 Donna!!

There are some of us die-hards still around so come back whenever you want to!

Glad the wedding went well.

How's Harry doing? How are YOU doing??

:hug:s!

A bit freaked out today. Just found out that a bill is about to be passed in Michigan to reform workers' compensation laws, basically eliminating work comp litigation. The bill hwill be voted on in November, but bigwigs are 90% sure it will pass (something about it being pushed by republicans and our MI government is mostly republican, so it is believed it will pass). The word is that the new law would take effect December 1st and by this time next year work comp lawyers will no longer be in practice. This has been in the works for quite some time and has been kept secret to prevent panic and chaos.

So I need to update my resume and get it out there again. :( I should wait to see how this all pans out, but if I wait, hundreds of others who work for work comp lawyers will all be looking for jobs at the same time. Michigan has one of the highest unemployment rates, so I might be flipping burgers!

I was lucky enough to have a job unaffected by the economy, and then politicians had to start messing with the laws. :headache: Good news: at least I have a few months instead of a couple weeks.

Hello to all who are still here!:wave2: This thread seems to be dying a slow death.:sad2: Yes, I still refuse to Facebook.:upsidedow

We are back from our b2b Dream, DD's wedding cruise. This vacation was such a nice break from reality. It was really hard to come home this time and I am having a hard time adjusting to real life.

The wedding was absolutely wonderful! Definitely the best way to get married! The Dream was a gorgeous ship. So new and sparkling. Just loved her! Would be happy to answer any questions about our trip. Lot's of great memories for our family.:goodvibes

Sorry, I don't know how to post a link. If anyone wants to see pictures you can find them on the DIS in the Disney Wedding and Honeymoons forum. Go to the the thread, Disney Cruise Brides-Let's Chat about our Weddings/VR's. The thread should be near the top of the page. A link to pictures is on page 238, post 3563. Sorry, that is the best I can do.:rolleyes1

Hope everyone is doing well!

Donna

:cool1: HEY DONNA!! :yay:

good day for me today. My temp job which ends Dec 31st has been extended until Aug 31st. The duties will change a little, and my supervisor's boss becomes my boss, and I'll be located in a different spot, but the pay's the same and there's a good chance it will eventually lead to something permanent, but if not its good experience and the new boss has said she knows I need to get varied experience to get my accounting certification and she's going to try to give me things to get the experience I need. So I'm happy :goodvibes

Works been crazy busy over the last while but this week is calmer and then next week will go crazy again :goodvibes

Ditto!!!

(i like when she cheers like that!!!)

Hi All!!

Good time to update and put some feelers out... maybe it won't be as bad as it seems... have you talked to the big wigs at work to see what they say?

Thanks for the link Jan!!! :thumbsup2

Monica, we are doing OK. It was great to get away and relax and enjoy life for ten whole days. We spent three days prior to our b2b at POFQ. Didn't do the parks. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub and DTD. I sure could use that hot tub now. It felt so good on my old muscles and bones.:goodvibes

Holly, that news must have been a shock. Hope all turns out well for you.

Jan, thanks for posting the link. How is Tom? Say "hi" to him for Harry and me.

Hi Michelle! How are Ian and Sukie doing? Harry just recently mentioned how much fun they were on our PC cruise.

Hello, to everyone else that I didn't mention.:wave2: I always worry about leaving someone out.:flower3:

I sent one of the pics from the wedding to Ian... they are doing well... they are now a CIVILIZED couple in IL... We always talk about you when we chat... Tell Harry that all is well on our side and we miss you!!!

Yes, we told him what we heard and asked him what's going on. He was at a government meeting about this late yesterday. He basically just said that changes in laws have lots of effects, good for some people and not so good for others and that we'll just have to see how it pans out.

Donna, nice to see you on here! Glad the wedding went well! :)

Happy Anniversary Deb & John!!!

Thanks Mon. We will be toasting with bubbly tonight from the Dream maiden voyage. This is a special celebration to pop it for....especially since we were apart for our 20th and didn't get to celebrate together. That makes this year even more special.

Holly, I'm so sorry to hear the news of the new law going into effect in Michigan and how it's going to affect you directly. I know you love that job and it allows you the flexibility that you need to work with Tyler and his schedule. I hope that you find another job quickly, for more money and one that will continue to allow you the flexibility. Good Luck!

Hi Jan, Hi Shannon, Hi Donna.....nice wedding with beautiful pictures. If I had to do it over again, I would do it the way your daughter did. An onboard the ship wedding is ideal.

Deb and Michelle....have you seen this thread about DISers meeting up to greet the Fantasy?

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2808994

.

Finally Friday! Another hetic week at work and a few hours overtime logged (cruise $$!!). Looking forward to a long sit-down at the computer this weekend instead of snatching a few miinutes here and there.

Plan to do some online shopping so I have enough time to return/replace what doesn't fit before my cruise. (which reminds me....I still have some shoes to return to Zapos...better get that done this weekend also!)

Off to facebook for a few moments before hitting the shower. HUGS FOR EVERYONE!!
