Warning! New FP Limits for Passholders with Multiple Stays - NOT Split Stays: READ Post #484

I am saying the issue may be with APs who have the maximum number of days booked.
Just to clarify. The issue is NOT the 7-day limit on APs or even only APs. It’s important that we are clear about this when discussing with CMs so it gets properly fixed. There was a person who did not have 7 days of FPs booked and the second window did not open. I have to look back through the thread to tag the appropriate person, but I think this person only had 4 days of FPs booked. And @anomamatt tested with tickets that had enough entitlements and his second window did not open. The issue is the closing of the rolling window after a first onsite stay is preventing the second onsite window from opening at all.

As far as I know, this is the only issue now. The 7-day FP limit kicks in when you have an FP and don’t have a Disney resort stay associated with it (that includes Disney Springs hotels, which get 60-days but are NOT Disney hotels. It also includes CLFP because those FPs are made prior to 60- days and MDE has issues recognizing them as associated with an onsite stay.

I have this exact issue - second trip window opened, but could only book one day (first trip is 8 days, but only made 7 days of FP, confirming that MDE counts the number of days from the first trip and simply ignores the number of days, but not the existence of the second trip). I sent an email on Monday night to george.kalogridis@disney.com at 10pm. At 10am on Tuesday I got a phone call from DVC guest relations (I am a DVC member and that was included in my email).

I had some resolution with a cast member earlier regarding manually booking FP to match up to others on the trip (also included in my email). She was very nice and offered some anytime FP for me to help with the fact that I wouldn't be able to 1. Add 4th or 5th FP on park days on my first trip, and 2. the FP on the second trip are non-modifiable. Which I think is a workaround and won't completely solve my issues, but it does sound like they are working on it.

When I explained that I had read about this issue and that I wasn't the only one (thanks to Dis) she did say that people should be emailing in - the more that do, the more attention it should receive, and it sounds like they are getting the message.

I don't think this is intentional - if it were, they would have changed the policy on the website. My reading of the policy (and I said this to the Cast Member on the phone) is that for every separate stay onsite (with space in between) AP holders should be allowed up to 14 days of FP. And that the language that is written in their policy is up for interpretation (is it 14 days of FP per 60 days? or is it 14 days per trip?) and that clarification is needed. She agreed...not sure if that goes anywhere.

At this point, for me, I think I've done about as much as I can do to be ready for the two. Will it be a little less than magical - probably, esp if I have to stand in line for guest services to get more FP on a park day (and explain it each time). Will it ruin the trip, no.

IT is great - when it works....
Mark, what hotels are you staying at?
Do you have any FPs booked without a Disney owned hotel?
What are your dates?

I received a call back from DVC. They said they expect the issue will be resolved before my fastpass window opens (August for 1 trip, September for the other). Not a whole lot added, but I guess they seem to know it's a glitch.
Thanks for the info. That's good to know as I have an August 3 trip that would be affected by this.

Just heard back. They are working on a fix that should be forthcoming very soon. Cast member assured me that I will be able to make fourteen days of fast passes for each stay even if those stats are less than sixty days apart.
Thank you! Was the info given to you by an AP CM?

a new twist
i now have the rolling 30 day window with fastpass selection after my April/May stay. we check out May 10. May 11 opened up and I was able to make a fastpass for May 11, a non on site day, and i was able to even though i have 9 days booked for the April/May stay.

i emailed WdW this morning and got a call back within 2 hours that they are aware of the issue and had an offer to set up fastpasses for my June 5 to 11 stay. i had them do one for June 6 and was told if i wanted i could decide which fastpasses i wanted and call back and they would help me.

Every onsite guest in my previous post includes APs.

I use Guest Passes at WDW and Comps w/MaxPass at DLand and have never been blocked from booking additional same-day FPs.
We absolutely were in January and it was because the guest passes had 3 additional days of FPs booked and in fact they would only allow four days worth of FPs to be booked on the guest passes since they couldn't be assigned to a person that had an onsite stay. So annoying, the CM can book all of the days of FPs because they are listed on the reservation, but not guest passes and if four (three additional plus the current day) days are already booked you cannot book additional day of FPs.

So the only two "normal" users on the thread who have heard back from Disney are DVC? Has anybody actually heard from the AP folks?

well, not sure if I categorize myself as "normal" or not (DH would argue my disney usage is NOT normal), but I am NOT DVC. I did not hear back from my phone calls or emails to AP, other than the form letter, "we're working on your problem and you should hear back from us." I have a club level stay coming up and DSS called me back to inform me that couldn't help with my problem (making more than 7 fp even though I had more days of onsite stays) but I could purchase the club level fast passes. I DID hear back within less than 24 hours when I send ant email to Kalogridis and have been exchanging phone calls with a CM associated with that email. She has been very helpful. Also, said they are working on a better solution for frequent visitors and told me multiple times that Disney loves its passholders.

Thanks, by "normal" I meant somebody who is not the site president :-)

So sounds like between what you were told and the DVC members were told a solution is in the works.

Yes, I believe they are working on a solution and that this problem was created by fixing the rolling window. I don't think it was intentional or even thought it might happen. They also didn't realize that it impacts a good amount of people. One of my phone conversations with the AP line, a CM told me that "We have heard your cries." (And not me, in particular, but others who were trying to book multiple days of fp with interrupted stays). I think there has been enough people contacting them that they are now being more aggressive at coming up with the solution. I am anxious and excited to see what it is because I will base my future trips around it.

i sent the email to george.kalogridis@disney.com and heard back within 2 hours. i'm just an AP and not DVC. The CM who was not from the AP section, i'm pretty sure, said he understood there was something going on and they were working on it. thanked me for being an AP and offered to set up fastpasses for my June trip. He could not said when this would be fixed but alluded to something being in the works for frequent on-site guests.

Other APs, not in this thread, have reported that once the FP system knows FPs have been maxed out for an AP Profile, no additional FPs can be booked even when valid regular tickets are linked to the same Profile.
We have APs and separate one day tickets and we still maxed out at 7. The AP overrides any tickets, I was told.

I keep saying this, but this issue is not specific to APs. It's important to understand that (which is why I (and @hiroMYhero ) keep saying it), because if they are not told the actual problem, it won't be fixed.

The issue is specific to two stays in close proximity to one another, but not connected. The second FP window doesn't open. It's not specific to an AP. The problem exists with multi-day tickets, too.

So when you all email, be sure to be clear about what the problem actually is.
I guess I didn't necessarily realize that I was having this issue because, since my boys are not going on the first trip with us, we were umbrella'd with them to make our June FPs. So now that I understand it, we were both experiencing this issue and the 7 day max issue.

Yes, I only had 1 day of FPs booked for May and my window for June still did not open.

However, I was experiencing this issue as well. I was able to book my June FPs because I was unbrella'd with my boys who are not on the May trip...so once we reached 7 total (including the one in May) we received a message that we had reached our limit of FPs.

Thank you for coming back and clarifying. So either the second window doesn't open or it opens if you have eligible guests, but limits you to 7 days. Where are you staying in May? And where are you staying in June? And do you have any CLFP for any of the stays? And (sorry, last question), do you have any FP days booked that are not while staying at a Disney hotel?
