Waiting for late Nov/Dec Southwest tickets?

For what it's worth, the last 2 times I patiently waited for SW to open up their schedule, they opened them both times on a Tuesday, and at 10:00 am (eastern time) on the net and 12 noon (eastern time) through phone reps...Mark

wiating completely impatiently here is Islip looking for nov 18-26...COME ON LET"S GO what is the hold up. I even called them on the phone. I have never seen it cut this close before.:bounce: :Pinkbounc :hyper:

Don't believe everything you read. Anyone can say anything on any board. I feel sure they will be coming out soon and maybe on the 6th, but, after speaking with many agents at SWA the continual story is they don't know until the day they are posted, some only 30 mins. before.

Oh sure, I thought that too, but he has like 70 posts on that board, and his location is Texas, which makes me think he is legit. Actually, what he really said is that the new schedules will out on July 6th, and the new dates may be on them. I also heard that same thing from two other sources (one word of mouth and one from a different SWA CS person). So it might happen anytime, but I think Tuesday is a good bet.

Of course, I need Nov 27th and Dec 4th. If I'm lucky I'll get Nov, but I'll probably have to wait AGAIN for the 4th!!

Thanks Mark - here's hoping!

Jet fuel prices are what I believe the hold up is also, they are adding flights to various locations, yet another thing to hold stuff up.
There ususal rule is 4-6 months out.
They seem to be a tad under the 4 month mark now.

if what they say on their latest rapid rewards update.....fuel prices are the least of their concerns when it comes to the travelling public...

taken from the website...

Already paying plenty for gas?

Then why should you have to pay for an airline’s fuel? Too many airlines have a hidden fuel surcharge. Southwest Airlines doesn’t. We’ll take care of the gas, the peanuts, and a beverage too. Just visit southwest.com to book our lowest fares, and you’ll enjoy low fares without extra fuel charges.

While that is totally true, I expect they got hit big time and want to see where the prices are before they commit to a new schedule.
It appears that they were telling customers that they were/are eating the cost of fuel. Nice advertising and a nice dig to the competition.

Gail,
I am confused by your comment. I am not sure of the dates and hotels for Disney but my vacation time off is sheduled. Can you elaborate for me???

Sorcha/ Sally,
Another Westie... I am slightly older than you. Class of 1980. Have you had your class reunion yet? I think they get better with age!

sure,
If you don't know what dates you are going to be at the hotels, why does SWA's schedule matter?

BTW, Dee graduated from WH also, but he graduated a VERY VERY LONG time ago. :)

I am looking to book for January 29- Feb 5th.. Do you think that those dates will be released at this time or Do I have to wait?
Thanks for all the info, I will look on the 6th to see if they have come out yet!

Gail, like I said, my vacation time is set for the week starting at Thanksgiving and ending on 12/5. I will be in florida regardless of whether I go to Disney or not. I want to book my flight as soon as the dates open up. So that is why SWA's schedule matters.

Wow, another Westie. I think West Haven High has taken over this thread.

I think the Jan. dates will be out, but probably only to the middle of Jan. They only schedule 4-6 months out.

I LOVE WHWT!!!! They are wonderful and the most adorable puppies. :)

Just checked the SWA web site. There are now 2 open slots below October on the date page. Looks like tomorrow will be the day (hopefully!!!). Waiting for Mid Dec for our first XMas trip

Don't want to burst your bubble, but, it has been that way for weeks now.

Yeah once the month ends it takes it away so that started when may was over now June is over. There is usually obvious room for 6 months. I am praying for tomorrow but we will see :)
