So I'm on the verge of rejoining Weight Watchers online. Almost clicked and joined tonight, but I need to wait until after Christmas shopping. Exercise just isn't working out for me with my knees. So it looks like my only option is to lose weight by better food choices, at least until I lose enough to ease the burden on my knees a little. I've gained back about half what I lost and can barely squeeze into my clothes, and buying a whole new wardrobe is not in the budget, so......have to lose. :sad2:

I KNOW!!! So do WW online again. It works. I started up again too. I've been adding the exercise bike. After one month I lost 8 lbs. I just started and have had my birthday and thanksgiving weekend since I started. Now we're going away again and when we get back it's Christmas. So I will be taking it easy, but not tracking while on vaca. I'll start up again strictly when we get back home. Hopefully I can maintain and not gain back the 8 pounds. I'm going to try.

You can do it too. WW is easy and it works. All you have to do is shop and have the right foods in the house. Go for it!!

WOW Holly.....that REALLY sucks. I'm sorry that your firm didn't let you know in advance about no more vacation pay.....before you took off. OH well....too late now. See if you can get a part time job for now to cover the expenses. When you catch up, see if your company will pay you for two or three vacation days.....it's a start. You have a great company other than this one thing. Maybe in time they can add more days for you.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
There was no way for them to give any advance notice since it all happened so fast. They had no idea what they'd be able to offer, no time to even think about it. They weren't really even set up as a business, just needed us to start working and figure it all out later, no time for them to really plan anything, just one day had to start fresh and figure it out as they go. I had to leave the old place because they were going to fire us any day. No real choices there. It is what it is. I've tried to get part time jobs but the problem is finding a place willing to let somebody work every other week when Tyler is gone. I'm going to start looking again over the weekend. :thumbsup2

Thanks Holly, but it's going to be a no frills vacation. I'll be seeing lots of people that I love and I'll be looking at lots of houses. I won't be going to the parks. I probably won't see Mickey except for Downtown Disney. But when I see him welcome everyone at the entrances, I will say hello for you and Tyler. It will just be nice to be in FL and to see everyone.
Well, just give all our friends hugs for me and that's just as good as Mickey hugs. :grouphug:

Yeah, I did so well before, so I know it works great for me, it's just a matter of willpower and being ready to crack down. I've just been in such a major comfort food phase lately, just sitting around and eating nonstop every day, piles and piles of comfort foods until I feel sick from being overstuffed. I'm getting close though.

Hmmm.....I could do sit ups and other ab exercises. That obviously has nothing to do with my knee and would still be doing SOMETHING physical. :thumbsup2 Just thinking out loud.

Now....off to bed. Long day tomorrow. Haven't been able to budget a haircut in YEARS (just been pulling it all into a pony tail and cutting off an inch now and then to prevent split ends), and haven't had a perm in about 8 years. I used to always keep a curl in because otherwise, when my hair gets long it gets straggly looking because I have naturally bone straight hair. So I'm sacrificing some Christmas shopping money and finally getting a perm tomorrow after work, which I'm not looking forward to because in addition to the cost keeping me away, the TIME SITTING THERE keeps me away. With my length hair it will take 3 hours, 2 hours of just wrapping. Ugggghhh........I hate it but it so desperately needs it. I'll feel better if I look better and I think that might help me get motivated to take better care of myself by getting my eating under control.

I understand. I guess that means your year end bonus is out. So sorry. Try to find a typing job. Maybe look on a local campus bulletin board. OR put an ad in the paper for doing light assistant work, i.e. mail, calendar, typing ..... do it freelance. Then you could do it from home.

It's called depression, probably from the job/financial situation. The comfort food makes you happy when you're sad. You'll work through it and when you're ready you'll do it.

No bonus. We never got much of one anyway, only $250. Other firms pay a couple thousand or more for a Christmas bonus, one friend usually gets $3000 every Christmas. I'd love to go work where she does, but it's a small firm, just her and another assistant, so no openings.

Yes, I look for that type of work, but that type of administrative work is only daytime hours, office hours. I've never come across any nighttime work or work at home work like that, and my computer isn't good/reliable enough to try to do it at home, and no printer (plus there are too many weirdos in the world for me to feel comfortable putting an ad in the paper). So the part-time jobs I've been looking at are fast food, video stores, cashier jobs, etc. That type of job is always hiring but they want consistency, not every other week. But I keep looking and will renew my search over the weekend.

I know I need to, have needed to for a couple years but just can't afford it. But I'm doing it anyway and will just be short elsewhere. It all works out anyway, so it will be fine. I'm returning some Christmas lights and decorations because I overbought, and that will cover about 1/3 of the hair expense, so that makes it doable. :thumbsup2 All is good.

Oh well, it was just a thought. Have you tried www.ebates.com? You get paid for shopping. It's like rebate money. Go there and register. It's not a lot, but it will help.

Also.. the QM and I went to Wheatfields for lunch today... it's restaurant week here in Saratoga so we got lunch for $10 each...

I got the Gnocchi pomodoro (not my picture...)
