And I feel like I missed a bit of crossing day. Up so early, then the delay with the sub. After we entered the second lock I went to eat breakfast at Luminere's and eperienced the last lock at the window by my table. Shortly after that I slept for most of the day! :scared1: Did wake up in time to see the Bridge of The America's, but I would have loved to go to some of the 'talks' about the canal that I missed also. Plus there are three new ports for me (since I was sick one day and Cost Rica and Manzanillo are new). Can you tell I might be applying a bit of pressure to SIL to choose PC over TA?

.

I got lucky with the timing on PC day. I never would have been able to get Tyler up early, so I was just resigned to missing the approach and we woke up when we felt like it and got lucky! Kelly was nice enough to squeeze us in next to her family and Tyler liked sitting next to Zoe. :goodvibes

I VOTE YOU SHOULD DO THE PC TOO!!!! I'm looking forward to Costa Rica....that was another deciding factor for me....it's somewhere I've wanted to see. :thumbsup2

Call me crazy but....my DH is just as crazy as I am....we sooooo want to be patinum by the time we sail the B2B repo Alaska in 2011 that we booked a 4 night on 1-10-10 for John's birthday. While onboard we'll book a 3 night for our April 29th first date anniversary. We already have a western that we're doing on 10-30-10 with Monica for her birthday. That will get us to platinum when we sail in 2011. We want to do the B2B with the perks of the platinum level as well as the inaugurial Alaska cruise. We should get a bunch of special goodies onboard.

We decided that we won't even get off the boat on the short ones. It'll be just like 3 and 4 days at sea. We booked a cat 7 for January and will do the same for the April cruise....just wanted to keep the costs down. We transferred the PC cruise ressie from onboard so we got the 10% off too. John said we'll fly RT for both short cruises. In and out the day of with car service to the port and back....no car rentals. We'll just pack a weekender and won't have any check in bags. We just won't dress for formal, etc....we'll keep it simple and light.

The really good part is that I won't have to wait a year to sail again.:cutie:

Not crazy at all - we're thinking the same thing!!! We'll be gold in after our cruise next week and we have the Baltic next so we too are looking to take a4 3-4 day cruises before Alaska as well

Hi all. Back on dry land now and settling into BCV!! Haven't time to read back posts, so if there is anything should know please speak now!!

We had 2 absolutely fantastic weeks on the Magic and booked 2 dummy ressies. Hopefully one will be changed to the PC on Monday, but of course we might not get on. We are not as worried this time with having done it but it would be very nice to get on again!

I'm sure you have heard news of both cruises, and seen some great chocolate covered strawberry photos from Cheri!! I miss those strawberries.:love: How lovely it was to meet up with so may again, and spend time with the select special people who stayed on for the second week!!!:rolleyes1

Holly!!!!!! Just eaten those gorgeous chocolate covered cherries you so kindly sent with Jan!! On my, they were yummy. Thanks so much. Going to try the tea tomorrow, though I know I will like that too as I love fruit teas. Coffee is packed for home. Someone at the Jan's departure airport has enjoyed the maple syrup though!!! Thanks for thinking about us. We had a lovely chat with Jan and Dave, but we never saw them again!!:confused3

I agree that bites! Lisa W emailed DCL about some of the recent changes and their "stock" response was that they listened to guest concerns and made changes based on that. Can't really see repeat cruisers asking for ones that have cruised less than 5 to not go to the party, but oh well! Guess I can't eat rice krispy treats anymore so I shouldn't be upset.

I'm sure the repeats didn't ask for us not to be invited, but I'm sure they asked to get more benefits for more cruises, and the easiest was for disney to take something away from us lowly silvers. It wouldn't be so annoying if we had never had it, it just sucks when they take stuff away. :(

You are crazy, but in a good way! :rotfl: and I'm jealous you can just go on cruises so easily!

welcome back!

How did you pull that one off???????????????????:confused3:confused3:confused3

that's what I was wondering?:confused3

Hi everybody!

Kaleigh gave me a bit of excitement today. At the pool today at the end of swim time, she was playing with her friend, and got head-butted in the nose by her friend (accidentally). I didn't actually see it, just saw Kaleigh turn around and blood coming out her nose and all down her swimshirt. :scared1: We were in the shallow pool, so I just grabbed her and headed to the first aid room. She didn't start crying until we got to first aid. Poor Shaelyn was a little scared and she followed us to first aid. I told her she could go back and play in the pool, but she wasn't leaving her sister. :cutie: Kaleigh's fine once the bleeding stopped, and once she calmed down, she asked for Subway for lunch. They said she could go back in the pool, so we went back in for a few minutes before heading out to lunch.:goodvibes

This is a busy & wet weekend for Shaelyn as she had swimming lesson this morning, went to pottery this afternoon, and then from pottery she went back into the pool for her friend's birthday party, and tomorrow she has another party to go to at the pool. Good thing she loves the water!

Glad you liked the goodies! Jan emailed me about the syrup. Oh well......no big deal. That's strange that you never saw Jan & Dave again! :confused3 Oh well.....too many people onboard. ;)

Poor Kaleigh! I'm glad she's OK though. How sweet of Shaelyn, not wanting to leave Kaleigh. :goodvibes

Reporting in that Cheri landed safely in the Valley of the Sun and is on her way up north to sleep in her own bed!

I'm off to pick up pizza and head over to Peg's to hear all their travel stories.

Holly... did you sign Tyler up for the Marines or something? :scared1:

Holly... did you sign Tyler up for the Marines or something? :scared1:

:rotfl: He'd love it if I did! His current obsession is that he wants to join the Marines when he's old enough, so he's been begging me for a Marine haircut for a while. I did that Monday night and he just loves it like crazy! BUT......it's gone now. Apparently his dad was not happy , so he took him to a hair place and she cut the rest super short to even it out, so it just looks like a buzz all over. He's bummed out, bigtime. So I assured him we'll do it again soon.

Sorry Holly. I don't get it. I thought it looked great for a little boy. I never did that, but if he liked it, it was a nice respectable haircut. Heck I think my grandfather still cuts his hair like that. I don't understand why his dad would go and get it cut differently.

I stole a line from my father and what he used to say about haircuts.

"The difference between a good haircut and a bad haircut is just a couple of weeks".

I think it's a power thing with him. He and Tyler get the exact same haircut at the exact same time, every 6 weeks. That's fine with me, as long as Tyler liked it, but he was ready to try something different, but his dad wouldn't let him. I'm going to keep doing it for Tyler though, because after all, it's his hair.

And I like the couple of weeks line from your dad. :)

I don't like that kind of haircut either, and my hands were shaking when I did it because it just killed me, but it's how he wanted his hair, he's old enough to pick his hairstyle, geez! :sad2:
