Warning! New FP Limits for Passholders with Multiple Stays - NOT Split Stays: READ Post #484

Well, what a morning.

Here on the west coast, I was up at 4:00 am, and sure enough, the 60-day window did not open. So I called the AP line, explained to the CM, and was immediately told: "Since you have the May trip, you are only eligible to book three more FPs. What days during your June trip would you like to book for?"

Problem number one: I have five days of FPs booked in May, so if the CM is basing their info on AP holders only being eligible for seven days of FPs at a time, period, then his math was off, and I should have only been able to book two days for June. When I said that my understanding of the seven-day rule is that it only applies if one or more of the stays is offsite, he insisted that no, the fourteen day or length of stay rule only applies to a single consecutive trip. I asked him if that would be the case if the stays were sixty days apart; he grew a little flustered, and said that if it were sixty days out, I'd probably be able to book seven more . . .

Rather than hassle with it so early in the morning with a CM who was all at once overly convinced and clearly confused, I just booked for the three days in my June trip that I knew would present the biggest challenges, and I plan to call when I'm more alert and ask for clarification about when I'll be eligible to book the other two days.

I guess I'm still confused, because after reading this thread, the information on the website, and multiple other sources that work to interpret the on-site stay booking rules for AP holders, I really don't know what I'm actually entitled to. What I do know is that Disney is making it way, way too complicated for me to fly across the country and spend a ton of money by staying at their resorts multiple times a year. No matter how they define or interpret their rules, that seems like bad math to me.

@DizFan13 - Please email George Kalogridis. They should be able to make FPs for your entire second stay.

Please explain that you have two Disney hotel stays and with only 5 days of FPs your second window did not open. Please let them know that you are hearing from the CMs that only 7 days of FPs can be booked with an AP when staying onsite, etc.

@DizFan13 at this point I guess that was the expected results given the experience in this thread. I don't think they expected a fix until next week. However, the fact that they haven't informed the AP CMs of the rules, the issue, etc. is unacceptable. If people have gotten calls from DVC and from other CMs indicating they know there are issues and what the rules really are one would think the AP VIP support would have a clue.

Thank you for coming back and clarifying. So either the second window doesn't open or it opens if you have eligible guests, but limits you to 7 days. Where are you staying in May? And where are you staying in June? And do you have any CLFP for any of the stays? And (sorry, last question), do you have any FP days booked that are not while staying at a Disney hotel?
Pop and POFQ in May. I had to do a split because my flight got cancelled so we had to come in a day earlier. June is WL. It is also a split stay because I am DVC and did not have enough points to cover my trip so I rented one nights worth. I'm just a barrel of ressies, aren't I? HAHA. No CLFP and FPS booked without a Disney resort ressie.

What you were told is exactly what I was told by 2 different CMs. one from IT who went and checked with superiors and one in GS who also went and checked with superiors. Not to say phone CMs have ever been spot on but two different departments and the same answer just makes me question if this is a glitch or not.

My situation is a good example of this not being an AP problem. I have a 10-day date-based ticket for my late April trip and a 4-day old (not date-based) ticket for my mid-June trip. The June trip is solo, so I can’t umbrella. The June window will not open.

Suggestions? Should I email the AP guy whose name is mentioned here or someone else?

You are entitled to fp for every day of both onsite stays. The only time a limit comes into play is if your trip is greater than fourteen days. As stated, email George Kalogridis and tell his office exactly what you told us. He needs to know how grossly uninformed his AP staff is.

Please email George Kalogridis george.kalogridis@disney.com and let his office know what you have indicated here. He's more than an AP guy, he's the president of WDW and should 1) be able to give you FPs for your June trip and 2) they need to know that guests with multiple stays and valid tickets are unable to make FPs for their next stay.

Will do! Thanks for helping me understand.

There was a person who did not have 7 days of FPs booked and the second window did not open. I have to look back through the thread to tag the appropriate person, but I think this person only had 4 days of FPs booked. And @anomamatt tested with tickets that had enough entitlements and his second window did not open. The issue is the closing of the rolling window after a first onsite stay is preventing the second onsite window from opening at all.
I’m having this exact issue today! I have a trip in May with only 4 days of FP+ followed by a trip in June 2 weeks later. My FP+ window should have opened today but I’m blocked out. On the phone with IT right now to see if they can fix it.

The CM was unable to reach anyone on the support team to fix the issue. She did send a report and they are supposed to reach out to me via email. Ugh. Meanwhile, the clock is ticking and hard to get FP+ are being booked by the minute!

They will not be able to "fix it," because the fix requires them changing this hard close on the rolling window. They are supposedly working on it. But they may offer to make FPs for you (but they would be unmodifiable). Regardless of the outcome of your call, please, please email George Kalogridis george.kalogridis@disney.com and let his office know your problem with your Disney resort stays and 4 days of FPs booked and the window for your next Disney resort stay not opening. 1) They may be able to give you anytime FPs for your June trip and 2) They really need to know that it is not acceptable that guests with multiple Disney stays and valid tickets are unable to make FPs for their next stay.

We are at Disney right now. From the way our FP window is displaying they seem to really have this coded wackily. It still shows me April 12 (check in day) as a valid booking date for FPs.....

Yes! I had that too. My entire stay was highlighted in blue, even after the day passed. When the stay completely dropped out of MDE, the morning after my stay ended, my next window opened. And, I was unable to look for FPs in a different park if I already had FPs in one park, until that first stay dropped.

Luckily for us our next window is supposed to open the day after we check out anyway....

Easiest solution there ever was. Scrap FP+ and put the FP machines back in the park and everyone in the park has the same opportunity to get FP for as long as they legitimately last.

No thanks...

Or they could just fix the system that they broke a couple of weeks ago.

Sorry, I like the FP system. I like the perk of early selection by staying on site and I like to be able to plan my FPs around my dining and other activities.

After I emailed Disney this morning, I received a phone call. They are still working on the issue and hope to have it resolved by the end of the week. It’s awesome to know they are listening and working hard to get things sorted out!
Thanks for reporting back! I do hope the fix stays on schedule. Would be great if it's fixed before my next onsite stay. I've already been through one round of this and would be happy to see a 60-day window open as it should.

Did they offer to make FPs for you?
