Waiting for late Nov/Dec Southwest tickets?

Do they really offer seats that cheap? Are they usually one way or round trip? Right now they are like $300 per person for round trip. We are planning to go to Disney in FL Dec 18-27th.

SWA has not passes the cost of jet fuel onto their customers, so, I doubt that will have any bearing on their flights.

Sorry, Gail. I just did not word what I was trying to say well! I was just adding that I would like to see the gas prices go down for other airlines to lower their prices! Right now, the prices for our trip are terrible on any airline! I am anxious to see SWA and make ressies because they are our only hope to have get a decent price for our airfare! ARGH!!!!!!!

Their dates for Dec. are not out yet, so, it would be hard to say what it will be when the dates open up.

Seeing the jet fuel go down would be wonderful!!!! Hope they pop out with extended dates soon. My guess, after this discount code expires, which is on the 25th of this month.

When I called last week a CS rep said that they opened their schedule last year on June 25th. Then I called this week and a different rep said check after 4th of July weekend. Since the 6th is a Tuesday, and they seem to do things on Tuesday, I bet this is correct. But that won't stop me from checking the site obsessively 3 or 4 times a day between now and then!

Does anyone know if it's typically on Tuesdays that they open up more dates, to coincide with the e-mail special that gets e-mailed?
For over a month now, my husband and I have both been checking everyday, starting at 6:00 a.m. and again numerous times throughout the day, for Hartford to Orlando 11/27-12/2 -- to the point where we don't say hello to one another anymore, instead we say "did you check Southwest?" :teeth:

Anyway, it would help our collective sanity to know if it's only Tuesdays when dates would open up...

Thanks!

In all honesty, there is no typical day for them to extend the rates.

Hey Figment! Im also looking for Hartford to Orlando in late November:earsboy: *Sits and waits for July 6th*

Stini228, good luck to you, too! Should be a great time to go and escape the cold up here. We've flown out of Hartford the past few times and really like it. Even though Providence and Boston are slightly closer to us, I can't stand the thought of driving into Boston (even though JetBlue would be a good deal right now), and Providence is usually a little more expensive, even on Southwest. SWA out of BDL has been cheap and convenient for us. Cross our fingers that July 6 is the day! :D

The Thorpe family is waiting for Nov. 9th thru Nov. 20th!!!

I just want to have my tix in hand!!!

We're waiting, too! Christmas decorations, here I come!!!

I don't think it's only Tuesdays, because I called to ask them when they opened the schedule last year, and they said June 25th, which was a Wednesday. And they also say anytime anyday. So yes, you have to keep checking.

We're leaving on Nov 27th out of Hartford too. We're going for the 10:55 nonstop. Do you have a flight in mind? We're live down on the shoreline in CT.

We are waiting for November 9-13. I set my homepage on my browser to open at the reservation page for SWA. Great way to check every time I go online. We will join the wave too!!

That's very, very good to know. I would not have even thought to ask about last year! And interesting that it was a Wednesday. I will definitely keep checking everyday, then, thinking that if the current promotion ends on 6/30, maybe 7/1's the day?

Yes, we're planning on the 10:55 non-stop, too! (Don't nab my seats, now! ;) ) We've taken that flight a couple of times and it's the perfect time -- not too early (we live near Worcester, Mass., so we leave our house around 8 a.m.), but you still get to Orlando with plenty of time to do a grocery stop and check in before dinner. Perhaps you'll see me -- I'll be the one with a 2 1/2 y.o. daughter, hauling a car seat, stroller, and 10 tons of crap! ;)

Now THAT's thinking! I didn't think of that either! I have just reset my home page...;)

I'll have a 4 yr old and a 6 yr old plus DH. I think they'll be enough seats for us all.;) I will only book a nonstop flight, and I just couldn't take that 7 am nonstop (get up at 3 am? not my choice way to start a vacation!).

Have you ever travelled on the Thanksgiving weekend? I'm hoping it won't be too crazy. I hear that Sat isn't so bad, but to travel on Sunday is pretty bad.

Let's pray for no SNOW!

Where are you going to be staying? We're at WL.

In other news:

SOUTHWEST YOU ARE DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!'

WHEN are you going to open your schedule??

WHEN???

WHEN?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, I'm done now. Pardon my little rant and rave. I knew you'd understand...

Sorcha, we're in DVC, so right now we're staying at BCV, but are waitlisted for WLV! Just DH, DD2, and me. We hear WL's Christmas decorations are amazing, so that's why we'd like to try there... But I'm sure they're all beautiful.

Have not traveled over Thanksgiving weekend before, but judging from the other airlines' whose rates area already out, Sunday is more expensive, which leads me to believe it's busier. We were going to go from Sun.-Fri., but based on that info., we'll go Sat.-Thurs. instead (assuming that's how SWA's rates really pan out). I have Sat.-Fri. booked at the resort, anyway, just in case.

I agree with you -- SWA is driving me CRAZY! I don't think I can stand too many more days (weeks?) of this....

Incidentally, saw your question on another thread -- we always park at Executive Valet Parking -- with the coupon on the Web site (which is always there), it's $7.50/day or $37.50/week, and the shuttle is waiting when you get there and is one quick call when you return. They're great!

Hope we're closing in on the date now!

when SWA's fares come out they do not adjust for certain days of the week. They remain the same for all days. They also do not jack the price up for holidays. Now, getting a good fare may be a trick because of so many booking, but, if you read the fare rules, you will see what is required.
