Ok, so you can watch what you hand out....buthow are you going to watch what your children are given when they're out trick or treating?
Yes, the rule is, no candy is to be eaten until it is checked first. I always went trick or treating with my kids, so I was able to check the candy right away if they were just dying to have a piece.
We always went through all the candy together when we got home. It was like a ritual stemming from my childhood where we would separate chocolate from non-chocolate candy from candy that we don't like (that went with hubby to work, lol). Then there were the trades between siblings. Sorry, Off Topic.
When they got much older and trick or treated themselves, same rules. Although, by the time I let them go trick or treating themselves, they were probably too old to go trick or treating or old enough to check candy for unwrapped items etc. if they were to sneak a few treats.
