A bit freaked out today. Just found out that a bill is about to be passed in Michigan to reform workers' compensation laws, basically eliminating work comp litigation. The bill hwill be voted on in November, but bigwigs are 90% sure it will pass (something about it being pushed by republicans and our MI government is mostly republican, so it is believed it will pass). The word is that the new law would take effect December 1st and by this time next year work comp lawyers will no longer be in practice. This has been in the works for quite some time and has been kept secret to prevent panic and chaos.
So I need to update my resume and get it out there again.

I should wait to see how this all pans out, but if I wait, hundreds of others who work for work comp lawyers will all be looking for jobs at the same time.

Michigan has one of the highest unemployment rates, so I might be flipping burgers!
I was lucky enough to have a job unaffected by the economy, and then politicians had to start messing with the laws.

Good news: at least I have a few months instead of a couple weeks.
