Well.. I spent part of the day snoozing... got up feeling crappy.. it's the weather.. and then I got up, hit Wendy's for dinner and I've been sewing ever since. I got the cording done and I've cut out the lining and the backing and I attached the cording to the stocking. The rest needs to be sewed together tomorrow.. I am tired.

We close on the loan tomorrow. I hope the money is in the bank asap after. I want to get the roof done asap.

Yeah he slept until 8am today which is about 2 hours late for him. He never sleeps in. I'd say only about 5 times in his life so far, no exaggerating. Today was still a rough day. Just a rough week all around, most definitely from the adjustment getting back to the school routine after the holiday break. It will be really bad for him the 2 weeks before Christmas because the anticipation throws him all off, and then the week after Christmas break is rough getting readjusted again to the school routine. Holidays are rough for kids like him . I just have to remember that.

That makes a lot of sense. Change is hard for anyone, but I'm sure it's especially hard for Tyler. If you could tell him in advance of all the changes coming it might be helpful for him. It's good that you remember how challenging it is for him.

Yup! We've already some. :) Walgreens has tons of Mickey stuff every holiday.

WOW that's great to know. We don't have a Walgreens near us, we have to go down to Lehigh Valley which is about 30 miles away. So we don't get there often. BUT in Florida there are lots of them. I'll look while we are there this week. Thanks.

Not very happy tonight...

the problems with my sister are getting to me... sucks especially when it happens around the holidays.

I need a hug...

I know how you feel. Tristan is out of my life now too, but I hate it. Tom and Kris also, for a different reason, but all the same in the end. It does especially suck around the holidays. But it is what it is and nothing is going to change it back again. So we move forward without them and it's their loss more than ours, but it's our loss too.

HUGS SHELL!!!

Exhausted. Busy all weekend. Decorating most of yesterday before and after movie and dinner with one of Tyler's friends and her mom. Church today, then had to run out to a store, then put up more outside decorations, then we helped a friend move (his teacher he had for grades 1,2,3,4). After Tyler's dad picked him up I spent the evening on the couch, watching TV and stuffing myself. :thumbsup2

I'm exhausted just reading this. Glad you got to chill when Tyler's dad picked him up.

Sorry you were feeling crappy Shell. My arthritis is kicking in too. Maybe it is the weather. I'm glad to be going to Florida on Thursday. I think we're leaving about midnight Wednesday night. John wants to be past D.C. by rush hour.

WOO HOO MICKEY here we come!!!!!

Except for the last minute items, I'm packed and ready to go. Good thing too.....John has off tomorrow. He's picking up the car rental and we're packing it up and leaving around midnight. I've got to do my nails and then I'm done. I'm looking forward to going house hunting and to seeing so many friends again. This will be a fun trip.

We can't put any money down to hold something if we want to rent it. It's way too early. John said we probably won't get out of here until spring. I can't see bringing a moving van up our driveway in the winter. It's just not going to happen. So we'll be back down again another time before we move. It will be after John retires in February. It's good because it will give us time to save up some money. We're going to need a lot of it.

I saw the 2014 new itineraries out for DCL. I want to book the western going to Jaimaica....but I can't. I have to focus on the move and can't even think about cruising for a while. It's killing me though.:confused3:eek::confused3

I lost all my email addresses when I switched laptops. I have to retype the Christmas card list into this computer too. But if anyone needs a copy, I can send it to you if you send me your email address again. Thanks.

I know the feeling. No vacations in our future. It's really hard. With our old firm I had 5 weeks paid vacation, but now I have none. With such a small business, and the first year of startup business expenses, there's no money to offer us paid vacations. Knowing that, I should have cancelled the 4 weeks (the 2 week Hawaii, 1 week TN and 1 week up north MI) we had planned at the time of the job upheaval, but I wasn't smart and just went with it, not fully realizing how hard it would impact me losing all those weeks of pay plus paying for the trips on top of the lost pay (except Hawaii, my mom paid lots of that one for birthday and Christmas). So each time after getting back, I fell behind financially and it snowballed. Now that means no more missing work at all. Maybe one day here and there to make a long weekend, but that's it. At least until I find another job (which is tricky because it has to be somebody willing to be flexible all the times I get phone calls to go remove Tyler from school and take him back to work with me). So for now, no vacations in the near future.

Deb, have a MAGICAL vacation!!!! :goodvibes Tyler's and my hearts ache for Mickey, so give him a big hug for us please! ::yes:: I hope you have an amazing time! :cool1:

Well.. maybe someday you can come and visit here... Lots of history for Tyler!

Come on Jumpin Jacks is even on the Erie Canal!

Trying to go see the Macy's Thanksgiving parade next year. I've always wanted to see it and not only will Tyler be with me that week next year, Thanksgiving is also my holiday. I'd only have to take one day off work, Wednesday, because Thurs and Fri are paid days off for the holiday. :thumbsup2

So I'm on the verge of rejoining Weight Watchers online. Almost clicked and joined tonight, but I need to wait until after Christmas shopping. Exercise just isn't working out for me with my knees. So it looks like my only option is to lose weight by better food choices, at least until I lose enough to ease the burden on my knees a little. I've gained back about half what I lost and can barely squeeze into my clothes, and buying a whole new wardrobe is not in the budget, so......have to lose. :sad2:

WOW Holly.....that REALLY sucks. I'm sorry that your firm didn't let you know in advance about no more vacation pay.....before you took off. OH well....too late now. See if you can get a part time job for now to cover the expenses. When you catch up, see if your company will pay you for two or three vacation days.....it's a start. You have a great company other than this one thing. Maybe in time they can add more days for you.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

Thanks Holly, but it's going to be a no frills vacation. I'll be seeing lots of people that I love and I'll be looking at lots of houses. I won't be going to the parks. I probably won't see Mickey except for Downtown Disney. But when I see him welcome everyone at the entrances, I will say hello for you and Tyler. It will just be nice to be in FL and to see everyone.

Sounds like fun. It's the one thing in NYC that I have not done. I would like to one day, but probably won't get the chance anymore, not after we move. I will have to look forward to when you and Tyler do it.
