pixiedust:Popping on to check in before heading off to bed.

I love the decorations, Deb!:thumbsup2

Michelle - I hope you feel better in the morning, and that you are sleeping now!:cloud9:

Nan - hopefully Paul finds something soon:goodvibes

Hi everyone else, I'm off to dreamland :cloud9:

Don't worry Marilyn... The QM has the house stocked with all kinds of chicken soup and good things...

It's just a nuisance now... I hope it's one of those 24 hour things...

How's England? They didn't change alot while you were gone were they??? Liz still queen?

Hope you wake up feeling better today Michelle.

England is ok. I have been called up for Jury Service at the end of November. It is stressing me out. I can't make a decision on what to have for tea, so what on earth am I going to be like in a court case? They shouldn't call up post menopausal women.:rotfl2: There has been plenty of other years to randomly pick out my name and just now it not the right time. I just want it to go away, the plumber to go, the house be finished and clean, everything unpacked and put away, Christmas organised and all the other problems to go.

Ok, my rant for this day. Off to my corner.

It is a miracle to get selected for a jury. Most people on jury duty don't get called. I'm the exception, I've been called twice and served twice, but both times as an alternate, so I never went to deliberation. Once for a double murder trial in NY, and once for a drug ring here in Chicago.

I was picked for jury duty once. Almost 4 weeks of driving downtown Atlanta everyday. It was some of the employees of Northwest vs Northwest airlines. It was loooong and boring! The only thing that I got out of it was to never fly NW.
I'm off to New Orleans in a few minutes to have a fun weekend(since we will not win the game). Have a great rest of the week everyone!!!

I've been called 5 times (once was federal) in just the last 4 years! Luckily beyond the one day I've only picked one and served for 8 days.

They told us this year the average person only gets called 3 times in their lifetime - I'm way ahead of the curve on this one.

And in Florida being 72 or older automatically gets you out of jury duty if you want. It seems to be the only way to get out of at least the one day - financial hardships, childcare, etc have to be presented to the judge in person so you have to go at least the first day.

Have a great weekend!! We're rooting for ya!!!

Deb... are we not sleeping again??? ;)

Good Morning Michelle, how are you feeling today?

I stayed up late, but I went to sleep right after I wrote that so I just missed you. Sorry.

I have the boot lady representative coming at noon today to readjust the thing.

Gotta get some coffee.

Does an alternative mean you waited to see if someone dropped out? I would be worried doing a drug ring trial!!:scared1::scared1:

I won't ask about the things that stopped you flying NW, but I will take your word for it and n ot fly them either.:lmao:

Have a good weekend.

I don't think 3 times in a lifetime is average here. I only know of a couple of folk who have served. We have to be between 18 and 70, and the only things to get you out of it are being on bail or other criminal things, and mental problems.

I'm feeling a bit better about it now. I probably will be gutted if I am not picked.:rotfl2:

Oh Marilyn, that's so much to deal with all at once...especially when your house is in disarray from all the construction. Hopefully they will be finished very soon and you can put everything back in order again. Just take one day at a time for now, that's the best that you can do. Lots of hugs.:hug::hug::hug::hug::hug::hug:

I've done it twice too, but I never got picked. I wanted to...it just didn't happen. John has never gotten called.

Have a great time in New Orleans Gydell. I hope your team surprises you and does win, either way have fun!

I started on my exercise bike last night. I got up to 5 minutes and thought I was going to die. I'll try to do 10 minutes today. I have to take it slow because I don't know how it's going to make the muscles feel. I have pain already before starting so I have to gently push forward. If I can only do 5-10 minutes at a time, I'll try to do it 2-3 times today. I'm excited about being able to do it. I just wish I could lower the seat some more. It adjusts but it doesn't go as low as I would like. I think the more I do it the better it will get.

My John always wanted so much to be called when he was teaching. Now he doesn't!!!!!:lmao:

Well done. Just take it easy for now.

Deb - How exciting! I am thrilled that you will be able to start incorporating more activity. It must be exciting to be rediscovering your body. John could help motivate you by giving you a diamond for every 100 miles. I know he'd appreciate the suggestion, so you can tell him that there's no need to thank me for the idea.

Hearing stories like yours is the reason I do my part time WW job. That and the discovery that I get a bit of "pin money" for cruise and stuff. Though primarily to help people like you.

you do realize that this girl needs no encouragement when it comes to those kinds of "carrots" right :confused3 :confused3 anyway she will always get what ever she wants if I can help it

ha ha, drug ring sound likes you'd be good at that :thumbsup2

I've never had to report, but I was on call for jury duty a few months back. Glad not to be called. For me it's a pain in the rear, having to find someone to get the kids from school and all.

Marilyn, hope you win (or lose) whatever way you are falling at the moment on being picked or not

Deb, good work :thumbsup2

Gydell, have a fun game, & never say never sometimes upsets are the best

Hi Shannon, Holly, Michelle...and lurkers:flower3:
