Walt's Warriors (Team 7) Miles and Hours

Barb - I know ChiRunnign was a lot of it. However, havign that half and Minnie on my schedule kept me going on my workouts after marathon better than I have have. Howver, I think ChiRUnning has done a lot for me and is helping with my hammy issues.

DId 5 miles in 60 min on teh TM last night.

HI Warriors! What a crazy week for me!

Hi guys! I've been MIA for a little while now, and s-l-o-w-l-y getting back on track. Vacation, flu, flu, flu, book fair, yada yada yada. Ugh.

Anyway, wlecome Miranda and anyone else I've not said "Hi!" to since I dropped off he face of, well, the WISH board at least.

I only logged in 3.1 miles this week, and a total exercise minutes of 60. But, next week will look even better, I promise!

Cheers, it's Friday and here's to a great weekend!!

:)

Cari - Great to see you! I was about to call out the houds! ;)

Becky - CHiRunning is a technique by Danny Dreyer that allows you to run in a "no impact" adn very effecient way and avaoid injuries. It's based upon theories of Tai Chi. I started using it in March adn have already noticed a huge difference. There is a book caled ChiRunning. It's not hard to read, but boring. However, it's a must read if you want ot try it. Now that I've been through it and been to a class, I am very glad I read it adn have it for refernce now.

Hey all! Lots of great work happening! I love being a Warrior with all of you!

As for me--today was my very first speed drill! :scared1: I started with an easy 10-minute jog as a warm up, then I did six sets of speed work. I ran two telephone pole distances at 80% max (not a full sprint, but darn fast), then the next 2 poles were back to an easy jog, then 2 poles at 80% and so on. Then finish with an easy jog the rest of the way home. After about the third speed run, I had to walk for one pole length, then jog 2, and then start the next run. So it was a run-walk-jog combo deal. :rotfl2: I definitely have some work to do on this.

The results...well, I can honestly say it was one of the most challenging and taxing workouts I have ever done. It totally kicked my a$$. And I am sure that I will be feeling it tomorrow. It was a bit of a love-hate thing. It was HARD, but I was also really proud of myself for doing it. Thank God it is only one day a week!

As for time...3 miles in (get this) 29 minutes! WHOA! What a difference! That is a PR for me by like 4 minutes!

Also did some stretching and light lifting...so 3 miles and a total of 43 minutes.

6.23 mile run 1:00 this morning
2.40 mile run 26 minutes with kids running club

Carrie, is it good for bad knees? any run I do over like 9 miles and my knees are killing me!

Becky

Well done warriers!

I did a 3 mile run yesterday 28mins and a LONG shopping day today (not counting that, but it was literally hours and hours!), in def need of a lie in!

Total for the week 21.5miles, 192 mins.

I can't believe how few lines are left on my training plan before THE MINNIE!

I know you guys are hunting the Bunnies furry hides so you guys should know that they had a team bike-a-thon this weekend to gather miles. Not that I don't think you guys can't think up things on your own, just giving you an intell report on the competition's game plan.

Hey Warriors! Happy week-end! Love the idea of some type of team event!

I logged a 4.3 mile run today and did some strength training for a total of 70 minutes. I am definitely looking at getting a good bike for the spring and summer for some more cross-training.

3 mile run in 32 minutes

Is anyone else doing the Muddy Buddy at disney world on May 20th?

8 miles in 126.20 The major problem with being so slow is it takes so much time to train.

I need to find another race so I don't become the team slug!

 Hey lovlies.

Well i got up and watched the london marathon start at 09.45 which included one of my friends- couldn't quite see her tho! Then i got all inspired and popped outside to do my long run instead of the gym.... 10miles 1hr 29mins (89mins). I did 6 laps of our village and got home fine, as soon as i stopped tho i could barely walk, my knees died! Ice and chilly bath for the first time ever and they're feelin ok.

Just tracked my friend- she's at 25km in 2hr 40 so she's doing fantastically. Oh i'm feeling proud!

Anyway, hope you're all having a lovely weeked- i'm def up for a bikethon too to rack up some miles. THAT'S MY LONGEST PRE-MINNIE RUN DONE  I couldn't have got this far without all you guys so thank you so so much

I did a LW today!!

8.10miles, 1hr:59min:14sec (aprox 14:43pace)
Warmup and down .20miles and 5min

I'm off to ice. Take care warriors!

Happy Sunday Warriors!!

I was out of town Tuesday - today, but did manage to do a 6 mile run in 57:00 on Wednesday & another 6 miler in 59:00 on Friday.

I was in Dayton, Ohio at the Winterguard International World Championships. Over 330 different guards competed & my daughter's Guard placed 3rd out of 70 guards in her class!!! A Bronze Medal at World Championships!

I also found out that hills way above sea level suck!

I Think my total mileage for last week is 47.3 in 4:05:00.

Also, yesterday was a loooong day. We got up yesterday morning, Worlds Class finals finished at 1 a.m. today. Went back to the hotel, showered, changed, drove to Columbus for aa early morning flight, got home at noon, and finally got to bed at 1 p.m. today for a 2 hour nap. 27 hours without sleep. Gee. I remember the days I would pull a schedule like that for fun.
