Well, I'm back....so it's not just the two of you anymore. Now it's the three of us. Michelle, the others will pop back over from time to time, no need to push them into it.

Holly, that's great news about the Christmas bonus. It sounds promising for the future too. If they are starting to increase the bonus this year, chances are good that they will continue doing that each year.

Fingers crossed about the video store hiring you for part time every other week. That would help a lot.

We had a very successful trip to Florida. We found where we want to live. YAY! It's beautiful and it's very Floridian with a Palm tree in the front yard. Cool!

We arrived on Friday and did family.....Unc Teddy, cuzzie Doug, who is getting married in January! YAY!! ....we did them on Saturday and Sandi on Sunday. John spent some alone time with her and asked her 20 questions to see how she is dealing with Joe's death. He said that she is mourning him, but that she has her head on straight. She has her job and plans for where she is going to live after Joe's grandmother passes. She and Joe lived with his grandmother and took care of her. Now Sandi and Kris are living with Grandma and taking care of her. Sandi said that Kris turned his life around. He's got two jobs and has taken over payments on Joe's truck. He got his GED so now he's graduated from High School at least. He got his license. He only had a permit before. John said he still didn't want to see him because he would want to beat the pulp out of him. So Sandi came to see us without Kris. We didn't go there.

Monday we started house hunting. Monday we saw horrible houses. Tuesday they were better and doable but no WOW factor. Wednesday we found the WOW and where we wanted to live. The homes are beautiful, the gated community is beautiful, the area is perfect. It's in Haines City....right on and off I4 on Highway 27. Monica's house is not far. In fact, we're right down the road from the Lowes where she shops. Disney is only 15-20 minutes until you're on property, depending on traffic. John wants to work the night shift so that should not be a problem for him. It sure beats the commute that John is doing now. HaHaHa!

Thursday was for Thieves and friends. We did drinks with Peggy Jo and Marlene (Monica's friend and cruising buddy) and Jackie and Monica and Cheri. Then Matt and Jill and Lilly surprised us by showing up. Then Ian and Sukie and Bubba and V all came for dinner at Boma. It was a wonderful night with good friends.

Friday we spent the day at Epcot with Peg, Jackie, Marlene, Monica and me and John. We raced scooters around the world showcase. Haha. It was a nice leisurely day spent with good friends.

Friday night we packed up and left at 7am Saturday morning. John drove straight through from Orlando to home. It took him 17 hours with stops for gas only. You must take care of business during the gas stops. We stop at McDonalds every time we stop for gas to use their facilities. They are much cleaner.

We got home at midnight and then I slept all day Sunday. I missed all the football games. It's a good thing because the Giants got beat very badly.

Deb, sounds like a wonderful, productive and successful trip! :)

$856 car repair bill! Ugghhh.....the video store better hire me right away! This isn't helping me rebuild my backup funds. Scary place to be. It will happen though. Patience. I will rebuild as soon as I start working a 2nd job. Yup, all will be fine.

Ouch, that stinks and so close to the holidays. We got a quote to reroof our house. We were planning on doing it this summer. Needless to say, $35 grand, we will be doing it next summer. :scared:

Well I'm done Christmas shopping, so that doesn't matter, but I wouldn't have that much money any time of year, LOL!

Ouch on your roof expense! I'd better start saving money now for that because I only have a few years left before I'll probably need one. Yikes!

I don't think I ever remember a year with no snow so late in the season. Strange.

Wow... our quote came in for only $6 grand... but it's a townhouse. Want me to send the guy down to you?

Make sure you get several quotes... the quotes we got were several thousand apart... we're going with the guy we chose because he's done many of the roofs here in our complex and he was very good.

You never have any money if you have a car for sure. Sorry you need a second job but i hope the right one comes along very soon for you.

I just laughed at the amount, I said to DH, "that is way too many Disney cruises". We have alot of roof, over 4000 square feet, but "Holy Cow!"

We will be getting alot of quotes. :thumbsup2

I've been pretty lucky and this is the first expense with this car (it's a 2003 and I've had it since 2005). :goodvibes I've always heard Toyotas and Hondas, you can't kill 'em. They supposedly run forever. And so far, my Toyota is holding true to that! :thumbsup2 Knock on wood. Add another $400 to that price for tires too. BUT.....I got a phone call today from the video store asking me to come for an interview. My interview is Sunday afternoon. I wasn't sure if I should have told him on the phone that I'm only available every other week, to avoid possibly wasting his time, or if I should just wait until the interview because if he likes me enough, maybe he can work with me. A different manager there told me they often do that kind of schedule, so I'm hoping it's still so.

Sorry about the price for repairs to your car, but getting an interview with the video store is great!!! Don't tell them anything negative. Talk about hours when they bring up the hours. First let them get to know you. You'll be perfect for the job. You're a people person. You'll probably like it too. It's an interview. So let them get to know you and your qualifications. Good luck!!!

Hi Marilyn! Did you and John already do the QE2? If so, how was it? If not, when are you doing it?

Can you believe it's only five more days until Christmas? Last year at this time I was at the hospital with Ray. A lot has happened in this past year. It seems like it was longer ago that we lost Ray.

WOW Cork that's a lot of money for a roof. Think of all the cruises you could take with that amount of money. You could book the Walt Suite!

We got a frozen 20 lb turkey for free from the supermarket at turkey day. But we weren't home to cook it. So we're defrosting it in the fridge and cooking it for Christmas. I'm making stuffing and sweet potatoes with cranberry sauce. YUM! A turkey day dinner.....my favorite. I had lasagna and pizza on Long Island for turkey day. I missed having turkey. I'm glad it's time now for a turkey dinner. :goodvibes
