A bit freaked out today. Just found out that a bill is about to be passed in Michigan to reform workers' compensation laws, basically eliminating work comp litigation. The bill hwill be voted on in November, but bigwigs are 90% sure it will pass (something about it being pushed by republicans and our MI government is mostly republican, so it is believed it will pass). The word is that the new law would take effect December 1st and by this time next year work comp lawyers will no longer be in practice. This has been in the works for quite some time and has been kept secret to prevent panic and chaos.

So I need to update my resume and get it out there again. I should wait to see how this all pans out, but if I wait, hundreds of others who work for work comp lawyers will all be looking for jobs at the same time. Michigan has one of the highest unemployment rates, so I might be flipping burgers!

I was lucky enough to have a job unaffected by the economy, and then politicians had to start messing with the laws. Good news: at least I have a few months instead of a couple weeks.

Finally Friday! Another hetic week at work and a few hours overtime logged (cruise $$!!). Looking forward to a long sit-down at the computer this weekend instead of snatching a few miinutes here and there.

Plan to do some online shopping so I have enough time to return/replace what doesn't fit before my cruise. (which reminds me....I still have some shoes to return to Zapos...better get that done this weekend also!)

Off to facebook for a few moments before hitting the shower. HUGS FOR EVERYONE!!

Thanks for the link Jackie.....as much as I would love to be with a group of DISers to watch her come into port......I could be standing in a warm apartment instead. So I think I'll pass on the group thing.

Our main concern is seeing her go under the Verazzano Bridge. From the location that the group picked, you won't see her under the bridge. I think I'll go to Staten Island to see her coming under the bridge and then go to Manhattan to my cousin's apartment. Michelle I'm sure I could bring you and mom with me, but I don't think my cousin would appreciate me bringing all the DISers....hahaha.

Thanks for the invite... but the bridge doesn't do as much for me as it does for you.... I'll wait until we know more to figure out what to do... I still think it won't come in during the daylight... but...

You could always skip the bridge and do the apartment. Think about it. I'm also hoping that my cousin is travelling. He's usually out of town more then in. If he's home, I won't go. He doesn't understand the Disney lure. If he's out of town, I'll be there!

I would think anytime from 4-6am....I'll be riding the ferry. I just hope we can judge a little more specifically when the time gets closer and everyone is tracking her by satellite. I probably need two hours to get to Staten Island from here. Or maybe I'll take a hotel room on the Island and just get up early. I don't want to miss it. I did it while onboard as the Wonder went under the Golden Gate. First I watched the royal wedding and after they took their vows, we went to the top deck with blankets and coffee before sunrise. I won't miss it.

She'll be in port for 4 days, so then I'll have to take more pictures from my cousin's apartment probably. I will then be concerned about when she leaves. I'm thinking the same time as sailaway, but I have no clue.
