So what are all of your 4th of July plans (I mean our US friends. I know Canada Day is coming up, well for you UK people, I suppose you're going to think twice before you increase the tax on tea).

Seriously, what plans are afoot?

We are doing nothing. I think we're going to see Wall*E on Friday night and on Saturday we're going to the zoo.

It's also time for me to put gas in Mrs. Fezziwig. She only has 1 gallon left. The last time I put gas in her was around May 5th.

No real 4th of July plans though, no cookouts or picnics planned. I'm just looking forward to a nice, relaxing long weekend.

We are going to a swim party and watching fireworks.

We call that "shark teeth" and the kids think their cool!

Well call it what you want, it is gross to me! Ethan did think it was cool but it made one of his teeth farther back into his mouth. The dentist said he'll have to kick it out eventually but it has already fixed itself a little. I hope it fixes on it's own.

Happy Canada Day!

or in this neck of the woods:

Happy Dominion Day!
(This is what it used to be known as and because we live near a heritage site, they still call it Dominion Day).

So go ahead and end all your sentences with "eh" in honour of this great day.

And make sure you raise a stubby or drink a 2-4 to toast my home and native land, the true north strong and free!

Ok Now I got that out of my system...

Thnx for everyone's best wishes today. We are going to head down to the park today and have some various ethnic foods and watch some dancing and singing, have a piece of birthday cake, wave the flag a bit and then probably come back home and do some housework.

As for moving day ... That is a Quebec thing. In Quebec many home leases start on July 1 and last for exactly one year (they're french they are weird) so on July 1 many Quebecers (Quebecois) spend the day moving from one location to another.

Happy Canada Day!

Enjoying a lazy morning so far, sitting back watching the Celebration from Ottawa on TV.

Monica - Moving Day is just a Quebec thing. There used to be a law that leases ran one year ending on July 1st (so kids wouldn't have to move during school year). Its no longer a law, just a strong tradition.

No special for 4th July for UK but I am off working on Friday:cool1: :cool1:

I am going out with friends for meals and drink.

UK Petrol is very expensive nowaday. Now I am walking to work, only up the road take me about 20 mins walking. (Need exercise;) )

I'm jealous because you are always having meals and drinks with friends.

It is good that you can walk to work. Jon works 30 miles away. I'm happy that I don't have to drive the kids to school right now. It saves the gas for the fun stuff.

Thanks Ken! One of the things I love best about our group is learning about different cultures and traditions and holidays, etc. SO COOL! :goodvibes

P.S..........I LOVE BOB & DOUG McKENZIE! :rotfl2:

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Kind of the same thing here...just relaxing and probably seeing Wall-E also.

Are you going to MY ZOO? I lived near Lincoln Park Zoo when I was at 196something N. Lincoln. Hung out there a lot and visited Mike the polar bear often. OR, are you going to the big zoo in Brookfield?

Thinking about that general neighborhood made me remember two of my favorite places, MelMarkons (they had really good fried chicken) and The WiseFools Pub. ahhhhhhh......flashbacks........

Time to hit the shower.....catch ya at lunch break....unless someone decides to take me out for lunch. :lmao:

.

We are going to be heading out to Brookfield Zoo. We are going to make a day of it.

On the 4th we will be at the pool. Cook out that evening and then watch fireworks. Our house is on a high hill or a low mountain so we can see about a dozen different firework displays at the same time from our deck. They're not close like being at WDW but it's nice not to have to fight crowds.

That sounds beautiful. We watch them from my friends house because she is near a university but she doesn't live on a hill.

You people and Facebook! You've created a monster because I'm sure hooked now! What I like is the list they give of others I might know because there was a guy from high school on there. Nobody I'd probably talk to, but it was neat to see a current picture.

If this is an attempt to get me off my booty to get an account it is working :lmao:

Oooooh! I haven't been there since 1995 or 1996! Nice! My ex-husband (but he was just a boyfriend at that time) and I played hookie from work one day and headed there. :goodvibes

Nan.....Be sure to tell Wilson GREAT races and job well done. :yay: :yay: :yay: We will be looking for him in that #1 spot. :yay: :yay: :yay:

Doug

thanks Doug and Deborah...I'll tell him when he gets home later today. He had an over night sleep at his race track friend. The friend, Danny, turned 9 yesterday :goodvibes

Wilson's next race is 7/13, then again 7/28, so many races this summer

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: You can't see the king...he's the one off to the right, you can only see his nose and the blue bracelet. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

You know, later in the cruise, when I finally was able to call home, I asked my brother in law what he wanted as a present and he said "Something with a lizard on it!" I came this close to bringing him one of these! Edited to add: He got a DCL baseball cap.

..

funny I looked at the picture last night and thought, man I should have gotten one of them, but then I saw the price tag, nope I don't need a $14 lizzard collecting dust....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I'll look at the pics again for the one where the king is bowed down by the clan.
