I need some help from the experts with this one.
I am planning a trip to WDW in 2004, magic season. My home resort is the Lodge; however I would love to get a grand villa at Old Key West. Here is my plan let me know what you think.
At the 11 month window I reserve 3 studios at the lodge for the 5 nights that I need, this is my safety net. My friend, who's home resort is Old Key West, reserves a Grand Villa for the same 5 nights. Shortly after, when the Grand Villas at OKW fill up for that specific week, I get on I wait list, hopefully I'm the first. At the 7 month window my friend calls and cancels his reservation for the grand villa. Now the big question, what are the chances that I get called for the grand villa?
I realize that my friend could make the reservation in my name and I could then transfer my points to his account to pay him back. But this is not an option because I have borrowed in the past and I can not transfer points once they have been borrowed. Plus I would not want to put any restrictions on his ability to use the points, meaning he couldnt bank then into the next year and so fourth.
Any help would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks,
Gene
