Waiting for Rest of Fall 2015 Room Only Discount

You mentioned the Amex travel offer and I just booked with them at pop for October. My question is have you ever used them to book with disney before and if so, will they have the right confirmation number for to link to my MDE? There's one thread elsewhere that said it was a huge headache getting it from Amex?.. I'll call in the morning but just thought I'd see if you'd had any advice to give?
Sorry, I have no specific advice. :( I have not booked with Amex before. I'd check your confirmation email though and see if there's a code in it like Orbitz sends... it would be a 6 character alphanumeric code.

I have just never booked with them because while they do tend to have the same discounted rates as Disney once the room only discounts come out, there's no coupon code to stack on. I've been going with Orbitz a lot recently since there's always a code and they get me with those Orbucks that I can use for the next trip. :o But I checked Amex just in case there was availability there that Disney and Orbitz themselves did not have, since I had that offer. I guess I could also check AAA, but I just think that my dates are just bad dates (race weekend) and I should be happy that I did get rooms at POFQ already, since we are traveling there for the race and can't change the dates. :)

Can Orbitz reservations be cancelled as easily as Disney Reservations?
I've never tried to cancel a reservation through Disney, but when I had to re-book my DL trip a few months ago on Orbitz, it was just a couple button clicks on the website to cancel the original one.

Sorry if this sounds dumb I am new to discounts. I booked under the free dining discount and tried to add nights to my stay before it was over but there was no rooms left. So now that this discount is out if people cancel their free dining and it opens up room can I add nights to my free dining or not? Please help.

I have never personally done this with Free Dining, so I am not sure if it is the same. But I did try adding RO discount in the past, and it wasn't available for part of my stay. But when I called back a month later, I was able to add it. So I think it is possible, as long as you aren't trying to add the offer to any blackout days. I would keep checking.

If I book a room for two can I add a third person later?

Don't understand how orbitz is soooo much cheaper than direct from Disney. My question is if i book through orbitz do i need to cancel my current reservation first or can i book orbitz first then cancel the other?

Thanks for any info.

Because you have to pay the whole thing upfront instead of paying a deposit and then the remainder upon check in?

That's a good point. So Disney gets all their money in hand upfront so there is value in that. Although people can still cancel with Orbitz but still unless or until they do Disney can use that money as they see fit i guess.

I booked through orbitz then cancelled my disney reservation online.

Book with Orbitz first to make sure you have a reservation. Then cancel Disney.

The third-party web sites buy a bulk of rooms from Disney at a discount and are able to pass along the savings to you. And as mentioned, they usually get their money up front. I don't know if all of it goes to Disney right away or just the first night's deposit - but someone benefits from the prepayment!

I first booked through Orbitz using the "HOTEL10" code, because my reservation is for only one night. Then I read about the "48hrsale" code (good through July 22) for 15% off any length stay. I cancelled my first Orbitz reservation (only because I needed to get the right amount of Orbucks back) and rebooked with the better discount. Then I cancelled my Disney-booked reservation online.

I'm not familiar with Ebates, but will look into that for another time.

One more thing about Orbitz: if you book your reservation through their app, you earn a higher percentage of Orbucks to be used on a future reservation: 5% vs. 3%.

Did you load the new one into MDE first or after you cancelled the old one? Also many on here have said to change the name associated with the orbitz reservation to your name. Where do I go to do that on MDE? Is it under modify reservation?

I just want to say thanks to everyone on this thread!!! I wanted to add a couple of room only days to my free dining reservation. Disney didn't have any discounts at all. I went to ebates and then orbitz and saved 35%.

I started to load it but stopped because I still need to call orbitz and add my children to the reservation, but it seemed pretty simple. I'm not sure about changing your name, I'll be interested to hear if anyone else has more info.

Right after I made the Orbitz reservation I went on their chat feature and chatted w/a CS agent. They called Disney and added my daughter onto the reservation and got the Disney reservation code. Once I had that I added the reservation to MDE, made sure everything checked out ok and only then cancelled my original reservation.

After that I went to the magic bands link and made sure to change the address and phone number to my info and added in the correct names.

Hope that helps!

I also assume if it is just me and my daughter i can just do the orbitz straight up and wont have to add her after as it is a reservation for just 2?

Apologize if this has been answered before as I did not read entire thread. Orbitz is for RO reservations, correct? So, if you are adding a dining plan, this would be a no go? And I figure if you do this, you get Undercover tickets and add to MDE?

As @calismic said, it's SO easy. I ended up booking individual days at 2 different resorts yesterday when the discount was trickling out & just cancelled all 4 when the discount was finally released in full and I got what I actually wanted. I love orbitz cancellation procedure & being able to chat online to make adjustments. The only downsides I have found is having to pay everything up front & when we booked for Disneyland it was a couple days before our ressies showed in Disneyland's system.

No need to call WDW if you only need the hotel reservation number, as the Orbitz hotel reservation number will bring up your reservation on My Disney Experience.

OK, question for everyone.
I called a CM this morning to apply the 15% off room discount at the Poly for our November trip and he told me that all of the discounted rooms are already booked or on hold. I've never heard of this before. Is this special room rate different from past years?
I spoke to a CM today and they are having trouble finding anything available. There was one room for our dates one weekend and three rooms the weekend prior, when I checked again last night they were all gone. Hoping for an AP rate!
