Waiting for late Nov/Dec Southwest tickets?

when SWA's fares come out they do not adjust for certain days of the week. They remain the same for all days. They also do not jack the price up for holidays. Now, getting a good fare may be a trick because of so many booking, but, if you read the fare rules, you will see what is required.

So, does SWA usually, when they open the schedule, allow X number of seats at each price level, say 20 seats at the $79 level, 40 seats at the $109 level, etc, and when they are booked, that's it? I thought I read that somewhere about SWA.

Thanks Gail - you're teaching me an awful lot!!

They have a set limit. So, yes, your theory is correct. BUT, sometimes, they get whimsical and release more fares at a lower price. That depends on the time of the year and the destination. Some fares are good on certain days only.
Usually the "cheapy" fares are good on all days.
They have SO many fare classes and prices and rules for each one. Just click on the link near the fare that you are interested in and it gives the entire breakdown.
I always say, expect the unexpected with SWA. :)

So they're adding another non stop flight from Hartford to Orlando?? Woo! :Pinkbounc We haven't decided if we want to leave the 26, 27, or 28th of November. Our ressies begin at POR on the 28th, but I would like to fly down a little early to take advantage of the few extra days off from work:crazy:

Ok... I was sure today was the day!! I have never seen only 4 months on SW's schedule! EVER! Well, ever since I've been using SW (2 years).

WHAT are they waiting for, I ask you, WHAT? :confused3

Please, oh, please I leave tomorrow for 8 days of no internet access. Please release the dates today. :worship:

I will lose my mind without internet. I won't be anywhere near an "internet cafe", much less library either (Black Lake in Hammond, NY).

Ugh... please, SW? :faint:

Thanks, Gail, that is very, very interesting to know! I just assumed since the other airlines I was checking for comparison (e.g., Song) was higher on Sundays, that SWA would be, too. Thanks for the info! This should mean that as long as I am able to book fairly soon after the dates come out (i.e., before others do!:D ), that I should be able to get the Saturday or Sunday at the same price?

BTW, I wonder what the time will be of that new BDL-MCO non-stop? Seems like they have a lot to choose from already, but hey, I'm not complaining about having MORE choice! :D

So, c'mon SWA, release those dates already and quit torturing us!

I am not so patiently waiting for the schedule to open up. We are planning on leaving thanksgiving day and returning on 12/5. We can fly into either TPA or MCO. We have not yet made our Disney reservations because I can't decide what days I want to go yet but we will most likely go mid week after thanksgiving.

Come on SW...lets GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you cannot make up your mind, why would SWA's schedule matter to you?

Hey EllenJ - I grew up in West Haven! Class of 1984 (dating myself, but hey, growing old is much better than the alternative).

So they're adding another non stop flight from Hartford to Orlando??

I read this thread twice (but it's late and I'm tired!). Did someone have info that they posted that SW is adding an add'l non-stop? Anyone know anything more about this?

We are going 10/24 and returning 10/30, and the schedule ends on 10/29. So I bought our tickets to get there...I guess we'll just have to stay forever!

Also, someone posted that the tickets for Song on Sunday were more money...they were more on Sat and some Fridays also, so I think it is just that the "cheap seats" are sold out.

the information was in the weekly newsletter.

Being the impatient person I am, I called SWA & asked when they were going to open up November dates... the girl symphathetically said SHE thought that it would have been LAST week but that she had no idea when it would be.... This is the last part of my trip that I have to set up & it is driving me CRAZY:confused3

My gut tells me that they are waiting for fuel to stabalize to some degree before they commit their schedule.
the agents don't really know much more than 30 mins. before the release.
I feel your pain, but, I would rather wait and have them set in "cement" than have them now subject to change like the other airlines do.
There is good and bad in SWA's scheduling, most of it good.

I really think it's going to be Tuesday now (but that doesn't stop me from checking every hour!).

There was a post that seems legitimate on the passporter.com boards from someone who says who works at SWA (his screen name is SWADisneyaddict or something like that) who said that it would be July 6th. And one time I called one CM said "check back after 4th of July weekend". So I will be up on Tuesday checking every 10 minutes!

I've been checking the site every day for dates 10/20-10/30. I am getting irritated. I'm only waiting for one more day---the 30th! And SWA schedule only goes up to the 29th. UGHHHHHHH!!
<a href='http://www.smileycentral.com/?partner=ZSzeb008' target='_blank'><img src='http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_13_1.gif' border=0></a> that SWA would just give us the schedules. . .

:wave2:

I really have nothing to add except what a beautiful picture of you and your husband Erika, it made me smile :)

Well I am glad you all have something to look forward too...LOW prices! How about some of SWA up in MSP! :teeth:

Don't believe everything you read. Anyone can say anything on any board. I feel sure they will be coming out soon and maybe on the 6th, but, after speaking with many agents at SWA the continual story is they don't know until the day they are posted, some only 30 mins. before.
