Do they rent water mouse boats at (or anywhere near) the Boardwalk? Also can a toddler be a passenger? Do they have small life jackets? Thanks!

Tammy

Yes, they rent water mice right in front of the Yacht Club, which is an easy walk from Boardwalk.

I remember seeing child size lifejackets at the rental place, but I don't remember if they looked small enough for toddlers. Not sure what their policy is. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

My DH and DD just did this on Tuesday. My DD is a size 6-6x and she used a child's small life jacket. My husband says there was also a child's extra small life jacket but it was way to snug for Sydney. Hope this helps!!!

About $24 per half hour, and last October they had a special for $32 per hour. I split the rental time with my DS. There are also Family and Captain's plans with a certain number of rental hours, or unlimited hours for up to 5 drivers. The best place to use the mice is probably over at the MK, because the mice go faster. They can be rented at GF, Poly, CR, WL, and FW.

We have never used one of these. Can you just get the instructions and go off? I'm sure kids can...but we are grandparents in body but kids in heart. Thanks. Does it hold just one adult or two? <p>

I believe the weight limit is 250 or 300 pounds. Two adults is possible, but usually everyone wants to drive ; )

The rental age is 12 at the resorts and 14 at Downtown Disney Marina.

I'm just trying to figure out when will best to try and rent one since we are "movies" and have to visit another resort to do this. Melanie

Hi, mecook. We wore swimsuits with shorts over the bottoms and went in the morning before we showered, etc. We did get sprayed with "mist" at times. The lifejackets were also a little damp when we got them. We were glad we weren't all cleaned up before we went. But we decided that we could have worn reg. clothes, because we only got a little damp, not soaked by any means. :D

A few words of advice - the sprites (or mice, whatever you want to call them) vary in speed depeding on their location. In my experience, in order from fastest to slowest:

Fort Wilderness (7 Seas Lagoon) Sprites
Downtown Disney
Beach Club

The old sprites at Downtown Disney were obscenely fast, but they appear to have been slowed down.

The sprites at FW (last time I tried) were a LOT of fun for adults. You can bounce over the wake of other boats, and do skid turns in them. A word of warning though... I took a turn quite fast, and hit some wake from the TTC - MK ferry, and nearly sank the thing with the amount of water that came over the bow. A bit scary, but mostly just a shock from the water temperature - just watch for other craft.

That's my 2 cents :teeth:
