Was MK at capacity last week?

Does anyone know if MK stopped admitting guests any day last week? It was so crowded, I am wondering if that is as bad as it gets. Does anyone know?

We were there last week. It was really, really crowded. We thought all the parks were crowded from the weekend on. But I don't think they were at capacity. I've been when the crowds have been larger-- right after Easter and a sold out MNSSHP.

The biggest problem we found last week was the FP's were all gond early, and by lunch time waits were 60-120 min++!! We didn't do a lot of attractions or rides. We did a lot of shopping.

We were in WS last night for dinner and Illuminations. I thought it would be very busy. It was busy, but nothing like I expected, or have experienced other times.

There are only three times of year that MK has a real risk of hitting capacity -- Christmas week, Easter-time, and July 4.

I was there last Monday and it was unbelieveably crowded. We arrived around 10 in the morning and stayed until just before closing, but even the pouring rain, and some thunder and lightning did not chase people away. It was so bad at one point that we were at a dead standstill near Peter Pan and Philharmagic. There was just no where to go. We were lucky enough to either get a fastpass or wait in a line that wasnt so long (45 minutes at most) so we did get to do everything we wanted. I do believe it is the last time I will ever go in March though, it was far too crowded.

It was very busy that day, especially after lunch time.
We used Fast Passes all afternoon and enjoyed a late lunch before the 3pm parade at burger place in Frontierland where the parade actually starts.
We were there in early August of 2003 also, when it was very busy also. I will take March "madness-spring break" over summer crowds, heat and humidity any time!!!!

We were there last Wed and I thought the crowds were ridiculous!

Using Fastpasses we managed to ride 7 rides and eat lunch in the short 3 1/2 hours we were there By the time we left, even rides like "It's a Small World" had 40 minute waits.

I felt sorry for all the people who were on vacation and had no choice but to spend it waiting in hour lines.

Before we moved here, we'd been to Disney 3 times, all non-busy times of the year. I never realized the crowd difference until this week.

We won't be returning to the parks until after Easter! It's not worth it, IMO.

Hi there...

We just got back...

After intial hair pulling because of the crowds we got use to it and did park hopping/fastpasses to make it more manageable..

We lucked out. 3/14, 3/15, 3/16 MK was open till 11pm.
It really thinned out at 7-9pm.

They even added extra showings of Fantasmic at MGM on 3/16 and 3/17. Worked out very nicely.

We drove down and had our car. Usually we go in late Aug and the lines/waits were not bad. After the first night of waiting for the bus to Pop Century, we decided to drive our own. We figured it would be bad, but hadnt planned on it bein as bad as it was. Plan for the worst, hope for the best.

Why was it so crowded? We were there over Memorial week last year and the crowds seemed less than in July. Is this a bad sign that my Memorial trip this year will be packed or are the parks crowded for another reason?

Welcome home, Jeff!!! How was Pop Century?

The Spring Break crowds were pretty big last week. On Tuesday, it rained off and on all day... but DS and I headed to the Magic Kingdom around 5:00, and it was great! I guess the long day of drizzle wore everyone out, because the crowds were very light that evening, and we rode everything we wanted to with not much waiting at all... we saw Spectromagic twice and watched Wishes in the park, too.

It did seem like middays (maybe from 11:00-2:00?) were the worst at every park. Mornings and evenings were a lot more pleasant, crowd-wise.

Last week was crowded, but I think nowhere near capacity.

Hi:

I know alot of people from Ontario Canada had their March break this past week.

Deb.

We were there too & participated in an educational program. Our facilitator said it was a very heavy, very unexpected crowds. Basically, people are getting over 9/11 travel fears (2002 was too close, 2003 crowds were still lighter, 2004? people were making up for lost time!)

I just spoke to my parents who have been there since Monday, March 15 and are still there. They said it was crowded but not as bad as summer. They have been in summer 10+ times and october 1 time and feb 1 time. They said it started to get less crowded as the week went on and that today (MGM) was better.

We were there last week as well....arrived on Saturday the 13th and headed to AK. Use FP and hit the shows at the right times...crowds were present but reasonable. On Sunday we did MK on EMH. Have a picture of my kids directly in front of the castle....no one else in sight! We did all of Fantasyland and Toontown before the crowds set in... in the afternoon we saw the Hall of Presidents and relaxed. Stayed in MK until closing at 11:00....very thin crowds (except at Peter Pan)...rained on Monday night, stayed until closing and enjoyed the thinning crowd....rain on Tuesday in AK...very few people....very nice touring with ponchos....sunny on Wednesday....lots of people....I would have been very disappointed if that was my only day in the parks (or if everyday was like that)

The message.....go early, rest in the afternoon, and stay late. We were with another family and our kids (5, 7, 7, 9) fared very well staying in the MK until closing at 11:00. They did rest in the afternoons, however.

We were also at MK on 3/17 and it was quite crowded. However, it was our 4th park in 4 days, and we had figured out the most efficient use of fast passes by then, and were able to go on all of the attractions we had planned on. We did get there 1/2 hour early, which made all the difference. Rode Space Mtn right away and used fast pass on Splash Mtn. Worked out fine.

Yes it was crowded, but we expected that it would be since it was last year when we were there.

Sunday and Monday 3/14-15 - stayed at RPH at US. Used FOTL access both days - FOTL is the only way to go when USF and IOA are busy. It is well worth the extra $$ to stay at a US resort!!

Wed - MGM, Thursday - AKL, EPCOT, Friday - MK, EPCOT
Stayed 2 nights at AKL, 2 nights at the POLY.

Used FP to see all the attractions that we wanted to see (waited in the regular line at the safari - 70 minutes). Since this was a "return" trip to Disney we did not really need to see everything.

This would have been a bad week for a first time visitor. Not for us, we had fun, but yes, it was very crowded.

We were there from 3/14-3/19 and it was crowded. We went the same week in 2002 and the crowds were a lot better. If you got there early and hit a few rides got FP for others it work out OK. Most of the waits got were over 40 min after 11:00. The biggest problem we had was that the fastpasses went very quickly. It seems people are much more knowledgeable of the system now. Test Track would typicaly be out by 1:00 for the whole day.

MK and MGM seem to be the worst. Test Track was the biggest problem at Epcot and the Safari at AK. We actualy went on Mission to Space with a 15 min wait late one night whlie TT had a 75 min wait.

we were there last week and it was pretty crowded. we managed to see "most" of the things we wanted to. Saturday night was crazy at MK!
we needed about 3 more days!
hmmm...maybe we better start planning another trip!
