Hello, everyone!
All this talk of walking in the rain/mist sounds great! I enjoy walking in moisture, as long as it's not pouring down. That doesn't happen much around here anyway. I also like walking in the sun, as long as it's not TOO hot and when it's snowing, as long as it's not TOO cold! LOL! The only one I really dislike is when it's cold AND windy. Ick! Wind is not my thing AT ALL.
My DH is a great guy, even though he's not a walker.

However, he is VERY supportive of my efforts, as long as I leave him out of the deal! LOL! We have been married 28 wonderful years and I am lucky enough, also, to say that he's my best friend. We have two great kids and 5 fun grandsons. I wonder sometimes what my life would have been like without him, and the first word that always pops into my brain is "boring". LOL!
I guess I have to admit that I am not going to make my goal of being under 15 mpm by the end of September. I have tried hard, but it's just not going to happen. I am close, but not there yet. Maybe by ToT, but who knows? I am not terribly disappointed because I feel like I am mostly doing well. My exercise is going VERY well and I'm pretty darned consistent with it. Eating is not such a happy story, but then, it never is, for me. It's not horrible, though, most of the time, and sometimes it's VERY good!!! I'd have liked to have lost 10 pounds before ToT, too, but I am sure that's not going to happen, either. I am losing, but in tiny, tiny increments. Losing weight when you're very close to your goal weight is a long process. Seems like when you're very overweight, small changes reap big benefits. Doesn't work that way when you're close, unfortunately.
This evening I did four miles after work. Even though I sometimes have a hard time getting myself out there, once I'm walking, I find it very relaxing and helps me shake off the day. Deep breaths of fresh air sure help clear the head! Tomorrow I will swim and Saturday is an 8 mile walk. I am looking forward to that. The weather should be great - high 40's to low 50's. About perfect for walking! My friend is going to try out some new shoes. They sound strange to me and I don't know how well they'll work. They are rounded on the bottom, sort of like the rocker on a rocking chair and you're apparently supposed to roll from the heel to the toe. Has anyone heard of or tried these things?
Time for a shower and bed.....thank goodness!
Enjoy your exercise!
Kathy
