OK this is going to be a multi-part posting:


Part 1

What in the world is the deal with Face Book? Yes, I have a Face Book account but I still do not understand the point of it. This is the first time in my life I have not really understood the point of some internet/web thingy.

I have young guys reporting to me and even they can't tell me the point. All they can say is it's a "way to have friends that you really don't want to talk to."

"Then how can they be friends?" I ask.


Part 2

It sounds like some of you have some really wonderful 4th of July plans. I wish ours weren't so boring and that Sukie was not working the night of the 3rd and 5th, but I suppose that's the way it goes.

Also, my biological calendar is off, because I feel like tomorrow is Thursday and not just Wednesday.

One nice thing about my company is that on the day before a long weekend they send everyone home early, so I should be able to leave work by about 2PM on Thursday.

Part 3

Our HR manager (who was on vacation all of last week) asked me today if congratulations were in order. She was referring to the wedding. I told her about the entire fiasco and said that it will just have to wait until September.

Sukie is getting rather antsy about the whole affair which quite frankly surprises me, as he's normally rather blasé about these things

I tried to set up the appointment today for the marriage license and civil ceremony, but the Orange County system is not accepting appointments for September.

So, all of you California residents out there, please get on the horn with Arnold and get this sorted out for me.

The reason I joined myspace was because I wanted to find people that I haven't spoken to in a long time. I quickly learned that it is a place to post pictures of your family and let everyone know how you are doing. I just joined facebook today so I'm not sure if it will be the same or not. I like it better than email myself because you can chat rather than wait a day or two to get a response. It is like the DIS boards for me. I got to display pictures of the cruise and it is easier than sending them to everyone individually. I don't accept people to be my friends unless I know them.

Thats the thing it wasn't bad. At the time I worked for Disney and I posted that I heard in the Halloween Parade they weren't using real dogs in the cruella part anymore and did anyone know anymore changes. I got told that you arn't supposed to say stuff like that on a public forum.

Strange. I've never been told not to do something and I've been a member for 10 years.

my take on facebook/my space.....

I first signed up looking for old friends from HS. I did this right around the time of my reunion last year (and none of my friends were there). Since then I use it to keep in touch with some friends...easier than email at times. And, I use it as a networking tool for my business. really, it is just a good time waster to keep in touch with people!

I have to catch up here and on Facebook, but wanted to drop a post in first. Prayers and good luck wishes needed please. I called and left an urgent message with the psychiatrist saying we can't wait until the end of July for our final 2 visits because of a horrifying incident at school today that Tyler caused (which I described to the Dr.). So, prayers please that the Dr. will understand the urgency and will create an appointment for him right away, before more kids get hurt. Thank you. I have no idea what to say to the other parent if/when they confront me.

For the 4th our church participates in the local parade an we walk in it. We are having a cookout at my moms and setting off illegal fireworks!

Which is why I'm SHOCKED that you would go with the church in the AM and set off illegal fireworks in the PM!!!

When is the parade where you get to drive the 1963 convertible? Are you making costumes?

Glad everyone is enjoying Deborah's pictures. I liked them and wanted you all to see them too. Have not read far enough to see if Deborah was OK that I did it--I hope she was.....

Cannot make the cool ties--the pattern did not get printed out. Maybe I will quit DISing and go look for it on this little screen

Neck Coolersneeded for 8 coolers:
1 1 yd 100% cotton fabric (at LEAST 42" wide)
prewash the fabric to remove any sizing
1 1/2 - 1 tsp polymer granules per cooler
(see resource at end)
1 sewing machine or serger
helpful:
1 rotary cutter and mat (makes for quick cutting) (I just folded the fabric until I got 8 of them - in half and then in half again until it had 8 counted... and then cut along the lines...)

instructions:
1. Cut or tear strips 41/2" wide by the
fabric width (selvedge to selvedge). I
usually use 45" wide fab, so I just cut
them the width of the fabric -- 45"
should be the max
NOTE: If your fabric is too wide (or not
wide enough), purchase 1 1/4 yards
and cut in the direction of the
selvedge (from top to bottom)
instead.
2. Fold in half, right sides together, on
the long edge
3. Sew/serge the long seam and turn.
Iron. As shown above, the seam has
been placed in the center back,
rather than at the edge. Now you
have a tube about 2" wide and 40 -
45" long
4. Mark the center of the long edge and
stitch across it.
5. Drop in a scant 1/8 tsp of crystals on
each side of the seam
NOTE: This pattern tested with Watersorb®
crystals. Make a test tie with the brand
you're using to be sure this isn't too
much/too little after it's soaked.
6. Mark 4 1/2" from the center seam
and seam again.
Now there are 2 pockets with crystals.
7. Drop in another scant 1/8 tsp of in
both sides and seam like before (41/2
inches from the first set of seams).
You should have a total of 4 pockets.
NOTE: Some people make 2 pockets that
are 9"/10" each, and some make just
one 18" pocket. For longer pockets,
adjust the quantity of granules
accordingly.
8. Serge ends (or fold in raw edges and
sew across) to finish. Diagonal ends,
as in the photo, look nice.

sew, do not just serge to finish ends.

HAPPY CANADA DAY!

Hi all. I've had a busy day. Had to take my son to the airport this morning...can't believe 2 weeks went by so quick...reminded me of how fast our 15 day cruising adventure went Then I finished moving my granddaughter and her Mom in to my house. Busy trying to make room for everyone, emptying out drawers, closets, etc, good thing it's garbage day tomorrow. Why do we keep some of the things we keep, just in case we may use them someday Anyone else have that problem? I hate to part with things! We had a nice BBQ and I am babysitting now Serenity just fell asleep in my arms so I have put her down for the night. Her mom has gone to watch one of the fireworks shows tonight. It is just dusk now, and I am hearing numerous fireworks going off.

You take a deep breath, consult with the Dr. and with the school... do what's best for you and Tyler and if you do encounter the other parent, aplogize and explain that it's something that is being taken care of.

You will do fine. & Tyler is getting the help he needs. Maybe the Dr. can help in other ways also.
