Things have really slowed down here, compared to the past few months. No Coppertone events ever showed up, and the only events listed for the last week or two are for 5/20, which I can't do.
I only have four events this month, and nothing for next month yet. Keep trying to think of it as a nice little break, but those paychecks are so nice!!!

On the subject of other demo people telling us what to do:
My last job, the Promo person kept going on about Walmart making them wear buttons with their names on them (because I didn't have a nametag), and how they couldn't be in the store without a nametag. How they had to know your name if you were going to be in the store, etc.
I just stood there and smiled, didn't respond and she finally left me alone. This was the same one that grabbed my paperwork out of my hands last year to give the company name to someone wanting a job.

In a ST, there is a MC person who gets upset about how I set up the table. I can't use the napkins provided in my kit, I have to use the ST napkins (with red targets). I once had some plain white napkins I was only using to clean up a spill, and she jumped all over me for it.
I also had to use a special holder for the sugar packets when I did coffee, not the baskets in the kit!
I feel like saying, "Who died and made you boss?":rotfl:

But then there are the really nice people that make up for it. The older lady next to me last time gave me so much food on my break, it was like lunch (she had 2 Kashi entrees, dried cranberries and pomegranate juice). When I left, she gave me two full glasses of juice, and told me I was sooo nice. She was really sweet.

Earstou, I hear you. This job has spoiled me. I often wonder if I'll be able to ever go back to a "real" job where I would have to work with co-workers more closely. ;) I really prefer working alone. Not BEING alone, just working alone. :goodvibes I've had my fill of doing my job & my co-workers job while they slack off.

No Copperstone kits yet here either.

Hi everyone. My first event is Saturday..Coppertone & Pampers!! I am a nervous wreck.:scared1: I hate doing new things!!! I haven't received my kit yet. I have a question from the Instruction sheet though - it has 5 featured Coppertone items plus 3 more features from the kit AND 1 featured Pamper product in addition to the 3 in the kit. Do I just take a few of the "extra" featured products and put on my table. I have a feeling the table is going to be pretty crowded. Do we set up product on the floor around the table or does that create some liability issues???

Also, does the store manager usually tell you where to set up? I read that some of you use a table clothe...is that in the kit or should I always have one on hand? I am planning on packing a general supply box to keep in my car for future events (like tape, trash bags, gloves, etc.).

Finally, does anyone have any last minute advice?

My coppertone kit just arrived- 2 boxes. I am doing this event on Sat & off date next week & so far I only recv'd 1 kit

Coppertone on-date kit arrived. Now just waiting for 3 more for off-dates.

My 2 boxes for coppertone/splashers was here when I got home from work!:thumbsup2 I'll have my hands full taking all that stuff in the store!

How does everyone plan on getting most of that on your table??

I currently work for the merchandising team and a few months ago, got an email from Mary Ann Watson from SPI, saying that she sees I work for TMT and if I want, I can apply for SPI. I emailed her back then, and just today, I got an email again from her, stating that she cannot locate my information, and if I could I have to send her a copy of my drivers license and SS. number, and fill out a new applicaion.
My question is for those of you working for SPI, is Mary Ann Watson a legitimate person from SPI? In this day and age of indentity theft, I get very worried about someone asking me for my SS# and drivers license. Did anyone else get this email?

THanks!

Got my Splasher kit and boy are my kids having a field day with this one. I had to explain to them that the CD's are for Mommy to give out not for you all:rotfl:

I am kind of excited about this one, events with good freebies normally go over well.

Waiting on my gazillion on and off date kits aswell!!

I got the 2 boxes for Coppertone/Splashers. What is everyone going to do with all those Splashers? They will be hard to store neatly until they are all given out.:confused3

MaMa3Princess,
My DD5 was really interested in my kit also!!!

New events coming up at WM for 5/24. Betty Crocker seasoned skillets and Nature Valley cereal.

I'm not sure if Mary Ann Watson is legit or not. Why don't you try emailing them at SCContactUs@StayingConnected.com. I do know I didn't have to supply any info again when SPi picked me up from TMT.

Yes, you'll need to get some of the featured product off the shelf and display on your table. Don't overload the table - just make a nice display. I've not put small items on the floor - just cases of pop though I've seen some photos where product was placed on the floor.

Set Up - Stop at Customer Service, let them know you're there and ask them where they want you to set up keeping set up location from our directions in mind. Once you've worked a store, you'll know what their procedures are.

Tablecloths are typically not included in the kits. If you'd like to spruce up your look, you can include them on your table. Plastic ones can be purchased at the Dollar store and cut down to size. I just cover the top of my table with a little overhang and get 8 out of one plastic cloth.

Advice - Practice putting your table together so when you get to the store you know what you're doing. Relax. It'll go fine.

I was able to pick one up. Wasn't there when I checked 35 minutes ago.

I know see how you constantly have to stay alert. I checked right when I got home and then before I get ready to go to bed and there is an event.

Thanks all you disers for keeping a look out:cheer2: Joyce I have a milkcrate that I am going to try and stuff all those diapers in and set the coppertone samples on top. It is a little more streamline then the big bulky box that they came in.

Hey just wanted to let you guys know that new events at walmart are popping up on 5/24 it is a betty crocker and nature valley event!

I'm going to look at all the stuff in the kit tomorrow. There was alot. And expect some STUPID baby diaper swim pants type questions from me tomorrow. ;) :rotfl: Me. 42 yrs old female. No kids. And I think I've only changed 1 diaper in my life - well, actually I assisted DH. :lmao: Babies are NOT my thing. And I never baby sat growing up.

I've got a really huge canvas (brown / blue) new tote bag. I'm going to see what I can cram into that. I'm not keen on having boxes hanging around my table. And the signs & stuff can go into the table kit.

Just got done making myself a list of events to watch for off-dates. Between some prior commitments like parents yardsale weekend, appointments, all these on-dates & lots of off-dates....May is going to be BOOKED SOLID for me. YIKES!! I wonder if its going to stay this way? Kind of doubt it though. May of last year was NOT this busy at all.

I wonder if I can hire someone to spring clean my house & take care of our tiny condo garden. LOL May is my month to do that.
