Did anyone get a deluxe resort discount? The only rooms that the CM I talked to saw were at POP and CBR.

I was able to apply the discount to the Polynesian reservation I had.

OK, question for everyone.
I called a CM this morning to apply the 15% off room discount at the Poly for our November trip and he told me that all of the discounted rooms are already booked or on hold. I've never heard of this before. Is this special room rate different from past years?

I know from past years that there are a limited number of rooms and certain room categories that are set aside for the discounts. So I think what the CM told you is very possible. Once those limited number of rooms are taken, that is it. But it is possible that those "on hold" rooms will be released if the deposit is not given by the due date.

I'll save $200+ if I go through Orbitz v. Disney, it feels too good to be true. With that in mind, is there anything I need to know?

Presumably I'm in charge of my reservation and can make changes if need be? The only change I foresee right now is my sister wants to come along but is waiting to see if she can get time off work. If she can then I would be able to add her to the reservation? And, I can link the Orbitz reservation to MDE.

ETA: I wasn't comparing oranges to oranges. At Disney I already have her on the reservation. At Orbitz I was looking at it without her but once I added her, I didn't actually finalize the reservation, I'm saving less than $100.

Sat on hold for 35 minutes for por 12/6-12/12. Didn't have king rooms would have to change to garden for a savings of $181. In reality would be a savings of $109 due to the up charge for a king room. Decided to not take it. But just letting others know it's out there

This is why I love the Dis! I booked CR Bay Lake view for less than garden wing! Got 25% off the room through Orbitz, then over 500 off for the 48 hr sale!

Edit to add that I booked through Ebates and am also getting about $60 back from them.

I don't think you can add dining. You call Orbitz and get your reservation # for MDE (NOT your Orbitz reservation number) then add it to MDE. You can also add park tickets from wherever you buy them (Disney, Undercover Tourist, etc). I have read to add children later because Orbitz sometimes charges more unless you call them afterwards and explain that Disney doesn't charge for children. With both linked in MDE you can book FP+ at 60 days. I plan to call Orbitz tomorrow to add the kids and get my number for MDE.

You can link it in MDE... the code you need is in the confirmation email from Orbitz. For the other questions, I am pretty sure the answer is no on the dining plan (but I won't say 100%... we never get it) and I don't know on the adding a person, but my guess is that you have to cancel and re-book. I had to cancel and re-book our DL trip this past spring so that I could add an extra day on.

Thanks, unfortunately it says save 25% but it doesn't actually. The base rate is only 10% off rack when I look it up without a promo code attached, though the 15% off does stack to the 10% when added in. I've booked AKL instead & am getting pretty excited now! Didn't know about ebates though!

I guess I'll be sticking with my Orbitz reservation that just had a 15% discount code. Last year when we booked for December 2-8, Orbitz had rooms that were discounted AND you could stack the discount code, but most of the hotels are just showing no availability this year for our dates. I guess because it is Nov 5-9, the W&D half weekend. I checked at Amex Travel as well, since I had an offer there for $100 off $600 booked through travel, but nothing available there either.

You mentioned the Amex travel offer and I just booked with them at pop for October. My question is have you ever used them to book with disney before and if so, will they have the right confirmation number for to link to my MDE? There's one thread elsewhere that said it was a huge headache getting it from Amex?.. I'll call in the morning but just thought I'd see if you'd had any advice to give?

I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for their contributions to this thread.

I ended up saving $169.67 on the room (POR, Garden View) booking through Orbitz plus I'm getting cash back from ebates, I wouldn't have thought to do that if I hadn't read it here. And, I already linked my reservation on MDE too, super easy to do.

Sorry if this sounds dumb I am new to discounts. I booked under the free dining discount and tried to add nights to my stay before it was over but there was no rooms left. So now that this discount is out if people cancel their free dining and it opens up room can I add nights to my free dining or not? Please help.
