Yeah i had the same question and hadnt had a chacne to look at my instructions to see about the postcards, i dint remember reading about any, but thats what im figuring, write a note to a soldier, what else coudl they be for?

The cards to write notes to soldiers....Will you just fan them out on your table or tell people about it? Seems like so much to talk about with several Coppertone products and swim diapers!:confused3

Soldiers Postcards.

The only thing I've found is on the staying-connected homepage. Click the "Connecting with soldiers" box. It looks like you can buy more cards -- for what ever reason. And from that page (at the top) click News. Looks like this campaign has been on for past 2 yrs. :confused3 The articles say that MC will forward the postcards to soldiers.

OK.....how do WE get the postcards to MC? Do we collect them & mail them in hoping to be reimbursed? Not that I would really worry about it personally since DH is military & anything for his buddies.

OR, do customers take the cards & mail them into MC themselves? I feel they should have been postage paid if that was the case.

I'm going to put out the cards. And take some pens. If anyone fills them out, I'll just mail them to MC in a large envelope. Last year, we had to mail back MLB ballots, and include our postage receipts. I was never paid for the postage. It was small. I didn't worry about it.

I think they are probably supposed to mail them in themselves. Stamp won't cost much compared to what it would be if they sent it directly.

I'm back from Walmart shopping. My local regular WM. Not huge. But good size.

Here's what I found:
1. A large cardboard display in the main HBA aisle of Coppertone baby spray (only) products.... INCLUDING 3 marked tester bottles in little cup holder thingy on top of display. A good amount of traffic, but very crowded area.

2. The HUGE main sunscreen selection is in the main aisle in between the CLOTHING depts - but towards back of store. All companies & all types. Everything including sunglasses & water proof watches nearby. Sort of a corner of the store that doesn't get alot of traffic. If you ask for sunscreen, this is where they send you.

3. Very small selection of Pampers Swimmers buried deep in the baby clothing dept on the back wall of store where the diapers are. Probably because its early here to be swimming. Probably just enough for vacation crowd.

So....those are my choices for set up. OR at front of the store in area of portrait studio (Sat -- pictures of kids;) ), Subway sandwiches & restrooms. I'll have more room & visability at front of store. But unfortunately, only the product I can grab for sales.

I'm thinking I'll set up at front of store. Grab a carriage & grab a bunch of product from the above locations. AND make signs to leave at Pampers location that samples are available (while supplies last) from 11-4 TODAY near front of store. And something similar for the 2 Coppertone locations. I'll tape the signs to the shelves. I've seen other demo companies with pre-printed signs for their shelves. Hopefully, WM won't mind. ;)

BTW.....there are A LOT of bottles to count for inventory.

Everyone get the email about the coppertone sales contest??:thumbsup2

Yes, and can I say how unfair I think these contests are. There are so many variables why a product might or might not sell that I don't think it's fair to everyone. And why do we need to count it if the stores are providing the sales figures? :confused3 I'm only going to count what we're featuring. They have so many more products than what we've got. It's going to be a nightmare as it is since the product is in multiple locations.

By the way, Event instructions are now up for Betty Crocker Seasoned Skillets & Nature Valley Cinnamon Cereal. Guess I need to get out my electric skillet and make sure it still works.

splsh- are you going to count ALL the coppertone or just the ones we are testing??

Probably just the ones we are sampling / testing. But on the special cardboard Coppertone display in the HBA section, there was a lot there to count. I'll probably tidy up the rows & do a quick "block" count to get an idea if its too hard to count each.

Since they are doing the contest & looking at sales thru the register, they'll know how much was sold anyway. lol

Yep, it sure would be nice to win even 3rd place but i have to agree while its a nice incentive, the store i am doing this at is very low budget area, most on gvt help. Depending on price, it may or may not do well, sure they have a bunch of regular folk on there that could prob afford $4 sunscreen or however much this costs but....

anyway yeah i only count featured stuff, otherwise with some of these events id lose my mind and i estimate a lot too if theres just too much or to high on shelves to count.

I checked my store yesterday and the price was like $6.77..... and I think the other one was $7 something.... Not sure how many of those I can sell...

ok what is up with all the Thurs. events? There is a Green Giant veggie one on 5/31

Got it. Thanks. But what's up with them not being at my 2 new WM Supercenters near my house. I'm trying to give up having to drive 40 miles for events only at the Supercenters. ugh!

MUST REMEMBER TO BUY MORE PAPER FOR PRINTER! May is busy!

Mudnuri, I got the DVD back. Thanks.

I would love Thursday events (my day off!) but none here!

I never made it by the wal-mart I'm working at tomorrow so I'll just figure out where I want to set up when I get there......I'm thinking near the coppertone if it's in a good area!

I have off every other Fri so events on those days would be nice :)

I was thinking of setting up back in the kids section where the Pampers splashers are. There is more room back there. I'm bringing napkins so people can wipe off if need be. Does anyone else have a boatload of napkins left over from events?

 I do have a ton of forks and those little souffle cups too. I only have 2 tables so far.....and the sturdy table I take when I do the microwave events (I just don't trust that cardboard table....).
