/milk mixture and let it soak a few seconds to let penetrate bread. Fry bread on both sides in hot oil until lightly browned, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels or wire rack. Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar and serve

Nan, When Daniel was in 5th and 6th grade, the doctor kept saying "one more strep throat and we are taking those tonsils out". When I would tell her that she said that last strep throat she would say..."yup next time".

Well, we never took them out and once in middle school, he has never had another strep throat...just out grew it I guess. I hope the same for your kids.

Daniels poker party was a big success last night. They finished up at 3am. They were quiet enough....for 20 each 19 year old kids!!

Daniel lost, but he said everyone had a really fun night.

Of all of his friends, he is the only one who came home to a job. No one else is working. Sign of the times for employment.

He has worked everyday. he has Christmas eve and Christmas day off. Then he is off to a VA Tech bowling tournament in PA and then NJ. I know he iwll be in Cherry Hill NJ. He will be back the 30th and then back to work

Des Oeufs Bouilli

2 Eggs per person
Water
Salt

Place eggs in water. Bring to a boil. Boil for 10 minutes.

May be served hot or chilled.

But I like them a bit on the runny side...

If I want a 'hot' boiled egg I only bring to boil and then simmer for 3-4 mins!!! Just right for set whites and slightly soft yolk!!!

Hard boiled eggs to eat cold I simmer for about 6 mins then turn off the heat and leave for 6 mins, then plunge into cold water.

Deviled eggs...

Cherie... lots of hugs and love for whatever it is... we're here for you... :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

One package of hot chocolate mix in a mug, add hot water, drop a Hershey kiss in, add a handful of miniature marshmallows, and stir. So it's basically just hot chocolate with a Hershey kiss added, with marshmallows on top, but Tyler received a cute snowman mug with enough ingredients for 2, it had a cute poem about it, and the mug has a spoon attached that you can remove for stirring. It was cute, so we continued doing it with our own ingredients. You can also stir it with a candy cane. :goodvibes

Add some peppermint schnaaps and I'm a happy camper... :goodvibes

I had mine out when I was 18... did NOT do the soft foods deal... the dr. told me that the sooner I'd eat the better I'd be. He was right... I was not allowed to have salt or soda but anything else was fine. I wanted burger King... it took me 1/2 a day to eat it... but it tasted SO good!!!
