Hoping to do some grocery shopping over the weekend and stock up with better choices and take back control over my eating. There's a spark of motivation, but not sure if its enough to carry through. We'll see!

We used to go through that when the QM used to perm her hair... stinky!!!

In summer I used to kid her that we should go for a ride and stick her head out the window... poor people down wind...

Need to quit being lazy and get the kitchen cleaned up. I promised Tyler I would before he comes home from his dad's. He likes to get his own meals sometimes, and I want to encourage that independence, of course, but the kitchen is too cluttered to allow that to happen. Its not that we're pigs, it's just such a small space with very little storage or counter space, so stuff gets piled up quickly. I have about 2 feet of counter space, but that's mostly taken up by a dish drying rack and toaster, so we use a microwave cart for added counter space. And that's piled with crap. So that's my goal for tomorrow. I'd like us to be able to make Christmas cookies this week, so we need a little space for that!

Just catching up on stuff I've got going on the DVR... Iron Chef and lots of Christmas specials I really don't need to watch.. but well...

The Xmas gifts started arriving today... my sister always does her shopping the weekend after thanksgiving. Stuff for mom.. nothing for me yet... probably won't be this year. ohh well..

The QM always loved Fudgies candies from Kraft.. but they don't make them anymore.. but I found out that the monastery nuns are making them to raise money for their projects... so I ordered them from there... Too bad I couldn't afford the 5 lb box.. but then again.. that's probably a good thing... lol

Busy busy busy. Had to return Santa's gift for Tyler because I found out today his dad & stepmom got the same thing. Dad told me "Tyler was supposed to tell you weeks ago that's what we're giving him for Christmas." Wow, how boring for a 10 year old to know what he's getting so far ahead of time. So now to rethink and come up with magical surprises. Easy enough though. There are so many things I know he wants. It just kind of sucks to have my perfect gift for him go POOF. But that's my issue to deal with.....just need to suck it up and be happy that he's getting what he wanted more than anything. Doesn't matter who it comes from.

No, a friend suggested that I ask if we can split the cost and say it's from all of us to make things "even" for all and avoid Tyler "playing favorites". He agreed and I'll be giving him my share of the price next time I see him.

BIG Christmas bonus check today! MORE than double what we used to get at our old firm! Plus a wrapped present: a big box of Hershey's Pot of Gold chocolates, plus we were told we're all being taken out for Christmas lunch this Friday. AND..........



They're working on health insurance options for me!!!!!!

First I have to get the tie rods repaired. That comes first because even if I have new tires, if the tires fall OFF, I won't get very far. I'm planning on dropping the car off tomorrow morning to have it checked out and get an estimate while I'm at work tomorrow.

And I applied at a local video store, Family Video, because when renting a video recently, the manager told me she has other workers who work every other week, so she'd likely be able to do that for me too if I were hired. Fingers crossed!
