I did a "practice" set up today and I think I have it figured out. I'm not taking 2 tables. Will have enough to take w/ out an extra table.

Ok so since you did this, the only thing on the table is the triangle thing right?? And that gives you enough to put out the for purchase product??? I am thinking that altho they say they dont like boxes if i dont do the extra table which you are leaning me towards not doing since you say there is enough room i may just laeve that brown box net to me behind the table and keep all my stuff in there.

FYI- There's an addendum email to the Coppertone event.

Was that the one that printed with the event intructions initially or did you get an actual email??? Cuz when the instructions first came up i had an addendum on them already.

I print my stuff off when I book and put it in a notebook. There wasn't an addendum then. I just received an email this afternoon.

No way will I have room in a Walmart for 2 tables. Too crowded. Target - sure. Walmart - never.

I finished opening my 8 boxes & condensing & tosses extra signs. I have my table packed with signage. And the Swimmers boxes with all extra goodies added. I've got a total of 8 shirts & 4 hats now. I'm keeping 2 shirts (4 events) & 1 hat. I plan on giving the 3 other hats away to customers like the shirts. That should be ok, right? And I'll probably give away the 3 extra pins too since I only need 1 for 4 events. It sure was Christmas here too: 24 bottles of sunscreen, 8 shirts, 4 hats, countless CD's, stickers, swimmers...........

So....how are you setting up your displays to get this to fit? Need ideas badly!

I haven't tried the sprays yet, but I'm wondering about people wanting something to wipe their hands on. :confused3  I'm not sure if I would want to spray Coppertone on myself while shopping. ;) But I would like to see the spray in action...like into a napkin or something. Or so I could smell it. Or see if its greasy. LOL Knowing me, I would actually want a wet wipe to clean my hands. :lmao:

I've never, ever had a problem before. It keeps coming up Microsoft Word, which I'm not going to pay for, even when I download the "free word viewer"
Oh well, I'll just have to go by my office tomorrow (my day off) and print it then.

What if you download the file by clicking Save instead of Open. Then, go to where you saved the file, right click on the file name, click "Open with"...and pick Word Viewer or WordPad. Will that work? It sounds like your computer wants to open all .doc files with Word & can't figure out to use the Word Viewer.

If that works for you, then go back to the screen where you picked the program to open the file. At the bottom, there is a box "use this program to always open this type of file". Click that. Now, every time you try to open a .doc file, it will use WordViewer (or what ever you picked that worked).

FYI: Nothing has changed that I can see. Report forms have always been .doc & open in Word or WordViewer. Instructions have always been .pdf files & open in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

It sounds like your computer was changed to try to open .doc files with a different program than it had been using.

Are you using Windows XP or the new Windows Vista? Instructions are for XP, but I've found slightly different online for Vista. I'll be around tonight & tomorrow if you still need help. We can PM or email. Google something like: open .doc without word I found the directions for Word Viewer from Windows...but also computer forums with people having problems on Vista.

Splsh---WOW!! You are way too kind to have written all that down for me!!
I tried it! Kept going back to the other page to read your instructions and it worked!! Have no idea what or how things changed in my computer but something sure did! I hope it works again next time or I'll be asking for directions again!;)
Thank you again SO very much!!:thumbsup2

Set up-
This is what I did:
I had the coppertone triangle thingy on the table on one side then the spalshers sign on the other. In front of the splashers sign I just put 3 samples there. 1 in each size. Then in front of the coppertone sign I'll have room to put some product there. The testers will be more in the center. I have a small basket where I put the brochures and stuck those little tattoo's in there also. The stickers/cd's I just had towards the back of the table for me to have access to them. Won't take long to get rid of the cd's as there are not many of them!

The sample splashers I'll keep in the brown box they came in and keep them behind the table w/ me. I'll just take from that box as I need them. I'll use product from the store to perhaps set on the floor in front of my table.

I just realized we'll be counting alot of beginning inventory with splashers AND coppertone!!! :sad2:

Also, in this wal-mart I'm going to, coppertone is in one section and the splashers in the baby/kids section. Where are you all setting up?? I'm thinking the splashers will draw more attention than the coppertone. Not sure how many people will want to spray it on themselves in a store. I do like that product though! Used it last summer!:)

Well for me I do the same thing, but the first day I noticed the instructions where up, pretty much as soon as it was posted here..lol...i had the first page as an addendum it was something about an rcr form and taking it with you to the event. I just went to look to make sure i hadnt lost my mind..hehe

:) I had the form. I thought the new info was about adding Spiderman to the Dora and friends talk. Was that in the earlier stuff? My book is out in the car......

:thumbsup2 No problem. I'm pretty good with computers. And if I don't know, then I ask DH.....the database admin. :goodvibes He knows everything. LOL

Just glad it worked.

Set up sounds good. Thanks so much.
Yes, alot to count for inventory.
Now that you mention products being in 2 different departments, I'm thinking of asking to set up near front of store if they will allow. I'll have more room & I'll be able to hit everyone as they walk in. I'll also be near the bathroom so people can wash themselves off. ;) Besides, this is where this store tries to stick me most of the time anyway. Unfortunately, not near either product. I'll have to have a bunch on hand for sales if I set up there.

If they don't allow near front, I guess I'll try HBA area....only because in this store, kids dept is hidden way in the back. I'll miss all the children-less people like myself you may be interested in Coppertone if I set up way back there. I'll need to have a bunch of swimmers on hand for sales. However, no one goes swimming in New England till at least July. So sales may be low on them anyway.

I have this weird feeling though that there is a Coppertone display set up in some stupid place in the store. Like in seasonal or something. Store is only 2 miles away. Maybe I'll take a ride tomorrow & scope it out. Besides, I need cat food.

BTW, I sprayed myself. That's neat!! I never knew they had spray. Now I have to read what the difference is between lotion & the others. I buy the Coppertone Sport. We go thru alot between jetskiing & swimming off family boats in Cape Cod Bay. My dad runs charterfishing boat & hauls lobster traps. My brother scubas. And his wife is VERY fair skin & lives under the umbrella even on the boat. LOL....between all of us, we go thru a ton of sunscreen. I've never seen any of them with spray either.

just booked my first two events!! They are coppertone on tuesday and wednesday of next week and i am VERY nervous. No kits yet but i only just booked yesterday- how long do the kits usually take to arrive? Also, I'm wondering what to do if i have extra coppertone? Do i take it home with me? If i have extra splashers on tuesday can i use them for wednesday's event? what do i do with the extras? Thanks so much guys! Does this one seem like an easy event for a first timer? Thanks So much!!!

okay got my coppertone boxes-

Here's my thought- from what I did in the bedroom mock up LOL

Left side, pampers- right side coppertone....each sign on its side

In front of sign, pampers newborn packs from store (no longer in kit) individual samples of the 3 sizes in kit,

on right- cans of the coppertone stuff from store inventory- more than likely just the 3 types in the kit...

I have a large tote bag, that I have my supplies in- and will keep that behind the table- the extra pampers- flyers etc.

the flyers I will place out in fan style on the table- the stickers I will be seperating at some point tonight, and also fan style them on the table.

Depending on store stock, I may use some packs of the pampers on the floor in front of the table- though not to block the coppertone sign...

Now, whose done the hershey's anti-oxident bars yet??? I have that on Sunday- I'm definetly going to check for store stock on Saturday- they never seem to have a great candy selection...especially new stuff...

ldb1030 Your computer sounds like mine. It changes things all the time. I swear it's the virus program I run. By any chance do you have Mcafee as your virus program?

Oh a tip for all of you doing the Coppertone spray event. It's great for the areas hard to get to by yourself ie. backs. I use it all the time. I used it the last couple of years in WDW and no brunt back :thumbsup2.

Now I wish June would start to open up in my area :scared:

Mudnuri, I am also doing the hersheys antioxidant bars on sunday. My store can go either way but i dont worry about that one cuz its like 10 minutes away so i dont mind driving out for no reason, had it hapopen once and they always (cept that one time) have my kit for me, its the only store that knows me ands recognizes me, youd think i usually do the same store but hte WM are so big I hardly ever see the same people.

Splsh: I know Ive seen and used spray stuff before but dont remember what brand like PP said its great when you dont have anyone that can get to those hard spots for you.

As far as the leftovers, I think that is you are running another event the net day go ahead and take it but that is just what id do since technically you are suposed to leave product but I dont think the stores care or that MC checks up on that. In my experince they give you the weirdest look when you try to leave open and used stuff behind....you never know you may need it for the next event.

Does anybody know what we're suppose to do with the "Thinking of you" postcards? :confused3 They're addressed to MC. Does someone write a note to a soldier then MC forwards a stack together?

I was just going to ask that!!

I have Spysweeper but I bet you are correct! Drives me nuts!!

I did the Cacao Reserve by Hershey about 2 months ago. I was surprised to see Kmart had a display in the main aisle in the back, plus some in the candy aisle. That's twice now (and I'm not in Kmart very often) that they've had an endcap or aisle display of my product in that aisle.

Wow, the Coppertone event sounds complicated! Don't know if I should be jealous I don't have the chance to do it...or relieved!:rotfl:

Not really complicated...just lots of stuff to give out!
I'm going to run by the wal-mart today and see where I want to set up. This wal-mart really does not care, not sure they even know when I'm there so I'll decide what I should do.

Quick question...for counting inventory - do we only count inventory that matches our samples, or of all featured items?
