Waking TINK... not always a Zoo! (aka: Notazu!)

I promise i'm not trying to get in the middle of something here, but thought I would explain waht waking Tinkerbell is all about.

The place to do this is "Tinkerbell's Treasures" which is a shop in Fantasyland. Go through the castle and you will see it on your left. The first child that gets there and asks to wake up Tinkerbell will have the privelage.

That child will stand on a stool behind the counter with a wand in hand. they will tap on a small chest 3 times, saying "Wake Up Tinkerbell!" At this point, there will be a flash of light around the room, and a certain pixie tinkle noise. said child will then be walked over to the top drawer of the dresser where they can look through the keyhole to see where Tink has flown to. Said child will then be issued with a Magical Moments certificate and a few stickers. If they are the right age, they will truly believe in the magic of what they have done :sunny:, like my DD5 did last january. I have to say, i was one of the eager mothers who ran all the way down main St :rolleyes1 (its longer than it looks you know), only to be confronted with a rope drop at the castle :Pinkbounc . We then bolted into the shop at rope drop. this was january and I don't think I truly needed to take these measures in hindsight and do feel a bit silly. However, we have done it now and I promise not to be so silly again. next time, i will just walk :lmao:

thanks so much for the info... I agree with whoever said it above-- I don't know why, but my computer (which is new) cannot search many times on this site. I type in a word and it says the search option it isn't available. Sometimes it works, but usually not.

thanks for the info!

Thanks to your wonderful trip report that I read prior to my Dec 2005 visit, I would have never heard about this joyous experience. I did plenty of research on all of the websites about all of the hidden treasures, but never heard about this. If I remember right, on the same day, you managed to ride in the cab of the monorail, wake up Tink and visit the barbershop for some pixie dust. You're obviously a very generous, good spirited Disney fan!!!!

We just NEVER seem to enter the park early enough to do this.

Sleepy heads in the morning.

Thanks for sharing your experience!

When the child looks into the dresser, does she actually see Tink? Can you look and see Tink later in the day?

(Ditto to the problems searching. Search works for me only half a time. Sometimes, I can't even get the little drop-down cursor to work. It can be really frustrating. I usually try searching anyway because posting a new reply, especially a question, makes me nervous.)

To kabbie, just knowing that by writing that report I helped somebody find a little extra magic really makes my day. I'm so glad you enjoyed it and I'm trying to find new magic for my trip in october (hope I didn't do all the good stuff already).

To Carnotaurus, yes Tink is in the dresser drawer all day so you can drop by any time and yes you can see her ;) .

I woke up Tink over the summer at 2pm.

They dont just do it in the morning... You can go in any time of day and ask if your kid can wake up tink. Its not something that happens once a day. :)

My daughter got to do this last April. She has been a MAJOR tink fan since she was around 5 yrs old, so she was absolutely elated. I did not get to see it because i was on the carousel with my other kids and I thought it would be something special for her to do with just my mom. I knew the second I saw her come out of the store she was able to do it because she had the biggest beaming smile on her face that I have ever seen. I was so happy for her. She got a certificate and some stickers. After that she just had to bring the certificate to peter pan and wendy so she could show them. I loved it because even though she was 10 yrs old, it was very serious business!!

My dd got to wake tink up last September. We were having breakfast in Cindy's castle on her birthday, and happened to wander outside. The CM told me that they had already had someone wake up Tink that day, but that my dd could do it as well. She got the certificate and everything and was very happy about having a part in Tink's day. I think it has to do with the CM that is there as well as the parent's inquiring politely.
