Dramatic start I know...but it caught your attention didn't it? ;)

I'll be traveling to The World in June and I know that my #1 priority is going to be staying hydrated. In the cooler weather I carry a back pack that has a netted side pocket to hold my water, but in the hotter months I don't want to be that encumbered. I have previously used Disney's bottle holder; ( cord around neck with a loop that holds a bottle at the other end) but the weight of a full bottle hurt my neck and shoulders.

So my friends....any other suggestions for carrying around the bottle of liquid gold? I have toyed with carrying nothing and just stopping for cups of iced water but I think that I wouldn't do this enough and I'd end up parched and shriveled inside- exactly what I want to avoid .

Ideas????

I think I'm confused by your question. You don't want to carry the water around or stop for water????

We carry water bottles into the park. DH puts some inside the pouches on his backpack and we carry items like this

However, that would be just as heavy as the other product you described. There is really no other way to make a water bottle lighter. Unless you want to fork up $3.50 in the park.

Thanks...I mean to say, my bag is too small to carry the water in it and I don't like the strappy holders because the weight hurts my neck (and/or shoulder). I've seen clips that people have used to attach the bottles to their bags but I don't know what they're called. I've also seen people with their bottles hanging from a belt of some sort....

I'm just looking for the different ways people carry water around. I saw these and while they look interesting....they also look silly.

Those are kinda cute! But they would drive me NUTS at WDW ;) Disney sells the clips that you can clip a water bottle to your belt (the CMs wear them) or to your bag. The holder I use criss crosses you like a purse so it doesn't get heavy. You might want to just try something with a longer strap.

you could use a runner's hydration system -- you know those backpacks with a "water bladder" (yep, that's what they call it) and built in straw.....

I purchased from the Running Room a fanny pack type belt with a mesh holder for a water bottle. It's only used for a water bottle. I used it for my Brita Water bottle - never had to pay for water again - cause Disney water tastes bad to me

We used these last year when we went in May/June and they were such a blessing! They are pretty flat, hang high on your back (so you don't feel weighted down). I wore my sling bag over it. If you fill it up with ice first and then water - you have ice cold water for 4-5 hours. It's great!

AHHHHHHHHHHH............to be back in the days of babies and strollers!! I can remember being able to pack diaper bags, cooler bags, etc....and attach and hang them on our strollers as we embarked upon the Disney day. I only had to carry maybe was a small purse or clutch to carry money, id, etc. I was able to pack almost everything I needed/wanted for the day in that stroller.
Well....now that my youngest is almost 12, we no longer have those luxuries. The last 3-4 years we have gone without the rolling trailer. I have had to come up with ingenious solutions to our carrying woes.
To start, each one of my children has a "small" or junior size backpack. The ones we have had the last two years have a netting on the side to carry one water bottle. And the pack itself is big enough to carry snacks and such for the day. I purchased a cooler backpack a couple of years ago, and it also has the side netting for the water bottle. And there is enough room inside for our sandwiches for the day.
I have tried to not have anything to carry for the day with the exception of my bag with camera, phone, id's, and money, but I am always drawn back to wanting to have something to carry my "stuff" in. As well as we are always so budget conscious that we just can't see spending money on every meal everyday, so we always pack a lunch and snacks.
We bought the water bottle clips some time ago, and the kids seem to like them, but they do become bothersome at times swinging around and hitting your legs, but the kids never did seem to mind it much.
Have the kids carry small backpacks, and they can carry your water for you, ha ha, just a suggestion.
Good Luck.

I have aquired (I don't remember when) a version of the bottle clips for your belt. Mine really only works if you have belt straps (so keep that in mind). I was considering the camelbaks, but I'm still slightly hesitant. Also, having a large person in my travel group, I don't know if it would fit him. What I mainly do is bring an average size backpack (its only slightly larger than a lunch box) and can fit everything I need in there (money, water, snacks, maps, etc.) and have no problem. It has large straps so it hardly hurts my shoulders. There's a couple of ideas for you. Good luck.;)

Has anybody ever thought about just stopping at a water fountain? They have them all over the parks.

I've found that the water in florida has a metallic taste...I don't like it personally.

Looking at this with interest as I want to find the kids something that they can carry

Oh what a fab idea - I'll just train the kids only to be thirsty near a fountain, and never in the line for a ride or anywhere else :rotfl2:

There are so many drinking fountains there. They are in some of the ques as well. If you are thirsty you won't mind the taste. Needing to drink water from a bottle is a need manufactured by nestle and pepsico.

I know this may be a weird question, but where do you put your bags/backpacks when going on rides, if you don't have a stroller to leave it in.

Don't forget the free soda (from around the world ) in Epcot. We always stop by there and love the watermelon soda. I forget the name of the place, it's by Coke and it's next to the big fountain.
