walk me through an imaginary add-on--let me see if I have it right

OK, first of all, if you remember from last summer when we bought our 160 BWV points I'm not one to jump and do this easily.
That said (ha ha), let me see if I have this right.
Say if I want to buy 80 VWL points (or if they have 80 BWV points available). First, Disney will buy my 2001 points for $5 each for $400, right? Or not.
So now I have enough points for 5 weeknights at BWV plus two weeknights at VWL (I know, better figure in a weekend somewhere!)--240 total points to use.
Say next year we use the 240 points.
Then we bank 2003 until 2004--borrow 2005--we'd have 720 points for a cruise/land vacation.
questions:
1) do I have this figured right
2) does MB work for add-ons
3) are there any points available at BWV at this time

I'm not sure, but I think you need to buy a minimum of 100 points to be offered magical beginnings.

Last thing's first....I asked my guide two weeks ago about BWV. They are completely sold out and there is no longer even a wait list for add-ons.

I'm not sure how the MB program would work here...except that it is $5 a point now and you need to be buying at least 50 points to use it. I think they will only buy back half...or at least that's how it was when we purchased our original contract. We didn't think MB was worth it for our add on, though we considered it. At this time we'd rather have the points!

There are lots of options as far as banking and borrowing your points...the main things I keep in mind are my home resort booking periods and the # of points I have at each resort. I pretty much plan to bank and borrow my VWL points for a trip there every 3 years. We're going to use points for 2 nights added to our next trip then save up to get 5 days or so after 2 more years. I have charts layed out showing my points at each resort individually and then with them together so I can see what I'm doing with which points (yep, obsessive about my points!)

It's almost scary how easy it is to do an add on. I called my guide one evening, had the papers in less than a week, signed, popped them into a Fed Ex pick up box by the supermarket and we're now owners at VWL. I'm not planning on adding any more for a while because I think the next add on may be a larger # of points.

Think fast...only a few more weeks before the price increase!

Actually it is a minimum of 100 point ($5 per point) at WDW DVC resorts or 50 point minimum ($10 per point )at HH or Vero to use MB. we just bought 55 at HH and used Mb

I think it may be easier if you just call your sales guide and get the correct answer to your question. It seems everyone has a different idea on the programs based on when they purchased and some of these programs have changed over time.
