waiting to rent a car?

I haven't booked our rental car yet. Trip is in 10 days. We are only renting it for about 30ish hours in the middle of our trip. I keep getting "last minute" deal emails from Avis and other companies that are really good. Do you think it's ok to wait until the middle of next week to see if I can get one of these last minute deals? We will be renting the 28th and 29th fri and sat.

Also is anyone familiiar with a cancellation policy, we are renting to go to sea world friday and the beach on saturday. If saturday rains we obviously don't want to go to the beach and we'd go to a park instead and then the beach a different day. Just wondering how that might work.

If you're within 10 days of your trip, you probably won 't see anything better deal-wise than what you've already seen. Also note that many car rental deals require a minimum amount of rental days to qualify, so be sure to read the fine print.
