Waiting for Rest of Fall 2015 Room Only Discount

We have a split stay coming up this year in October at POR/Poly. We already had FD on our POR reservation, so our TA called today to try to get a RO discount for our Poly reservation. No such luck. They couldn't apply the discount to our existing reservations because the only availability was at CR and GF I know Disney is trying to limit the discounts this year, but still disappointing. We also received pin codes for RO discounts a few weeks ago...but we also couldn't use those because there wasn't any availability at the Poly. I miss the days when a pin code could be applied to any reservation

When I spoke to a CM regarding the renovations at Poly, I was told that most are done, with the exception of the smaller pool.

The problem with Poly's availability is that so much of it has been converted to DVC. And it is in high demand. Nothing much discounted this year.

Sorry, I have no specific advice. I have not booked with Amex before. I'd check your confirmation email though and see if there's a code in it like Orbitz sends... it would be a 6 character alphanumeric code.

I have just never booked with them because while they do tend to have the same discounted rates as Disney once the room only discounts come out, there's no coupon code to stack on. I've been going with Orbitz a lot recently since there's always a code and they get me with those Orbucks that I can use for the next trip. But I checked Amex just in case there was availability there that Disney and Orbitz themselves did not have, since I had that offer. I guess I could also check AAA, but I just think that my dates are just bad dates (race weekend) and I should be happy that I did get rooms at POFQ already, since we are traveling there for the race and can't change the dates.

Just an update for you in case you ever do book with them, I got the confirmation code Disney wanted by calling Amex travel and asking them for it. It took her awhile to locate it because she said their were a few #'s but knew the one Disney wanted would be the 12 digit number. It DID NOT come on my email confirmation with them, i had to call. I got lucky and the customer service lady was very friendly and knew exactly what I was talking about. With the Disney RO discounts and the $100 credit from amex, I ended up saving $200 total for my stay! I'll take it and was happy I found it when i did (yesterday morning )!
I'm sorry you didn't have any luck finding your dates with discounts to redeem the benefit offer. That stinks. Thanks for the info about orbitz, it seems going with them for room only in the future might be a good choice!

It's one of the offers that you can add to your card. At the bottom of your account page, there's a scroller of bunch of offers that you add to your card and then when you spend money at the place it's for, you get a credit back on your card.

Absolutely! Just input the Orbitz hotel reservation number on the MDE web site and link that reservation.

I stumbled across a Deluxe Villa for $371 in late October, which was cheaper than the rack I was reserved for at Beach Club. So I reserved it. Then, I saw this morning, a standard view at Yacht club for $310, and chose to think on it (because I REALLY want to stay at the Poly). I came back tonight, hoping it would possibly still be there... *POOF!*

Maybe, they'll release some AP Deluxe goodness...

Happy with what I have, for sure. But, I'm always looking for the better bargain.

I was watching the Yacht Club rooms too. They disappeared in a matter of hours! So much is already gone....

I'm not going to lie.... i'm jealous of the ppl who snagged discounts at PoR/ RR.

Yeah, I had been checking the Disney website Special Offers section everyday but I guess I wasn't scrolling down far enough because I'm just now seeing the discount this morning, and it looks like not much is left. No discount for me this year, so I guess it's not so bad that I already booked my room months ago.

No. This year the discounts have been getting slimmer and slimmer. The offerings for Free Dining were way down from previous years. And this last release of Fall Discounts was brutal.

I know that I shouldn't come across as "ungrateful" or "entitled" regarding Disney discounts, but I have to say that I am extremely disappointed with this year's fall room only discounts! This will be our second trip(some of our recently adopted kids first ever trip) to Disney World and we will still go regardless, but it would have been nice to have at least gotten some type of discount. Our trip has been paid in full for a few months and I was sort of hoping to surprise my "blended" family with a little nicer resort than we currently have booked. I literally called and was speaking with an agent 3 minutes after the phone lines opened up on Monday and before I could really even get out our resort reservation number she started telling me that the odds of getting a room only discount during our stay was pretty slim. It made it appear like the representatives already knew that there was a VERY LIMITED availability. We unfortunately can only go this year Oct. 12-19 due to work and year round school schedules. Of course she was correct, I could either down grade to a value from a moderate or I could pay over $1500 more for a club level at a deluxe. I don't know about most of you, but we have recently taken on 3 more children(my sister passed away) and adding that large of an expense is not in the budget. SO at this point we are paying rack rate for our entire trip. I will keep looking and keeping my fingers crossed. You never know what can happen between now and our trip. I also want to say THANKS to al of you who post on these boards. I have gotten ALOT of useful information from all of you.

I just checked at the Wilderness this morning for when we are staying 12/12 to 12/19 and they opened up more rooms. I was able to switch to what we wanted! It appears they did this for the contemporary too because they didn't have any before. Not sure if they released more rooms for the whole offer or the rest of the resorts but it might be worth a look!
