Well my kids do talk about it but they didn't ask for less Ethan did say at Christmas that he may not get a Nintendo DS because they were $1000.00 Then we got a Wii and DS He probably thinks we are rich. We told him he would get a new game when he passes all of his multiplication but he still has 8, 9 and 12 to go. They also get a little something when they get an award. Brooke is going to get her math award soon so she will get something. I believe in rewards because you usually get rewards if you're a hard worker at your job.

I've never had a job that gives rewards, that would be cool!

I don't either - but I do watch he commercials and half time show.

I don't remember if I posted but we have friends going to the game this year. They won the Visa NFL sweepstakes - they are going to the Superbowl and the pro bowl. They get a 2-night 3 day trip to Tampa and then 4 nights 5 days to Hawaii all expenses paid plus a trip to a play-off game next year.

We get a raise every year, but it's not based on performance, only for being there another year. It's not based on working hard either because everybody gets the same amount.

You have to assess whether or not the DDE card will be worth it.

I'm not even sure what it costs now ($50?). So, the key is whether you will save more than you spend on the card.

We're AP holders as well, and once upon a time, before DVC members could get the dining plan we had the card. Since then, I think the dining plan, for us anyways, made for a better option.

The card is $60.00 now, I just renewed in Oct and it was still called DDE, but I know it has changed names recently. For one week, 3 adults, we definately saved way over the $60.00 so for us it was a good value. If I use it for a couple of meals or more importantly a few cocktails in May it is a bonus! I will be able to use it the day before our cruise too Since we all have different plans on where we want to dine and whether we normally eat desserts or even two large meals a day, it is best to work out the math before deciding which is the better value.I don't for instance, think that a place like Jiko is worth 2 dining credits, but I love being able to save 20% off of the food and wine there

Hi All, I didn't realize how far behind I had gotten until I realized you were 100 pages into another thread I'm sure I've missed a ton of good stuff going on over here. Been extremely busy with work (mostly doing this ) and busy with Zoe's and my school. Otherwise all is well here at our house. I think V sent her germs through cyber space. I've felt it coming on for a couple of days and last night it hit. Stayed home from work today. I have two days to get better or Gaylean is gonna kill me! We are supposed to go to her sisters house this Sun. to watch the Super Bowl. I think she just needs Venetia there to keep her from getting bored! She already told me..." Don't you EVEN think about cancelling!"

I can't wait until Saturday...we are going to the Kinsman Kart Club dinner and Willie will get his 2nd place trophy, it will be taller than he is most likely.

Paul also told me that he is taking Willie to the IKF dinner at the end of Feb where is will get his 2nd place IKF award.

Uggg, I am so upset. So I planned to go tubing on the 7th. There are a bunch of people but I wanted to drive up seperatly and stay for longer. I was off and Matt was not on call. Until today, one of the other guys also had plans and switched their on call weeks. He has been sick so missed his week and has plans the same weekend we have plans. So now Matt is off this weekend and I have to work and when I am off and we have plans he is on call. We are still going as I will not cancel on the others but now it will just be more complicated. I know it will be ok but I needed to vent.

I am actually afraid to weigh in tomorrow!

It has been such a STRESSFUL week!! I am so mad at myself!!!

It's been so UP and DOWN with my mom! First I think everything is AOK, then the bottom falls out and she's crying and upset over something I did or DIDN"T do, or something I "took over" for,or spoke instead of her, or took over the converstation.....

Then I find out she didn't do ANY arrangements for elec., phone, newspaper, etc ahead of time (like 2 weeks ago) so I have to handle it today.

Then, she can't go out or do anything until 11am, then she needs to come home for lunch and a glass of wine, then off to try to do something else, but by 4 she's too tired to do anything anymore, so home again for afternoon cocktails....then the whole evening is shot.

Oh, thanks for letting me VENT (AGAIN) I have said "sorry" to her so many times this week!

I think she and I need to go to family therapy as soon as we can find a therapist! What a great time I chose to go off of my anti-depressives.......

I am so impressed by your weekly menu......nowadays we all just eat whatever, whenever, wherever we want! Patrick eats when he wants to, Chuck eats late lunch,hardly any supper. I try to follow a low carb, high veggie diet......now that mom is here, I try to make something for her, but half the time she doesn't want to eat......

I remember....oh, here it comes......the olden days when my kids were small and I planned out a whole week of meals ahead of time and we all ate at the table together........oh, how things have changed in our old age!!!!

You aren't the only one who think we are wimps! Did you see the leader of the free world... and our new neighbor .... weighed in on our school situation. I had to laugh at what the Associate Head of School at Sidwell Friends (where his daughters go) said about all Obama's comments

Washingtonians have bickered for decades over whether the region is too quick to close its schools for snow and ice. Now they're arguing over whether one of their newest neighbors, who happens to be president, was right to take sides in the perennial debate.

Either way, President Obama was off to a quick start in fulfilling his promise to embrace Washington's ways. It's a winter pastime for residents to second-guess officials who close schools at the first whiff of winter weather, and the president dived right in.

Some people said the president should be making nice with his new town. One reader wrote on washingtonpost.com: "If Obama wants to run the schools, he should resign and run for the School Board."

At Sidwell Friends, Associate Head of School Ellis Turner replied to the president's challenge in an e-mail to The Washington Post. "No question, the president is right," Turner wrote. "The next time it snows, we would like to invite him to help us make the decision. His involvement will make it much easier to explain to our students why they won't be able to spend the day sleeping and sledding."
