Call me crazy but....my DH is just as crazy as I am....we sooooo want to be patinum by the time we sail the B2B repo Alaska in 2011 that we booked a 4 night on 1-10-10 for John's birthday. While onboard we'll book a 3 night for our April 29th first date anniversary. We already have a western that we're doing on 10-30-10 with Monica for her birthday. That will get us to platinum when we sail in 2011. We want to do the B2B with the perks of the platinum level as well as the inaugurial Alaska cruise. We should get a bunch of special goodies onboard.

We decided that we won't even get off the boat on the short ones. It'll be just like 3 and 4 days at sea. We booked a cat 7 for January and will do the same for the April cruise....just wanted to keep the costs down. We transferred the PC cruise ressie from onboard so we got the 10% off too. John said we'll fly RT for both short cruises. In and out the day of with car service to the port and back....no car rentals. We'll just pack a weekender and won't have any check in bags. We just won't dress for formal, etc....we'll keep it simple and light.

The really good part is that I won't have to wait a year to sail again.:cutie:

Deb, only 3 pounds gained in 3 weeks is awesome! You said you didn't track, but perhaps you were subconsciously still doing the right things. Great job! :goodvibes

Lazy day today, but have some running around to do. Laundry, pharmacy, groceries, then get Tyler. :thumbsup2 I'm thinking we might make cookies. It's been a while and that's a good rainy day thing to do . :goodvibes

Holly, I'm so glad you got it and you're booked and ready to plan the next PC crossing. Sorry that I had to cancel doing this one...there was just too many cruises and too little time...and money.

You'll keep us posted and let us know how it's going. We'll want a detailed report with lots of pictures!;)

If this were facebook I'd call you my favorite name for people I'm jealous of!

I just sat down and did my paperwork and have some hefty hospital charges to still pay off. So there will definately be no traveling before the WBTA/WBPC decision is made. It's funny, I'm thinking of the PC as 'expensive', when in fact it breaks down to the same per person/per week cost of my 2006 (!) 7 day double dip in a verandah stateroom. It's just in comparison to the very economical TA that it looks 'bad'.

I understand, Deb. I'd like to do Alaska sometime, but want more than just 7 days, and I know I loved the PC, so I know we're doing something we already love. That one day, the day of the crossing, is what made the decision for me. It was just so amazing to see, I stood outside all day, going from one side of the ship to another, from one deck to another, watching all day. Fortunately, that was the longest amount of time Tyler managed to stay in the kids' club.

And I feel like I missed a bit of crossing day. Up so early, then the delay with the sub. After we entered the second lock I went to eat breakfast at Luminere's and eperienced the last lock at the window by my table. Shortly after that I slept for most of the day! :scared1: Did wake up in time to see the Bridge of The America's, but I would have loved to go to some of the 'talks' about the canal that I missed also. Plus there are three new ports for me (since I was sick one day and Cost Rica and Manzanillo are new). Can you tell I might be applying a bit of pressure to SIL to choose PC over TA?

.

Well, I'm curious to find out how Tyler's dad reacted to Tyler's butcher job (hair)! :rotfl2:

But isn't the airfare involved with the TA much higher than if you did the PC?
