Reporting in that Cheri landed safely in the Valley of the Sun and is on her way up north to sleep in her own bed!

I'm off to pick up pizza and head over to Peg's to hear all their travel stories.

.

have fun, come back and share the stories :)

For Shannon because she didn't catch these on FB:

I think the hair cut looked cute on him, especially since he loves his camo! in a couple weeks, he can do it again.

I'm sure the repeats didn't ask for us not to be invited, but I'm sure they asked to get more benefits for more cruises, and the easiest was for disney to take something away from us lowly silvers. It wouldn't be so annoying if we had never had it, it just sucks when they take stuff away. :(

that's what I was wondering?:confused3

Yup, that was my thought too....it would be one thing if we never had it but for people who have cruised up to 4 times, they have gone to them and now won't be able to! Not the typical disney customer care. I agree repeaters asked for more benefits and that makes sense.....

Holly must have a "sugar gold" to book for her ;) I had a ressie too for the PC, but decided against it due to the deposit cost....my TA had an emergency come up so she didn't get the quote to me until Thursday. The room cost was pretty much the same as in 08, just a more money now than I had.

Just got back from Wicked tonight.....what an amazing show! Jaide loved it, Taylor was a bit bored, but she doesn't seem to like musicals...oh well.

Welcome back to land Marilyn! Loved seeing the pics of you and John...looks like you had fun.

Off to sleep before so I can get up early for the hawks game tomorrow! woohoo:dance3::yay:

Yup, I was thinking I'll do it in 2 weeks. That way, I know his dad wouldn't want to pay for a haircut so soon already, so he'll just have to deal with it! LOL!

Something like that Kaylee. ;)

But getting the 1/2 price deposit was the big factor that made us able to go. The deposit amount is just ridiculous! I know, we have to pay it all at some point, but that much up front just is too much. :sad2:

I was linked with my sugar gold pal Cheri and got my ressies, the same trip as hers of course, LA-Van Repo and Alaska B2B as we call it :thumbsup2

why so secret Holly? :confused3

Hey, V & Bubba, I'm thinking about moving my Alaska to 8/23! Some friends will be in the Walt Suite on that cruise and have offered to link my reservation with theirs! :woohoo:I'll call my TA today to check it out.

Also, their TA said FL schools go back that week, so there should be a lower child to adult ratio (one of the reasons I was looking at 8/30 instead, besides one less vacation day because of Labor Day and I thought it would be cheaper). She said 8/23 was the same price as 8/30...at least for the Walt! :lmao:

:woohoo:::yes:: do switch. We have been hoping someone would also choose the 23rd. Let me know what your TA has to say. I also think schools here in CA also go back about this time. Which may be why not many are choosing this date. I plan to be up early tomorrow, on the phone to transfer our OBB from our PC. I know some are upset about the deposit amount, as was I, but then realized DCL already has a full deposit from our dummy booking, so we have to only come up with the difference.

Aren't you a little miss I know people in high places.

You'll go to any lengths to avoid us, won't you?

Now you know that's not true!

My friend Dee (whom I've cruised with twice before) is taking three generations of family (16 people in four cabins). I know about half of them.

Deb, I don't think you are Crazy :rolleyes1 but IF I live nearby with disney cruise I might do that just like you but I live in Scotland - far far away :sad1:

I am dreaming one day Disney cruise will be sailing in Scotland, my husband was laughing at me :laughing: If disney cruise do that I WILL BE ON THAT SHIP to sailing my bonnie Scotland - WATCH THAT SPACE :laughing::laughing:

I am very tempt to book 3 or 4 nights at dream new ship before RCCI???:idea:

Scottishwee35

Thanks Deborah, now I feel better knowing that you would do the same thing if you were in my place.

How proud you'll be taking the ship into Scotland. One day it will happen and I'd love to be standing right next to you onboard when it does. WOOHOO we will be celebrating!!!

Shannon, Ken and Kathe will be onboard with us when taking the Wonder into Canada for the very first time! We'll all be proud to share it with them.

The Dream is supposed to be sailing it's inaugurial run January 2011...according to a diser friend on our Tortola cruise who asked Captain Tom.

OK, so how many of us want to be onboard that one?

If this were facebook I'd call you my favorite name for people I'm jealous of!

I just sat down and did my paperwork and have some hefty hospital charges to still pay off. So there will definately be no traveling before the WBTA/WBPC decision is made. It's funny, I'm thinking of the PC as 'expensive', when in fact it breaks down to the same per person/per week cost of my 2006 (!) 7 day double dip in a verandah stateroom. It's just in comparison to the very economical TA that it looks 'bad'.

....sorrwee....haha.

The WBPC 2010 is $2k more than the WBPC 2008. I compared using the same category for each. John really wanted to do that cruise because it falls on his 60th birthday. BUT we both wanted to sail with our friends even more so we're going to Alaska instead!

I'm wondering if they will sail (with guests!) from NY to FL. Wouldn't that be grand? An eastern seaboard cruise with a stop at Castaway Cay for that all important 'foreign' port. Of couse, this would be January, so I don't know about the weather! :lmao:

I understand, Deb. I'd like to do Alaska sometime, but want more than just 7 days, and I know I loved the PC, so I know we're doing something we already love. That one day, the day of the crossing, is what made the decision for me. It was just so amazing to see, I stood outside all day, going from one side of the ship to another, from one deck to another, watching all day. Fortunately, that was the longest amount of time Tyler managed to stay in the kids' club.

:hug::hug: It sounds devine Holly. Keep us informed so we can live vivaciously through you....as Karen would say.

I'M THERE! Moved my reservation, same cabin, same rate! :thumbsup2

V, I'm in a 7a (7620 partial obstruction verandah). Try and ask for 7120, 6134 or 6634 as those only have the partial obstruction and the plexiglass bottom. I think it's the same for 5132 and 5632 also, but you might want to double check that.

I transfered an on board booking, so I have the 10% discount, no transfers, no insureance, two adults $3479.26.

Love the price. I have my list of cabin I'm trying to get.

I just sent you a PM, but now looking back over your previous post, I see that you need to disregard it.

I might even try prices for a 6a. Humm such decisions, oh what to do.

Not crazy at all - we're thinking the same thing!!! We'll be gold in after our cruise next week and we have the Baltic next so we too are looking to take a4 3-4 day cruises before Alaska as well

OK, if you guys are thinking the same thing....then I feel better and I'm not so crazy. YEAH!!! I say go for Platinum!!! It'll be awesome to travel Platinum for the first time on the first Alaska. Are you and Darrell doing the B2B also?

I think we'll be taking over the dining room!:rolleyes1

I agree Shannon, they could have done it a different way without taking anything away from "silvers".....:headache:

You are crazy, but in a good way! :rotfl: and I'm jealous you can just go on cruises so easily!

No school aged kids....and finally got Ray's VA money to pay for him so I can keep mine again....just means more cruises.

The time will fly by and you'll get there only too soon. Don't rush it. Enjoy time with the girls now while they're young and growing. There's plenty of time for cruising when they're off to college and have their own lives.
