Waitlist Question

I have a waitlist right now. Will MS contact me if it comes through or do I need to keep checking myself? Also, I have one night booked, if the waitlist comes through will I get to keep the same reservation number or will that change?

I just had a waitlist come through last weekend, I got an e-mail. I had waitlisted Nov 10 with an AP rate backup, I had separate reservations for Nov 11 and November 12-14, I picked them up online separate times and planned to call to have them linked. When Nov 10 came through, they automatically combined all 5 nights into 1 reservation with a new number. I was so excited it came through, the AP rate was $286 per night! And I originally had all 5 nights on AP rate! By stalking the website, I got 4 of the 5 nights, I really didn't expect the first night to come through on waitlist.
