I was wondering how the fantasmic package was at Hollywood and Vine?? Would it be worth the money or would I be better off just grabbing a quick bite and bringing it in the line with us while we wait????That was the only place available so we went with it in hopes of good food!!

For us we would never buy the Fantasmic package. I would grab something and get in line.

Hollywood and Vine is a decent buffet. Not special...food was ok. We like the fact that we can walk up to Fantasmic a half hr. before the show starts and get seating. However, the seats are to the right side of the stage. So if you prefer center stage this won't work for you. This works for us during busy season. During slow season...we would not use it.

Good luck getting the Fantasmic package at this point in time. I called at exactly 180 days out for our next trip and they told me there were no Fantasmic packages left for our dates. I have called back three more times since then and still nothing.

I think the bottom line for me when getting the fantasmic dinner package is if i am going to be there during a busy time of year. If it is not so busy I would just wait in line. To me the seats towards the front are not that great and i think you get a just as good a view from seeing it from the higher seats, we usually get there about 15 minutes before the show sit towards the back and are the first ones to leave.

In addition when doing the fantasmic dinner package even though the fantasmic show may not be until 9 pm the latest dinner time you may get would be between 4 to 5pm, to me that is 2 early to eat so we dont do it anymore

We have always done the Fantasmic package and I think it is great. The food at Hollywood and Vine is okay as well. I think the seats they offer are excellent. I would not want to be down so close . I have never had to pay for the package they only take your CCto be sure you show and if you take a 5:00 seating it usually takes a good hour or so to eat. I love it especially at Thanksgiving a very busy time!:thumbsup2

Wait in line if H&V is your choice. It is one of only two Disney restaurants we will never step foot in again.

what is the other restaurant you will never step foot in again?

Boatwright's for dinner. It was the worse meal we have ever had just about anywhere. And the service was absolutely horrid. We are going for breakfast though because DH wants to try the sweet potato pancakes every one raves about.

We always do the fantasmic package. We are going when the osborne lights are going on and after eating, walk to the osborne lights then to fantasmic is great time.

You've made a good decison. Go get cooled off and stuffed at H&V (don't miss the soft serve ice cream) then walk it off before leisurely heading into the stadium for a wonderful show.

In all my trips to WDW, I've yet to book the Fantasmic package nor have I ever stood in line for it.

That said, I don't go in the peak of the summer or Christmas week. Never had a problem finding a great center seat after the gates open.

I just booked H&V with the Fantasmic package for our Free dining trip. It looked good to me. I like the convenience of not having to wait in line for the show. I've never eaten there before and this is the only fireworks show we have not seen--even on our 10 day trip last year while staying right there at the Boardwalk! For some reason, we just didn't fit it in. This year, I made it a priority and now we are all set. No waiting and we have a couple hours to go ride some rides and see some shows between eating and the show. I think it will be fun. We are not picky eaters and buffets work out well for our 4 year old.

H&V is hands down the worst place we ever ate at WDW...the food was just terrible and the service non existant...we never had our table cleared away or had our drinks filled. DH had to hunt down the waitress to get the check.

I would rather eat CS and wait in line for Fantasmic than eat at H&V

we did get lucky enough to get an adr for there i am just trying to decide weither or not to keep it!! I imagine it will be rather busy..we are going labor day week .....
